My Super Sassy Dad: Stop Running Away, Mrs. Quinn!-Chapter 269: What Do You Know?
"Then I won’t say it," she merely gave Timothy Lockwood a hint.
"I answered the last question correctly; I want a prosperous shop on North Street. I’ll have someone send the contract to you another day, just transfer it under my name," she said.
Timothy Lockwood cried out in anguish, "Sister-in-law, you’re being too ruthless."
He just wanted to get some benefit from Melody Thorne. He thought even if he lost, Melody would only want small things that girls fancy, like jewelry, but he didn’t expect her to ask for something so harsh.
"It’s decided happily," Melody Thorne said, feeling very, very good, as if to say, ’I got you.’
After they finished playing cards, the other women left the private room. Jared Quinn and the few men were endlessly discussing the cooperation matters, but wouldn’t let her leave.
Melody Thorne felt an unbearable drowsiness creeping in, her head occasionally nodding, finally resting on Jared Quinn’s shoulder as she started to sleep soundly.
The contract discussions were nearly complete, with the soft body in his arms sleeping soundly, Jared Quinn found himself losing focus...
"Mr. Quinn... Mr. Quinn," the person’s voice was a bit louder, "What do you think about the plan we just discussed?"
As soon as he finished speaking, Melody Thorne’s body shivered as if startled by the voice.
Jared Quinn’s eyes immediately turned cold a few notches. He covered Melody Thorne’s ear with his large hand, shooting a chilling gaze at those people.
The private room fell silent immediately.
"The contract," Jared Quinn freed one hand,
and someone immediately handed him the cooperation plan they just drafted. Jared Quinn took it, carefully cradling the woman in his arms, and left.
Timothy Lockwood also followed along, acting as their driver, while Jared Quinn focused only on holding the woman in his arms.
Melody Thorne, drowsy and foggy, knew Jared Quinn was carrying her. She wanted to wake up but didn’t want to wake up either.
The Quinn Family.
Upon reaching the second-floor bedroom, Jared Quinn gently laid her on the bed, removing her dress. Facing her snow-white and temptingly alluring body, Jared Quinn’s breath quickened, but she was sleeping so soundly; he didn’t want to wake her.
He could only turn over and head to the bathroom.
Melody Thorne had a dream. In it, her parents from the Thorne family came back, but they didn’t recognize her, saying she wasn’t their daughter. She tried to grab them, but they pushed her away, saying they needed to find their biological daughter.
Suddenly, Melody Thorne awoke in shock, drenched in cold sweat. Only after surveying her surroundings did she realize she was back.
Downstairs.
"Young Master, Miss Lancaster has already come several times saying she wants to see you. She’s still outside waiting," the butler spoke.
"Not seeing her," Jared Quinn coldly refused.
"Ah, okay," the butler went out, "Miss Lancaster, you’d better go back. Our Young Master has too many things to handle today and doesn’t have time to see you." Sheryl Lancaster gritted her teeth in anger. Jared Quinn didn’t lack time to see her; he simply never intended to.
But several days had passed, and she insisted on seeing him,
"Tell him I know about Timmy’s situation; I can help him."
Of course, the butler knew about Timmy’s situation. For instance, when the Young Master married the young lady, it was because her blood matched with young Timmy’s, crucial for saving him in an emergency.
"What do you know?" the butler’s face darkened. The affairs of the Quinn family were a secret, especially concerning Timmy. No outsiders were allowed such knowledge.
