My Super Sassy Dad: Stop Running Away, Mrs. Quinn!-Chapter 418: Acting Foolish
"Alright, my good daughter."
"Bang!" A loud noise came from outside the ward, as if something had been kicked and broken.
"Rochelle, what was that sound?" Mrs. Thorne glanced outside.
But Rochelle Thorne blocked Mrs. Thorne’s line of sight. "Maybe it’s some frustrated patient venting, Mom. We don’t need to bother with it."
"Okay."
Rochelle Thorne picked up the breakfast that Finn Thorne had just brought and opened it in front of Mrs. Thorne. "Mom, come have some breakfast. I especially went back to the Thorne Family to make it. I didn’t see Finn Thorne all night yesterday. Who knows where he went to hang out this time."
...
Outside the hospital, Melody Thorne drove to the location specified by Nina King to attend a wrap party.
As soon as she got out of her car, a man got out of the car that had been following her for a long time. His white suit and extraordinary appearance immediately caught the attention of many bystanders, and he kept a consistent distance behind Melody Thorne.
With his hands in his suit pockets, he carried a hint of arrogance and nonchalance.
Initially, Melody Thorne could pretend not to see, but the noise from behind gradually grew louder.
"Look, look, isn’t that President Caleb? What’s he doing here?"
"Why do I feel like he’s been following that lady in front?"
"Oh my, is he chasing after a girl?"
The voices grew more numerous from behind, and Melody Thorne clenched her hand, choosing not to head directly to the private room Nina King mentioned. Instead, she turned into the restroom.
As soon as she entered, a tall figure leaned against the restroom door.
Fortunately, there was no one else there, or there would definitely have been screams from him leaning against the ladies’ restroom door.
The restroom door opened, and Melody Thorne pulled Caleb inside, her eyes filled with anger. "I told you, I’m not the one you’re looking for. Why are you still following me?"
Caleb glanced down at her hand gripping his shirt, his handsome face expressionless. "I have a contract with the Seymour Family. Now that the target has been confirmed as you, I can only stay by your side. The terms are clear — at least twenty years."
"I choose to terminate the contract now; you’re seriously affecting my normal life." Melody Thorne wished she could strangle the man in front of her.
What was she thinking when she got involved with him in the first place?
Caleb’s gaze rested on her solemnly. "I doubt you have the ability to terminate the contract. Do you even know where the contract is?"
"Where is it?"
"At the Seymour Family. Unless you go back and retrieve it, you’ll always have me by your side."
"Do you think I’m a three-year-old child? If I go back with you now, it would be asking for trouble. Would I even come back alive?" Melody glared angrily at the man in front of her.
"Maybe the Seymour Family needs you now. What’s so good about that Jared Quinn, anyway? You haven’t fallen for him again, have you?"
Caleb had already asked this countless times. He dreaded the occurrence of such a thing.
"There won’t be a good outcome between you two. Rather than ending in mutual harm, it’s better to leave now."
"I don’t know what you’re talking about." Melody turned away. "Stop following me."
She headed towards the private room Nina King mentioned, and after a few seconds of silence, the man behind her followed once more.
Outside the private room, reporters who heard the news gathered outside, immediately swarming Melody Thorne as she appeared.
