Chapter 778: Extra Story: The Big BOSS’s Little Wife (45)

In reality, the first person to notice Ye Anhao was not him, but his driver. The driver had only met Ye Anhao a few times, but he deeply imprinted her in his mind. It wasn’t because Ye Anhao was exceptionally beautiful, nor because he had feelings for her, but because in all the years he had been with Ouyang Che, this was the first time he saw Ouyang Che actively dealing with a girl, so he remembered Ye Anhao.

The driver’s gaze lingered on a girl by the roadside for a few seconds before finally confirming that it was Ye Anhao. He then said, "Chief, it seems Miss Ye didn’t bring an umbrella. Should we give her a ride?"

Upon hearing this, Ouyang Che turned his eyes to look outside the window. Once he figured out who the "Miss Ye" mentioned by the driver was, his face suddenly turned cold.

"Since when did you start liking to meddle in other people’s business?"

The man’s voice was chilling, and his gaze was as sharp as a knife. The driver regretted it immediately, wondering why he had overstepped. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖

The SUV did not slow down and drove straight past Ye Anhao, splashing mud and water, once again drenching her from head to toe.

Ye Anhao smiled bitterly. She thought this outfit might never be wearable again.

After the car had driven about a kilometer, the man suddenly spoke, "Turn around."

Although it was just two words, the meaning behind them was more than obvious. The driver felt a wave of relief, thinking his sixth sense had not failed him; it seemed the chief indeed treated that girl differently.

So, the SUV eventually turned back and stopped beside Ye Anhao.

The man rolled down the window, looking coldly at the soaking wet Ye Anhao. His thin lips parted slightly, "Get in the car!"

The unfamiliar yet familiar voice made Ye Anhao stop dead in her tracks. She did not turn her head because she knew exactly who the voice belonged to.

She hated Ouyang Che so much that she couldn’t be bothered to pay attention to him.

What she didn’t know was that people like Ouyang Che, who were used to giving orders, did not like others defying them. Her silent rebellion appeared ridiculous to him.

He stepped out of the car, took a few swift steps to catch up with her, and without a word, carried her horizontally, ignoring her resistance, and placed her directly into the car, throwing her onto the back seat.

The sudden turn of events left Ye Anhao a bit stunned. She never imagined that Ouyang Che would be so audacious as to pick her up and put her in the car in front of everyone.

Once inside, her first reaction was to get out of the car. However, the driver suddenly locked the door.

"Let me out!" Ye Anhao glared furiously at the man beside her. She knew it was useless to talk to the driver, so she said it for Ouyang Che to hear.

Ouyang Che’s icy gaze swept over her slowly, and he said lightly, "Let you out? So you can go out looking like a mess and scare people?"

Although Ouyang Che’s words were harsh, he was not exaggerating. Ye Anhao indeed looked very disheveled. Her hair was a tangled mess, her clothes wrinkled and wet, and even her once pretty face had become unsightly.

Ye Anhao was aware of how wretched she looked but didn’t want to engage with Ouyang Che. She always disliked him and only wanted to stay far away from him to avoid any trouble.

What she didn’t know was that some things cannot be avoided just because you want to.
