My Vampire Wives Want My Blood!-Chapter 42- Blood On My Hands (Part 1)
Chapter 42- Blood On My Hands (Part 1)
The laps beyond that only got harder and harder, and Elio found himself getting completely wrecked like yesterday. However, at this point, his resilience has only gotten better, and his ability to handle pain has improved, so he was able to force his tired body through the laps, even when he felt like the entire world was spinning.
By the time he reached the 80th lap, he dropped to the ground, completely spent and exhausted. His body was sweating profusely, and his Blood Energy worked overtime to quickly heal and replenish his lost strength.
[You have gained +1 point in strength.]
[You have gained +1 point in stamina.]
"Hah... Hah... Hah... Good..." He muttered under his breath, feeling satisfied with the progress.
"Impressive, Elio. You have done well." Fiona said as she threw him a potion. "We will be moving to the next part shortly after a small break."
"Yeah.." Drinking the potion, Elio felt his body rapidly regain energy and vigor.
The next parts of the training weren’t that much different. Intense and thorough training of every muscle in his body. Fiona’s goal was to constantly push his body to the extreme so he could grow and then recover, and then push it to the extreme again. Normally, such a method would wreck a normal human being and make them suffer terrible injuries. But Elio was far from normal.
His Blood Energy increased his recovery speed and all his vital systems by at least a few dozen times. It gave him the ability to do extremely intense training and then recover enough to continue in a few minutes. This method, while very taxing mentally, was perfect for fast and meticulous growth.
A growth that made Fiona shocked.
[You have gained + 2 points in strength.]
[You have gained +1 point in health.]
The notifications simply kept rolling in, and Elio found himself constantly getting better. The sensation of each added point was deep. He could tell he was getting stronger and very quickly at that.
"How are you feeling, Elio?"
After the end of the training session, Fiona asked Elio.
"I’m feeling really good. The growth is so noticeable and very fast. I feel like I’m considerably better than yesterday."
"Yeah, your growth will only accelerate from now on. When you start absorbing the blood of your enemies, you will see what the true growth is like."
’He is already growing at the rate of someone who hunts vampires daily, and yet he hasn’t absorbed blood yet. I don’t even want to imagine the kind of evolution he will undergo once he starts doing that.’ She mused.
"In any case, you have done enough for today. Go back home to rest, and we will continue tomorrow." She said with a calm tone.
"Mm, thank you for today, Fiona."
"Don’t worry about it. I haven’t done much aside from supervising your progress."
"That is more than enough. I really rely on you." Elio smiled widely at Fiona, catching her by surprise. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
That smile... That exact smile. She didn’t know why, but it was simply eye-catching every single time he did it. It draws her in effortlessly. Like a rare gem that she has to stare at from afar in awe, or perhaps like a bright, warm light that casts its rays upon her. Elio’s smile was just... different.
"Anyway, I will head out now. Goodnight."
"... Ah, yeah, goodnight. Ehem..." Coughing awkwardly, Fiona guided Elio to the exit and watched him leave. Her eyes stared at his back, a bit confused and conflicted.
’Why does it make me feel like that?’ She asked herself. ’His smile...’

"Hm, hm, hm..." Humming jovially, Elio walked back home, feeling in a great mood. Today had been very productive again, and he had done a lot. He really enjoyed his time training, even though it was tough.
"I should buy dinner instead of cooking. I’m so tired." He muttered as he headed to his favorite fast-food restaurant near his apartment.
There, Elio stopped to grab a nice meal. "23.45... That’s expensive but... It shouldn’t be a problem, right?"
Muttering to himself, Elio instinctively reached for his phone in his pocket to check his balance. However...
"Hm?" He frowned as he touched his empty pocket, then touched the other, and then all his other pockets. "Where is my phone?" He frowned as he pulled his bag out and started searching.
However, there was no sight of it anywhere. ’Did I forget it at Fiona’s house? No, I don’t remember that...’
His memory went back to a few hours ago, and it didn’t take him long to remember. He had put it in his desk drawer and forgot it. He usually does that because it bothers him in his pocket, and he can’t put it in his backpack for fear of it breaking. Yet, he had forgotten about it this time since he had to leave in a hurry.
’Dammit, now I have to go and get it back.’ Cursing under his breath, Elio stood up and started walking out. Luckily, his school wasn’t that far away from there.
It was already very dark, but he knew that the school only closed around 9 PM since there were still club activities in the gymnasium outside the main building.
After walking for a few minutes, Elio found himself standing at the gates. They were partially closed, but it only took him a push to get inside. The inside was naturally dark except for the light coming from a few classrooms and the gymnasium at the back.
’I don’t want anyone to see me, so let’s get this over with quickly.’ Sneaking his way inside, he headed to his class in a hurry, avoiding all possibilities of getting caught. His classroom was dark, so he snuck in and closed the door.
Walking to his desk, he pulled it out and picked up his phone.
"I should do something about forgetting you here. This isn’t the first time." He grumbled as he pocketed it and walked out again.
Then, he started making his way back to the bottom floor to leave. The corridors were completely dark and quiet, and the sounds of distant people made it rather eerie. However, Elio didn’t really mind it.
Reaching the stairs, he started going down floor by floor. However, at the third floor, he stopped as he heard something nearby. It wasn’t the sound of students nor the sound of a door opening... Rather, the sound was odd.
Very... odd.
’What’s that?’ He frowned as he walked into the third floor and peered to the right. There was no one there. But, he could swear the noise is nearby.
’Should I really go check? Is this any of my business?’ He asked himself. ’No. Clearly not, so let’s just leave.’
Deciding to take the safe choice, he turned around, intending to leave. Whatever was happening was truly none of his business. However, at that very moment, through the noise, he heard something that made his entire body freeze.
"S-Save... me..."
It was a faint, weak cry for help. One filled with despair and hopelessness. A cry of death.
Suddenly, Elio looked over his shoulder, his eyes wide and focused. ’What... is happening there?’
