My Vampire Wives Want My Blood!-Chapter 74- New Life (Part 1)
Chapter 74- New Life (Part 1)
"Change the world..." Elio muttered as he stared at Fiona. He was mesmerized by her beauty, and more importantly, her words. If it were any other person, it would’ve sounded like some sort of pipe dream or an egotistical remark, but it was Fiona, and because of that, those words had weight to them, far more than anyone else.
What made it even more ridiculous was that she wanted him to help her do that. Him. Elio was being asked for help by the heir of the Vaylor family. That was an honor perhaps no other person will ever get, and Elio truly felt in awe at that.
Blinking slowly, he looked down and then smiled faintly. He didn’t need to think about it; the idea of changing the world sounded truly inspiring. He had seen what kind of threat these enemies could pose. He had seen what they could do to people he cares about.
That image of Fiona’s body being stabbed was etched into his mind with all the fear he felt at that moment. He didn’t want to let that happen ever again.
"I want to help. I want to make this world a better place, too." Elio said as he stood up. "I still have a long way to go before I could be useful, so ummm... Would you wait for me?"
Fiona stared at him and nodded her head. "Take all the time you need. I still also have a long way to go before I can truly start doing what I was planning. So, we both need to work hard."
"What will happen from now on?" Elio asked with a worried expression.
"You will continue your training as intended and well, unfortunately, the idea of going to the forest is not viable anymore, so we will continue with the normal training. Luckily, you already learned how to control your energy, so the rest is merely relentless practice until you master it."
"Yeah, well, I believe I can improve on my own. I figured it out, almost." He said. His mind had learned the process, and now it was just a matter of honing it into perfection.
"Mhm, and the second thing is that... You cannot stay in that apartment anymore." Fiona said.
"Huh?"
"It is too far away and too dangerous for you. After what happened yesterday, I can’t leave you on your own. I am almost certain that won’t be the last time we will see that vampire. So, we will have to move you." She said.
"Eh, move me? Where?" Elio asked.
"I own several penthouses in a few cities around the world. I also have one here where I go when I don’t want to be in this estate." She said.
"I-Is it really fine for me to go there?" He asked.
"Yes. It will be a lot safer since he can’t really access it. Besides, it is not good for you to stay in that apartment if you want to train outside the training grounds." Fiona said. "It’s the best choice."
Elio wanted to naturally refuse for a few reasons. The main one being the fact that he had a certain vampire queen with him, and she would most likely not be a fan of the idea. After all, knowing her, she doesn’t want to stay away from him. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
However, at the same time, the advantages were far too good to miss out on. Elio needed that safety and time to grow, and the few hours he spent on training daily were far from enough. Not to mention, refusing the offer would make Fiona suspicious of him.
"I understand," Elio said. "But, I need to get some stuff done beforehand, so maybe not today."
"Yeah, of course. You have today off, I have already dealt with the school, and this shouldn’t affect your grades. I know you take them very seriously."
’How did she...’ Before he could even ask the question, Elio gave up. Fiona probably knew things about him that even he didn’t know.
"Umm, well, I will be heading home then. I will send you a message later."
"Good. However, here, keep this on you."
At that moment, Fiona pulled a small object the size of the tip of her finger. It looked like a black chip of sorts.
"This is a tracking device to make sure I know where you are at all times. This will keep you safe for the time being." She said.
Elio took the chip, curiously inspected it before he tried to put it in his pocket. However, Fiona shook her head.
"No, here, let me put it for you." She said.
Then, she took the chip and did something that shocked Elio. Putting her hand on his head, she ran her fingers through his hair, emptying a space at the back before planting it there and then readjusting his hair gently.
It all happened so smoothly that for a second, Elio thought he was imagining things. Frozen in place, he stared at the girl.
’Wha... What the hell was that?’ He yelled in his mind. This was the very first time Fiona had touched him in such a way. He had known before that she wasn’t much of a physical person; she didn’t like being touched by anyone, and he had even seen rumors about her not even liking her fiancé’s touch. Yet, she had done this so casually, as if it were something natural.
"Be careful on the way home. I will be dealing with some matters in the meantime." She said softly before opening the door for them.
The boy took a second to recover from the shock before he nodded and picked up his bag up.
She then led him to the estate entrance and bid him farewell.
Elio then took a taxi back home, and the moment he stepped inside the apartment, Melissa jumped on him, hugging him tightly.
"Welcome back home, honey~" She said.
"Yeah, I’m back." He said as he hugged her back.
"I missed you so much."
"We were literally together an hour ago..."
"An hour ago is one hour too much!" She retorted as she pulled away.
"Yeah, yeah... But, I want to talk about something."
"Hm?"
"Fiona wants me to move out of this apartment. She thinks it’s too dangerous for me, and she can’t help me if something happens."
"What...? Already?"
"Yeah."
"But, you don’t need to do that, I can protect you way better than she ever could," Melissa said.
"Well, do you want me to tell her that the queen of vampires is actually my friend and she can protect me?" He asked rhetorically.
"..."
"This is the only option. She would be very suspicious if I refused. I have no reason not to in her eyes."
Melissa looked disappointed.
"I’m sorry, we can still see each other every day. But, I can’t really stay here." He said.
"No, no, I understand. It’s better if you go." She replied with a sad smile. "I wouldn’t want to make your life harder."
Pursing his lips, Elio stood up and approached her. "I promise we will see each other every day as usual, ok? You won’t feel like I have gone anywhere."
"Really?" She asked.
"Yes, it’s a promise." He said.
"Hug me then. I want you to seal the promise with a hug."
Elio frowned and wanted to refuse, but then, he realized... She wasn’t teasing him. Staring into her eyes, all he saw was sadness. There wasn’t a shred of playfulness within it. Then, he remembered, even though Melissa is a very playful person, she still feels for him and genuinely likes him.
She enjoys their time together a lot, especially at night when they can talk and do all kinds of things.
His heart warmed up without him realizing. She just looked so adorable like that. So, instinctively, he wrapped his arms around her into a hug. The woman’s eyes widened slightly,
"It’s a promise. Nothing will change about us. We are still friends, and we will always be friends no matter what." His words were soft and kind to the point where Melissa shuddered hearing them.
"Mhm... I know."
"So no need to worry, ok?"
"Mhm."
For a few minutes, the two stood there, sharing a nice moment. For a friendship that had changed so much in a matter of days, somehow, Elio only felt closer to Melissa ever since. For some reason, knowing she’s a vampire and yet seeing how kind she was to him... It only made him understand her more.
The two were so different, and yet at the same time so similar.

"Woah... This is the penthouse?"
The next day, Elio was brought to a large skyscraper, the tallest one in the entire city. Then, he and Fiona used the elevator to reach the highest floor, where she unlocked the door to show him a true heaven.
A large, luxurious penthouse overlooking the entire city. It was huge, taking over the entire floor. There was a pool, a kitchen, three bedrooms, a spa, a jacuzzi, and even a personal gym, and many other facilities.
It had everything one would even think of and more.
"Yes, I hope it’s up to your liking. We can make some changes if there are stuff you would prefer." Fiona said.
"What? No, no, this is perfect."
’What would I even want changed?? This is far beyond anything I could’ve imagined.’
"Well, feel free to tell me if you ever need anything. That will be your bedroom over there, and mine is here. I have made sure to get you different types of bedsheets if you need a certain type-"
"Wait, wait, wait, wait." Elio suddenly stopped her with a stunned expression on his face. "You’re going to be living here?!"
