My Werewolf System-Chapter 1239: Kim’s Anger (Part 1)

Out of the split in Trixe's group, Kim was moving along with two other Alter members. One was a female, the other a male. Although now dressed in regular clothing, all of them still had a pretty straight face on, not changing expression.

This was the same for Kim herself as she continued to walk until they had entered the hotel. This hotel wasn't very tall—it was around seven floors—but still had a large number of rooms due to its width and slight curve.

It was one of the more luxurious hotels compared to other places. As they entered the hotel lobby with glowing lights and chandeliers above them, the hunters were wondering just what they were going to do.

"How are we going to find members of the Lupus gang?" a hunter asked.

"Well, first we should set up some type of base," Kim answered. "We don't want to look suspicious, so why don't we book a room, one with a view of the main garden area."

The two hunters looked at each other, wondering just how they were going to do that. The Altered Hunters was a funded society with a few major backers in the world that helped them.

Those who ran large businesses close to the top trickled money down. Still, most of the hunters had a regular day job as well. It wasn't as if each of them was given company cards that they could use for particular expenses.

The hotel that they were currently in—a major Tier 1 city—certainly was going to be expensive. As they walked ahead to the desk and waited behind, they could see Kim pulling out a black card as she talked to others.

"Hey, did you see the card she had?" one of the hunters asked.

"Right, a black card—I didn't think those things were real. Aren't they the cards that have no limit? I thought you had to be like some big shot to get one of those. How did she manage to get one?"

"Right, if she was someone famous, wouldn't we recognize her as well?"

There were particular perks to being part of a settlement. When someone could live past the lifespan of a regular human and was there at the start of almost every era, one should be able to accumulate some type of wealth.

As they were walking around, the hunters followed Kim. She was the highest-ranked star hunter, so they imagined she had more experience, but had no idea why she was walking around the reception after already receiving a room card.

'This should be nice and easy, right?' Kim thought to herself.

Finally, they had gone up and entered the elevator, reaching the 7th floor—the very top floor. Walking down the hallway, they headed to the room and opened it up at the very edge. As they entered the hotel room, immediately they stepped into a living room area with a panoramic view of the garden in front of them.

The glass panel swept around the entire room, and the two hunters moved ahead in amazement.

"Look at this, complimentary wine and chocolates!"

"Hey, did you see this note? It says everything is free from the minibar. I've never been to a hotel before where they do this!"

The two were just in amazement at how nice the room was. They knew this was a throwaway room, so why would Kim get something so luxurious instead of a regular room? The only reason they could think of was that she had money to throw away.

The door closed behind them, and Kim could already see the two hunters lying down and testing the bed.

"Ah, we've been so tensed up with this entire mission that we haven't even had a moment to relax. It would be good to just stay here for the night if we could," one of the hunters said.

"Right, right, maybe when this mission is over, we can actually just relax and view the gardens, the city... I have to admit it's quite a nice city."

As the two were talking, they could feel an intense stare directed at them. They slowly lifted their heads and could see Kim just looking at the two of them. Immediately, they stood up, their faces turning a little red. They realized how relaxed they had been this entire time, and in front of a higher-ranked hunter of all things.

"You should be careful about what you say," Kim stated. "You have to remember, the gardens, the layout of the city, the greenery that is placed—all of it is due to the Lupus Group. They built this city from the ground up, as a safe haven for Altered, not for humans like us.

"It might be nice, but it's not a city that goes with what we stand for. Keep that thought in your head, you two."

The other two nodded, realizing that Kim wasn't angry at how they acted, but rather at what they had said. As they waited for a short time and started to look out the window at the view, they heard a ding sound at the door.

"Hello, complimentary room service," a soft voice said from outside.

"This place just keeps getting better!" one of the hunters said. "Free room service as soon as we get here—what is this!"

"Wait!" Kim said as she pulled the woman hunter's arm away. The man, seeing this, quickly rolled across the floor and stayed by the side. The door lock was then broken as a fully transformed Werewolf rushed into the room.

'I knew they would come…you can all smell me, can't you? So you know exactly what I am,' Kim thought.
