Chapter 290: Chapter 290: Who Do You Think You Are?

"Come in."

Dr. Mo waited outside for a minute or two before hearing Jared Quinn’s voice inviting him in. He had already wiped a bit of sweat off his forehead silently.

Thankfully, he hadn’t barged in just now.

But, this was his office after all.

Walking in, Dr. Mo glanced around, not spotting any signs of intimacy. Melody Thorne was standing by the window, while Jared Quinn had taken over his seat.

"Are the results out?" Jared Quinn leaned back lazily, asking in a calm voice.

"Yes." Dr. Mo handed over the examination report. "Sheryl Lancaster’s blood indeed matches Timmy’s, it can be used." 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

"Use what!" Melody Thorne’s emotions were somewhat agitated and out of control. She strode over, grabbed the examination report from the table, ripped it to pieces, and threw it into the trash bin. "Her blood cannot be used! It just can’t be used."

How could Sheryl Lancaster’s blood match Timmy’s, she wasn’t Timmy’s biological mother.

"Please calm down, young madam. Even if you destroy the report, you can’t erase the facts. Moreover, using Miss Lancaster’s blood has many benefits for you, you won’t have to take supplements or drink bitter medicine anymore."

Every year, Timmy’s illness would flare up once. After all, he hadn’t stayed in the womb, and because of Leon Rivers’ medical error, there was this loophole.

"I don’t care what you say. I said it can’t be used and that’s the end of it!"

"Enough, stop arguing," Jared Quinn interjected. "Dr. Mo is right, Sheryl Lancaster can be a backup."

"No, no way, I don’t agree!" Melody Thorne straddled Jared Quinn’s lap, gripping his collar with reddened eyes, "I said I don’t agree, didn’t you hear me!"

Even if all the blood was drained from her body, she didn’t want Timmy to use that woman’s blood.

Jared Quinn looked down, seeing tears welling in her eyes. It was probably the first time he had seen Melody Thorne cry in front of him. His heart ached sharply. His large hand touched her back soothingly like comforting a child, letting her head rest against his broad chest. "Alright... we won’t consider using hers for now."

Yet Sheryl Lancaster would be kept as a backup, a consideration for later depending on Melody Thorne’s health.

"Mr. Quinn, Miss Lancaster is outside waiting; she says she wants to see you."

"Let her come in then."

Sheryl Lancaster walked in, unable to hide the joy on her face. The resemblance was uncanny, making her wonder if Timmy’s biological mother had never been found.

Could it be that this place was meant to be hers?

If Jared Quinn hadn’t kept his distance, she might have really believed so.

But seeing Melody Thorne nestled against Jared Quinn like a silkworm baby in broad daylight, her anger couldn’t help but rise.

Why could Melody Thorne have something she couldn’t?

"Mr. Quinn," Sheryl Lancaster called softly.

Melody Thorne lifted her head, coldness flashing in her dark eyes. She got off Jared Quinn and sat on the desk in front of him, blocking Sheryl Lancaster’s view of him.

"Miss Lancaster, your blood has been confirmed, but my husband and I just discussed it and decided not to use your blood, so thank you for your kindness. I’ll have the butler prepare some money for you as a token for your trouble."

Sheryl Lancaster’s gaze suddenly turned cold. Compensation for her trouble? Did she care for that little bit of compensation? Who exactly did Melody Thorne think she was?

"Miss Thorne, this decision should be made by Mr. Quinn. After all, young master Timmy is Mr. Quinn’s son, the sole heir of the Quinn family, not yours."
