My Scheming Little Devil-Chapter 859: Jumping into the Trap
"If we don’t go out and apologize, the reporters will only write more nonsense. And by ignoring them, shareholders will grow in number and in frustration. What if they start smashing the doors and causing trouble?"
A group of senior executives began to plead with great seriousness and desperation, they were nearly on the verge of getting down on their knees.
Ye Lu’s heart sank. Impressive, Jun Shi knew how to use public opinion to pressure her into submission. Unfortunately for them, she had a heart of stone and would never do anything that wasn’t in her own interest.
She was no fool; why would Jun Shi be so kind as to help Tian Kun without a hidden agenda? She certainly hadn’t forgotten about the last auction.
"Apologies, I will make them, but not now. In a couple of days, Third Young Master Jun and I will naturally hold an official press conference to explain everything."
"But how do we resolve the current problem?" The executives were all agitated and frustrated by her obstinate attitude.
"Wait until three o’clock in the afternoon, I guarantee they will leave on their own."
"Leave on their own? You’re not doing anything and just hoping for a miracle?" Jun Shi sneered.
Ye Lu’s gaze became sharp as she answered with icy sarcasm, "The one doing nothing here is you. Once the stock price climbs back up, what reason will they have to make a fuss? Let them soak up some sun outside. It might wake their brains up so they won’t be used by others."
Jun Shi scoffed, "The stocks have been plummeting for two days, climbing back up? You’re dreaming."
"Then just wait and see. If the price hasn’t gone up by then, I will go out and apologize right away. You shouldn’t have any complaint about that," Ye Lu said with disdain, no longer paying attention to Jun Shi.
Jun Shi’s face twisted in anger, and his eyes grew cold with contempt. He wanted to see what this woman could do, thinking the stock would certainly rise by the afternoon as if her word was all it took. Such an idiotic woman.
He walked away and immediately called a few shareholders of Tian Kun, instructing them to intensify their sell-off.
He promised them that afterward, they could buy back their original shares at a much lower price, and even gain an extra half on top of that.
The shareholders, enticed by the prospect of profit, certainly wouldn’t refuse since the stocks would eventually return to their hands anyway.
Ye Lu was also busy making calls. She contacted Feiyu and instructed him to keep a close eye on the few accounts that were selling off aggressively, to investigate who they were. Hmph, if Jun Shi wanted to mess with her, she wouldn’t let him off easily either.
She then called her cousin Vincent for advice on the best timing to buy in.
After that, she got in touch with Lunxi, and Hua Lunxi told her that his people were ready and waiting for her command.
Finally, Ye Lu breathed a sigh of relief. All she had to do now was wait.
Wait for Jun Shi to step into the trap.
The General Manager of Tian Kun rushed over in a panic: "Madam, it has fallen to 84.2, it wasn’t this bad even this morning. It started plummeting like a stone dropping into water in the past hour."
"Hmm," Ye Lu responded lazily, a glint of triumph flashing in her eyes. It seemed Jun Shi had just made a heavy move.
With just a lazy hum, the General Manager felt infuriated. Seeing her nonchalance was enough to drive him mad:
"Madam, don’t you realize, the media outside are all over the internet with their coverage, saying that your refusal to apologize to the shareholders and your arrogant attitude, refusing to admit any mistakes, are the reasons for this steep fall. If you keep this up, Tian Kun is really going to be ruined."
"Why the rush? It’s not three o’clock yet, and after two days of falling, you’re still this unsettled."
The General Manager was speechless. He had never seen someone so calm; with the stock falling like this, she was still enjoying her tea with such nonchalance.
Half an hour passed, and the stock was still falling. The General Manager became restless again, running around like a monkey with a scorched butt.
