My Super Sassy Dad: Stop Running Away, Mrs. Quinn!-Chapter 420: Walking Away
Because the uncle there is very tall, he can’t resist, but his dad certainly can, so he decided to call his dad,
That way, at least that man won’t lure her away,
If he’s with his dad, he can see her every day.
Melody Thorne "..."
"Did you misunderstand something, baby?" Melody Thorne cupped Timmy’s small face with her hands, "Let me tell you, what you see may not always be the truth."
"But what you see can be more poignant," Timmy tried to hug her.
"Timmy, go back upstairs," Jared Quinn interrupted.
Timmy withdrew his hands, looking seriously at Jared Quinn, "Don’t forget what we agreed on."
"Go on."
Timmy jumped off the sofa and ran upstairs with little steps.
Melody Thorne moved around the sofa to sit in the spot where Timmy was just sitting, "What did you two agree on?"
Jared Quinn tossed the iPad aside, his large hand pulling her into his embrace, his cold eyes, like deep ink, fixed on her, "Melody Thorne, if I find out you’ve been associating ambiguously with other men, I won’t let you off the hook."
"You’re suspicious of me?" Melody Thorne gently bit her lower lip, knowing he heard the reason Caleb was following her yesterday, yet today he doubts her.
Doesn’t he love her enough, or why would he doubt her so easily?
In Jared Quinn’s dark eyes, an elusive light flickered, particularly when the old man asked her to sign that agreement, her hesitation...
It seems... it’s been a long time since she said she loved him.
Jared Quinn’s large hand reached behind Melody Thorne, pulling down the zipper on her back.
Right now, he wants to hear it, desperately wants to hear it, to hear her soft voice saying over and over that she loves him.
"Let go!" Melody Thorne’s hand reached behind to stop the zipper that’s slowly moving down, and she got off Jared Quinn’s lap altogether.
"If you’re suspicious of me, why touch me? I don’t want to be touched by you right now!" Melody Thorne zipped up her back angrily, her beautiful eyes showing a trace of anger as she walked upstairs, slamming the bedroom door behind her.
Jared Quinn’s hand slowly tightened around the thin small screen beside him, which was visibly deforming with the naked eye.
"Idiot, dummy! Big stonehead," Melody Thorne vented her anger from the depths of her heart.
She has already denied her ties to the Seymour Family to stay here, isn’t that enough to prove everything?
If it were before, she would have left long ago!
"Ding–" A picture came to her phone; it was a photo of an old man, the walls all white, a hospital bed in the center with a person lying on it, hair grey, eyes tightly shut, with an oxygen mask, appearing to be on the verge of death.
Melody Thorne felt a slight ache in her heart, her eyes unknowingly reddening.
She didn’t know why, but it hurt...
The contact note in the text message was Caleb; he sent her the picture, not a single word, just an empty image.
Melody Thorne turned off her phone, knowing Caleb was trying to take her away from here, if he doesn’t speak she won’t ask.
Footsteps sounded from downstairs, Melody Thorne immediately threw her phone into a drawer and closed her eyes pretending to sleep.
The bedroom door opened, Jared Quinn’s gaze fell upon the bed, his long fingers undoing his clothes one by one, then getting into bed, his strong body embracing her from behind, as if holding a soft pillow...
