My Vampire Wives Want My Blood!-Chapter 62- Deadly Will (Part 1)
Chapter 62- Deadly Will (Part 1)
"Fiona... Fiona?!" Elio called for her again and again with no answer. The girl has fainted from blood loss. "Shit, shit, shit!! Please don’t die, Fiona!"
Looking around him, Elio tried to think of a solution. They were extremely far away from the cabin, and contacting anyone immediately was impossible. It would take them way too long to arrive.
So, he did the best thing he could think of. Taking his shirt off, he wrapped it around Fiona’s torso tightly in a hopeless attempt to stop the bleeding. Even though the biting cold assaulted his body immediately, he didn’t care or even think for a second.
Shockingly, or perhaps because of Fiona’s inhumane healing abilities, the shirt slowed the bleeding down considerably.
’This should do for now. I have to get her back to safety immediately and call her butler!’ Elio cursed as he lifted Fiona gently and put her over his back. Luckily, she was very light, so he didn’t struggle to do that. Then, he picked up her bloodied sword and tried to turn around and walk in the direction Fiona came from.
"Hold on for a bit, Fiona. You will be fine. I promise you will be fine." He said with a desperate tone as he tried to start running. However, at that moment, the boy felt a chill run down his spine. A familiar feeling he has been experiencing for several hours now. He stopped, his eyes frozen with shock as he slowly looked over his shoulder.
There, much to his horror, he saw one of those large white creatures crawling toward him out of the darkness at a terrifying speed. Elio’s heart sank down as his survival instinct kicked in. Without even thinking, he dashed forward at top speed.
’This is bad! This is so bad!!’ He cursed inwardly. As if the situation was horrible enough already, with Fiona dying in his arms, there were more of these nightmarish creatures.
For several minutes, Elio was chased around the forest. With Fiona on his back, he was slower than before, not even that he was fast enough to escape to begin with.
*SLAM*
Reaching him, the monster tried to slam its fist on him. However, the boy was able to dodge at the very last second, barely avoiding a devastating hit that could’ve killed Fiona.
"Hah! Fuck! Fuck!!!!!" He cursed as he jumped over a dead tree and continued running. ’Where should I go? Where should I even go?!’
Every path looked the same, and every tree looked the same. He didn’t even know what to look for.
Meanwhile, Fiona rested silently against his back, completely unconscious. Her blood had soaked through the shirt and into Elio’s back. Now, the boy was covered head to toe in her blood.
He was terrified, cold, and confused. But, for some reason, he didn’t feel like giving up.
’I’m not going to let you die! I won’t! I will figure something out!’
*Smash*
The monster reached him and slammed its hand again. The boy was ready as he dodged to the side and continued running. The monster was seemingly irritated by his constant escape and tried to chase him again, more aggressively.
Elio ran through the thick trees, pushing them out of his way, one by one. Until he eventually emerged into an opening. For a second, he thought he found the cabin again. However, much to his misfortune, all he saw was a dead end... A cliff that went down into the unknown.
He looked over his shoulder; the sound of the monster rushing through the trees was loud as ever. He frowned before he looked at Fiona.
"..." Pursing his lips in frustration, he quickly pulled Fiona down and then picked her up in front of him.
Then, he sucked a deep breath and stepped forward. At the same time, the monster emerged from the trees as it lunged at him. But, before it could catch him, Elio jumped off the cliff, wrapping his arms tightly around Fiona as he flipped around to make sure he took all the hits. At the same time, he channeled all his energy, creating the strongest barrier around both of them that he could muster.
He closed his eyes and let the cold, biting air take him as the whistling loudened. He was free-falling.
The monster stopped at the edge as it stared down. The boy and the girl disappeared completely out of sight.
For a few seconds, Elio didn’t feel anything, but he knew the crash was imminent. Hell, it could even be deadly, but was there really any other option? He was stuck, with no way to escape, and this was a relatively higher chance of survival than to try and fight that thing.
Not that long after, Elio felt his body slam into what he could only guess were trees. He passed through the branches, getting cut ruthlessly as he slammed from one branch into the other. He covered Fiona’s head and body from all impact until they finally passed the thick branches and slammed into the ground violently.
"Agh!" He groaned in pain as he coughed. He felt sharp pain in his back and legs, but he clenched his teeth and looked at Fiona to check her condition. Luckily, the girl didn’t seem to have suffered any injuries.
The barrier had protected her.
"Hah... Hah... Hah... We survived... We survived." Elio muttered before he quickly rose up to check her pulse. It was weak but not dangerously weak.
’She doesn’t have long. I need to get her help as soon as possible.’ He clenched his teeth.
However, the question now was... Where was he even? Looking around him, all he could see was vast stretches of forest. He had fallen down a cliff, so the chances of him going back were impossible.
His only chance of survival now was to continue forward. So, even though he was in great pain and even though he could tell his back was bleeding, he swallowed all that pain and picked Fiona up.
"I will find help, Fiona. Just... wait a bit." He muttered as he started running through the forest.
"Hahaha... He is going somewhere where he shouldn’t~ This is getting far more exciting than I thought. So, show me. What are you going to do, oh sinner of all sinners?" A voice spoke in the empty space, unheard by anyone in the world, and yet carried immense strength.
Elio was unaware of it all; his only concern was Fiona. It didn’t matter what he had to do or what he had to face; he was going to protect her until they found help. Whether that cost him his life or not was irrelevant.
At that moment, Elio had forgotten completely about his well-being.

*An hour later*
Elio came to a halt at a random tree to catch his breath. He was sweating profusely, and his heart was racing violently. After running for almost the entire night, he had to run even more, this time, injured and without clothes to cover his skin from the harsh weather. He was starting to feel numb in all of his limbs, and that only made running even more brutal.
Had Fiona not been injured and had he not taken an oath on himself to save her, he would’ve collapsed right there and then. But, with sheer will and burning desire, he didn’t stop.
Instead, he checked on the girl. She was breathing faintly into his shoulder, and her face was still deadly pale... But she was relatively fine.
’I wonder if she brought her phone with her.’ He mused as he put her down and checked her pockets. Surprisingly, she did.
Only to realize the next second that it had been shattered in the impact.
"... Sigh... I will find another way."
