Chapter 491: Chapter 491: She Shyly Looked at Him

"Alright." Melody Thorne slipped her hand into Jared Quinn’s big palm, walking into the ward with him, her soft, fair features sporting a smile. "Which family’s girl is she? Can we know in advance?"

There was a deep meaning hidden in Melody Thorne’s bright eyes. She was certain that Mr. Quinn’s affairs were not unrelated to him, and suddenly there was another girlfriend; this woman must not be easy to deal with.

Titus Quinn lowered his head and remained silent for dozens of seconds. The sound of high heels echoed from outside the ward when he finally looked up. "She’s here."

The woman had just walked into the ward.

Both Melody Thorne and Mr. Quinn’s gaze simultaneously turned towards her, and with just one glance, their expressions subtly changed.

"Hi, Young Master Jared, Melody, long time no see." Sheryl Lancaster greeted them cheerfully, her friendly face hiding a sinister intent.

After the Lancaster Family fell, she had nowhere to go and was tormented over these days. If she hadn’t cleverly approached Titus Quinn to demonstrate her remaining value, she would have been left wandering among those despicable men, at their leisure!

"It’s been a long time." Melody Thorne curled her lips into a smile, her bright eyes crescent-shaped, as if there hadn’t been any unpleasantness between her and Sheryl Lancaster before. On the contrary, they seemed to have had a good relationship in the past. "Titus Quinn is truly fortunate to have found a girlfriend like Ms. Lancaster."

Sheryl Lancaster had expected Melody Thorne to be shocked upon seeing her, yet she could still smile at her.

Indeed, after all, the last time, the winner was she!

Mr. Quinn naturally knew about the Lancaster Family’s downfall, but he didn’t know Sheryl Lancaster’s character, nor did he know what past grievances she had with the Quinn Family.

"Grandpa, although the Lancaster Family has gone bankrupt, the love between Sheryl and me is genuine. I don’t need her to do anything, I just hope we can live like ordinary people," Titus Quinn said, looking in Sheryl Lancaster’s direction.

And Sheryl Lancaster shyly looked at him, the two of them complementing each other flawlessly.

As Melody Thorne watched this dazzling scene, she was reminded of past events. Titus Quinn had always liked hiding in the shadows, Jared Quinn cared about brotherly love, and Sheryl Lancaster was a flaw in it all.

After all, she’s just as selfish...

If nothing unexpected happens, Titus Quinn would use her, but she would also use Titus Quinn to obtain certain things. These two are like dogs that would bite each other sooner or later.

Jared Quinn looked down at the little woman beside him, her cunning appearance clearly plotting something.

He still remembered the time she accidentally saved him!

"Grandpa, let’s eat first," Melody Thorne said, opening the lunchbox she was holding. "It’s all your favorite food, be sure to recover quickly. Right now, there’s nothing for you to worry about with your two grandsons."

"Yes, yes, Melody is right," Mr. Quinn gasped heavily a few times, already feeling somewhat exhausted after sitting for a while.

Melody Thorne picked up the meal and fed it to the old man spoonful by spoonful, without anyone telling him the real condition he was in.

"Grandpa, how about Titus and I stay tonight to take care of you?" Sheryl Lancaster volunteered.

The old man didn’t particularly like Sheryl Lancaster but didn’t say anything, as long as she seemed good-tempered. More than ten years ago, he took Titus Quinn to pray at a temple, where a friend had straightforwardly told him that Titus had a heavy aura of hostility, making him unsuitable to be with a cunning woman with an opposing temperament.

That could very likely be fatal for him.

"No need, no need, Grandpa’s old; with you young ones serving him, it’s uncomfortable. Go home, go home; there are caretakers here watching over me, you’re not needed."
