My Scheming Little Devil-Chapter 847: A Guilty Conscience
"What, got quiet when accountability comes into question? But you’re indeed not a member of the Jun Family company, so there’s nothing I can do about you."
Jun Shi huffed and turned his attention to Jun Guanru and all the shareholders.
"However, someone must take responsibility for this Tian Kun project. Jun Huang is the person in charge of the entire project. With such a major issue arising, he must resign due to his failings. Moreover, I imagine the shareholders also have doubts about his capabilities. If he can mishandle a project of this scale, what if he abuses his power and damages the company’s interests again in the future?"
The shareholders present all nodded with stern faces, seriously pondering the matter.
This Tian Kun project had really disappointed them in Third Young Master Jun. They had thought him competent and decisive, but now they were profoundly disillusioned.
"Therefore, I propose that he be expelled from the Jun Group and barred from holding any positions!"
His words caused a stir and whispers among many people present. Although everyone was disappointed with Third Young Master Jun over this matter, they weren’t harsh enough to want to kick him out of the group completely; after all, he was still a member of the Jun Family, and they had to save face for the family.
It was unexpected that Jun Shi would actively suggest such a punishment.
"Don’t blame me for being blunt, I’m only considering what’s best for the group. ’The law applies to all, prince or commoner alike’. Precisely because he is my son, I cannot allow him to commit such disgraceful acts. Father, we are members of the Jun Family; we should set an example and be accountable to the shareholders. Otherwise, how can the shareholders trust us in the future?" Jun Shi spoke fervently, his mouth full of reason.
Feiyu was beside himself with rage, furious at the harm done to Third Young Master, while that man spouted righteousness and morality; it was simply nauseating.
Just as he was about to stand up, Ye Lu pressed down on his shoulder, and he glared at her.
Ye Lu’s face grew stern as she whispered urgently, "What do you think you’re doing? If you start a conflict with him here, we’ll be the ones at fault. Keep your cool."
"If we cool down any further, Third Young Master will be expelled today."
"Then let me handle it. With me here, it won’t be so easy to expel him," Ye Lu bit her lip, determined to protect Third Young Master Jun’s position at least for today. Otherwise, once everything was settled, it would be too late for him to return.
Jun Guanru’s expression was grave: "Regarding this matter, he indeed bears an undeniable responsibility..."
"Wait a moment." Ye Lu stood up and spoke coldly, "My thesis plagiarism is my own fault, which doesn’t mean that it proves Third Young Master Jun and FSD had any clandestine dealings or that there was foul play during the bidding process."
Jun Shi sneered, "What a poor excuse. You’re his woman, and your thesis had problems, yet he still chose FSD Company. If that’s not backroom manipulation, what is?"
Ye Lu glared back at him, "Do you have direct evidence that he knew about the issues with my thesis? Not to mention him, even FSD Company wouldn’t have known there was a problem with my thesis if not for this incident. So unless you produce evidence, you have no right to deal with him now."
"You’re quibbling," snapped Jun Shi, glaring at her. "This woman’s got some nerve, trying to buy time even in this situation."
The shareholders present felt somewhat awkward and were hesitant to speak up directly.
"Call it quibbling if you like, but any accountability must be based on solid evidence. Since you’re so sure he’s involved, go find that evidence. When it’s proven, you can expel him however you want, and a few days won’t make a difference, right? Or are you so impatient because you have something to hide?"
Ye Lu’s gaze was piercing as she looked at him, her sneer unrelenting.
