My Super Sassy Dad: Stop Running Away, Mrs. Quinn!-Chapter 377: Why Did You Hit Me?
"What special circumstances?" Sheryl Lancaster opened her eyes. "Isn’t it supposed to start? Saving Timmy is urgent; what could be more important than that?"
Dr. Mo didn’t explain anything. "Miss Lancaster, just come with me first."
A bit confused, Sheryl Lancaster followed Dr. Mo into a hospital room, still unsure of what was happening.
Long before she changed into the hospital gown, those people had already taken all her belongings, including her phone.
"I miscalculated the time just now," Dr. Mo glanced at his watch, "it starts in half an hour. In the meantime, Miss Lancaster, please sit here and rest, preferably with your eyes closed to relax."
"But..." Sheryl Lancaster stood up, "Can I have my phone?"
"Sorry, not now. Miss Lancaster, just think of it as for the sake of Mr. Duke and wait here peacefully for half an hour, okay?"
Sheryl Lancaster uneasily nodded.
Dr. Mo walked out. She didn’t know when he became so skilled at coaxing women. Probably because he had been appeasing patients for so long that he became adept at soothing women too.
Melody Thorne arrived at the hospital in twenty minutes, with Dr. Mo arranging for someone to greet her at the hospital’s back door, timing it perfectly.
Half an hour passed.
When Sheryl Lancaster heard footsteps outside again, she immediately stood up, thinking Dr. Mo was coming to take her to the ward, and that they were about to start saving Timmy.
But as she stepped out of the hospital room, she was met with a heavy slap that almost knocked her to the ground.
"Who... who hit me?" Sheryl Lancaster screamed.
"It was me," Melody said, having just finished a blood transfusion for Timmy, her voice sounding weak, her face as pale as paper.
Every time after a blood transfusion, she needed to consume a lot of supplements. However, if Timmy’s illness improved, he only had an episode once a year, so she could manage it.
"Melody Thorne?" Sheryl Lancaster was startled, looking in shock at the woman in front of her, instinctively retreating back into the room.
Didn’t she have Luna Lancaster lock her up? How could she be here? How did she get out?
"What? Are you unhappy to see me?" Melody walked over and slapped Sheryl Lancaster on the face again.
The thing she couldn’t tolerate was anyone using Timmy against her. Anyone who dared touch Timmy, she would never let them go!
"Melody Thorne, what right do you have to hit me?" Sheryl Lancaster raised her hand, intending to strike back, but when her gaze fell on Harold Chapman and Dr. Mo standing behind her, she didn’t dare to actually hit her.
Instead, she retracted her hand, feigning ignorance as to why Melody suddenly attacked.
"Melody Thorne, maybe you’ve misunderstood something? I’m here to save Timmy. It’s to save Timmy that I came here," Sheryl tried to garner sympathy. "My blood is useful for Timmy, right? Even if Mr. Duke were here, he wouldn’t let you lay a finger on me."
Melody walked over, gave a cold laugh, grasped Sheryl Lancaster’s collar with both hands, and violently shoved her to the ground. "Stop acting in front of me, Sheryl Lancaster. You deliberately made Timmy sick and you kidnapped me. Your silly sister already came to see me."
"I don’t understand. I don’t understand what you’re saying," Sheryl Lancaster continued to back up. "Mr. Duke isn’t here right now, you must be jealous of me, which is why you’re framing me. You’re jealous of me living in the mansion he prepared for me!"
"Jealous of you?" Melody responded as if she had heard the funniest joke, "What about you is there for me to be jealous of?"
"You..."
