"You can pretend I don’t exist," Melody Thorne said as she looked around, then walked over and sat down on the sofa, trying her best to reduce her presence. "As long as you close your eyes, you won’t see me."

"You want me to act blind?" Jared Quinn not only didn’t withdraw his gaze, but rather, he kept staring at her without looking away for a moment.

"It hurts," Melody Thorne looked at her wrist, held by him, and softly exclaimed.

Jared Quinn’s hand almost instinctively loosened its grip on her, and his gaze immediately fell on Melody Thorne’s wrist. Although he had controlled his strength, Melody Thorne’s wrist had a milk-white quality that would bruise with even a slight force.

Melody Thorne unscrewed the medicine bottle, picked up a cotton swab nearby, and pulled open Jared Quinn’s hospital gown. The wound on his chest looked quite unbearable to behold.
