My Super Sassy Dad: Stop Running Away, Mrs. Quinn!-Chapter 304: Which Aspect Do You Mean?
"Really?"
"I would never lie to Mr. Quinn, my niece knows it too. She only took a loss, there’s nothing illegal involved," Terence Thorne turned to look at Melody Thorne and gave her a knowing look, clearly reminding her that she had once said that as long as he saved Finn Thorne, she would never hand over those pieces of evidence to anyone.
"Second Uncle, is there something wrong with your eyes? Need me to call a doctor to have a look?" Melody Thorne smirked, pretending not to understand him.
"You," Terence Thorne’s face turned pale. He strode over and lowered his voice, "Don’t forget what you promised me."
"What did I promise you?" Melody Thorne bypassed him to stand by Jared Quinn, leisurely leaning into him. "Second Uncle, although I promised you to give you all those pieces of evidence from back then, now Jared insists that I give them to him. Who do you think I should give them to, you or him?"
Terence Thorne’s face drained of all color, his gaze at Jared Quinn was as if he was looking at the Grim Reaper, seemingly also seeing his own fate.
"I don’t know what evidence you’re talking about," Terence Thorne said coldly.
He realized he couldn’t plead with Jared Quinn anymore; Jared was clearly on Melody Thorne’s side. He needed to find another ally. The Thorne Group must not fall into Melody’s hands, even if it meant guarding it till his last breath.
"If you don’t know, Second Uncle, then just wait. In a couple of days, you’ll understand,"
Terence Thorne squinted ominously, waiting and observing. He refused to believe that the Thorne Group would collapse under Melody Thorne.
In the operating room, Finn Thorne was wheeled out from the hospital, his body fully wrapped in bandages, eyes closed, looking lifeless.
"Stop looking, he’ll be fine." Jared Quinn’s large hand covered Melody Thorne’s eyes, while he took out his phone and made a call, requesting Dr. Mo, who was currently abroad, to return to the country as soon as possible.
Melody Thorne wanted to follow into the ward, but a pair of big hands wound around her slender waist, pinning her against the window in an instant. Eyes as deep as antiquated ponds stared at her, sensual lips moving silently, "Don’t you have something to explain to me?"
"What aspect are you referring to?" Melody Thorne feigned ignorance.
Jared Quinn gazed into her eyes as if he could see through her soul, searching for what she intended to hide. "For instance, why is he targeting you instead of anyone else?"
"Moreover," Jared Quinn grasped her small hand, kneading it, the depths of his eyes like a deadly purgatory, "How did it feel to hold a gun and fire it?"
Melody Thorne bit her lip for a moment; at the moment she fired the gun, she indeed panicked. She feared Terence Thorne might die at her hand, feared her hands would be stained with blood, though she hadn’t intended to shoot.
"Firstly, I don’t know why he suddenly targeted me, maybe because I’m pretty and he had lustful thoughts. Secondly, the feeling of firing a gun wasn’t good."
"Utter nonsense," Jared Quinn used his hand to pinch her nose lightly, like a punishment, but apart from kissing her, he couldn’t do much about that little mouth of hers.
Melody Thorne lifted her face; her fair and clean features carried the allure women often possess, "Do you think I’m not pretty?"
Jared Quinn looked at her quietly, from head to toe, inside and out...
