Chapter 2695: Chapter 2705: Don’t argue with me about this matter

"Hmm, Ashton Heath, I’ll listen to you." Joanna Lawrence leaned softly against his chest, listening to his steady and strong heartbeat. She could smell the warm and pleasant scent on him, and at that moment, she felt very happy.

"If I can find the time, I will come back to see you."

"Why bother? Just wait for me to visit you." Ashton couldn’t bear to make her tired, "I’m more flexible with my time. Plus, next month, I have a few deals to negotiate in Novabalia anyway. Just wait for me there and don’t go running around on your own, alright?"

"I wouldn’t be running around..."

"Baby, be good. Listen to me." Ashton’s gentle tone was laced with authority, "Don’t argue with me on this."

Joanna: "..."

"Alright." She nodded, "I won’t argue with you, and I’ll listen to you. Happy now? Can you let go of me? I need to pack."

"Off you go." Ashton seemed finally satisfied, smiling and ruffling her hair, "Once you’re done packing, I’ll help you double-check everything to make sure nothing has been left behind."

Joanna was going abroad for three months, so she had packed lots of luggage.

Ashton used two large suitcases to pack all of her belongings.

After they finished packing, Joanna felt hungry, so the couple went downstairs hand in hand to have some late-night snacks.

Thinking about their upcoming months of separation, Joanna offered to cook a late-night meal for Ashton.

"Tell me what you want to eat. If I can make it, it’ll be my pleasure." Joanna tied her hair into a bun hairstyle, put on an apron, and opened the fridge while she spoke.

Ashton stood at the kitchen doorway, watching her enthusiastic figure with a smile: "Are you offering to cook for me to repay me for the hard work of packing your luggage?"

"You could say that." Joanna nodded with a smile, "You packed my luggage, so I’ll cook you some late-night food. Besides, it’s been a long time since I’ve cooked for you. Didn’t you say you like my cooking?"

"Since you’re going out of your way to cook for me, of course, I won’t disappoint you." The playful laughter in Ashton’s dark eyes was full, and his gaze swept over the exquisite and beautiful girl before him. He spoke softly, "I love whatever you make, just decide."

"I should decide?"

"Yes, whatever you cook, I’ll eat." The man’s voice was low and magnetic, "As long as you make it, I won’t be picky."

In other words-

Only if Joanna made the food, then he wouldn’t be picky.

Actually, he was quite particular about food.

"Alright, then let me see what we have in the fridge." Joanna leaned in and glanced into the fridge, which was stuffed with a variety of foods– it had everything in abundance, nothing lacked.

"We shouldn’t eat anything too greasy at night, so I’ll make a few light side dishes and a pot of borscht. How does that sound?"

"Hmm, not bad."

"Then you shouldn’t stand here, go out and wait." Joanna took a few veggies out of the fridge and waved at Ashton, who stood with his back to her, "If you watch me cook, I’ll feel uneasy."

"Alright, I’ll go out. Are you sure you don’t need me as your sous-chef?"

"No need, just go out and wait."

"Alright, I’ll be looking forward to your late-night meal."
