My Ultimate OP System: Summoning All Dragons, Gods, Heroes & Villains-Chapter 122: “That girl… The Princess… She’s a monster.”
Towards Evening Of The Same Day...
The Princess sat at a corner table in Ernie’s Cafe.
Isabella seemed to be having a cheerful discussion with her friends; Marcus, the boy with glasses and Renie, the elven girl with long brown hair tied.
Rayleigh sat across from Isabella at the same table. Hpaid no mind to their discussion, instead taking occasional sips from his drink while staring out the window at passersby on the street.
-
Meanwhile, within an extremely large living room...
This was one of Lucien’s places. Well, one of them. Hidden in secret and concealed beneath Martina’s cloaking spell so that no one could trace its location or detect its presence.
Greta floated above a glowing magic circle etched into the surface of the rug beneath her. Her legs were crossed between each other in midair with her back perfectly straight. Her eyes were closed, and two magic circles glowed over each of her open palms as she maintained focus.
She was casting a scrying spell.
Spells like this, allowed a caster to project their awareness across distances and observe people or places remotely without being physically present.
Lucien was standing before her and watching carefully with his arms crossed. Martina was beside him, and Eula was seated on one of the couches nearby with a drink in hand, observing quietly.
Greta’s voice broke the silence without opening her eyes: "I can’t seem to get to Ethan Stark. There’s something interfering with my spell."
"Cloaking?" Lucien asked thoughtfully.
Greta shook her head. "No. If it were a cloaking spell, it would feel like he doesn’t exist at all... but this feels like a wall or barrier blocking my entrance entirely."
"And what of the princess he was seen with?" Lucien asked.
"Just a moment," Greta said.
The magic circles hovering over her palms rotated differently for a moment as she adjusted the spell’s focus.
Then she spoke again: "I’ve made contact."
In Greta’s vision, everything appeared shadowy and distorted, but she could make out vague shapes and figures.
She saw the princess sitting at a table in what looked like a bar. There were drinks on the table in front of her, and two other people sat nearby engaged in conversation.
"Where?" Lucien asked.
"Some sort of bar or cafe, I think," Greta replied. "I don’t spot Ethan Stark with her."
-
But right then, back at Ernie’s Cafe...
Isabella’s smile suddenly faded from her face mid-conversation. Her expression went blank as though something had pulled her attention.
Her friends immediately noticed the change.
"Hey, Bella?" Marcus said with concern in his voice.
Rayleigh then noticed as well and asked more directly: "What is it, sister?"
But instead of replying to either of them, Isabella turned her head backward just slightly, staring off into nothing as though searching for something behind her.
-
Right then, in Greta’s vision...
It looked as if the Princess had suddenly turned around and stared directly back at her.
The next thing that followed in Greta’s subconscious was a mass of suffocating darkness that formed into a monstrous entity with red glowing eyes, something vast and incomprehensible that filled every corner of her sight.
And then it surged forward toward her like a wave crashing down with overwhelming force, and forcibly kicked her out of the trance state.
-
Greta’s eyes quickly opened up in real life, with terror on her face as sweat dripped down her forehead. She gasped for air as though she had just been drowning.
Lucien looked puzzled as he stared at her reaction. "What happened?"
Greta’s voice trembled slightly as she spoke: "That girl... the princess... she’s a monster."
Everyone in the room had widened gazes at that statement.
-
Back at the cafe...
Isabella had turned back toward Rayleigh and said calmly, "Just now... someone tried to spy on me."
Her friends looked confused by that statement. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
Rayleigh asked immediately: "What do you mean?"
"It has to be a scry spell," Isabella said thoughtfully as she stared down at the table for just a moment before looking back up at him with concern in her eyes.
Then she turned toward Marcus and Renie and said apologetically, "Guys, I’m sorry but I think I have to go now... You both should leave as well."
They both glanced at each other first before looking back at Bella with confusion still on their faces.
Renie asked, "Is something the matter?"
"I hope not," Isabella said as she stood up from her seat and grabbed her coat from the back of her chair. "But I really do have to go now."
Marcus nodded slowly while Renie did the same after him.
Isabella gave them both one last apologetic smile before turning toward Rayleigh and gesturing for him to follow her out of the cafe.
Rayleigh stood up without another word and followed close behind as they both left Ernie’s.

Scrying spells operated under a few specific mechanics and rules.
A scrying spell was only as effective as its tier determined. For instance, a Tier 6 scrying spell, like the one Greta had just used, would work in most cases when cast to spy on any target of a lower talent level than the caster.
If the target was on the same level as the caster, it might take some time and effort, but the spell would eventually work.
All of this, however, was provided that the target was not under a cloaking spell or using an interference spell of the same tier strength as the scry spell itself. In those cases, the scrying attempt would be blocked entirely.
If the target was one with a higher talent level than the caster, the scry spell would, in most cases, not work at all. The disparity in power would cause the spell to simply fail upon contact.
But if the target was one "Above The Normal", most of whom fell under the Grand Class—persons like the King, or the Princess, as Greta had just experienced firsthand—it was downright stupid to even make the attempt to scry on them.
It was hard to tell what complications or consequences might follow such an attempt. And in Greta’s case, she had just found out.
