My Scheming Little Devil-Chapter 839: Accusation of Plagiarism
"Since you’re now able to get out of bed, you should immediately fly to Europe so I can give you a full check-up. It’s been so long since your accident, the bacteria in your body could very well have mutated."
...
When she returned from her evening classes, Third Young Master Jun was unusually not clinging to her.
She had just fallen asleep when she heard the propeller sound of a helicopter from the garden outside, roaring loudly. She was puzzled, wondering why there would be the sound of an aircraft.
Then she felt a cold hand on her cheek.
Startled, she opened her eyes and saw Third Young Master Jun sitting by the bed in the dim light, looking down at her.
"What are you doing?"
"Nothing. I need to dash off to Europe tonight to say goodbye. I didn’t mean to wake you," Third Young Master Jun’s voice was low and husky, carrying a dreamlike quality in the dark of the night.
He was here to see her and the child before leaving. Although he was strong and fearless, hearing the professor mention the possibility of his condition worsening suddenly made him feel unsettled.
It wasn’t fear of death nor the dread of illness tormenting him, but...
His gaze lingered lovingly on Ye Lu, his fingers caressing her face... He didn’t want to die, he couldn’t die. If something happened to him, who would protect her and their child?
Having been through various dangers and brushes with death, he had always laughed them off, never taking them seriously. But this time, his heart was so determined; he had to make it through.
So, he had come here to see her, to see the child, feeling that his heart would gain even greater strength!
"Oh, I understand." She was used to him jetting off to foreign countries mysteriously, Ye Lu took it for granted.
Third Young Master Jun’s eyes darkened. Did she not care about what he was doing? Not even a question asked; this infuriating woman.
"Then I’m leaving."
"Oh." Ye Lu pulled up the quilt.
"I’m really leaving," Third Young Master Jun ground his teeth, childishly glaring at her. He felt that the least she could do was say goodbye, considering they wouldn’t see each other for several days.
"I know," Ye Lu replied irritably, lifting her head. He had said "I’m leaving" twice already but still hadn’t moved from the bed. Seeing his frustrated and unhappy face softened her heart a little, "Be careful, and come back soon."
Third Young Master Jun’s eyes immediately brightened.
He bent down and planted a firm kiss on her forehead, then lifted the quilt.
"What are you doing?" Ye Lu glared at him in panic.
"I won’t see my treasure for a few days, of course, I have to say goodbye," Third Young Master Jun lifted her nightgown without hesitation and kissed her belly tenderly, teasingly on both sides, "Baby, Daddy’s off on a business trip, don’t miss me too much. I’ll be back soon with gifts for you all!"
Then, he departed with a refreshed and energized air, as if he was charged up with electricity.
Ye Lu rolled her eyes, wondering what he was up to.
But he did seem genuinely concerned about the child, his eyes full of tenderness.
She touched her belly and felt a complex mix of emotions.
...
The day after Third Young Master Jun left, a sudden storm hit.
The next morning, while Ye Lu was still groggily asleep, she was awoken by a commotion outside. She quickly put on some clothes and went to the French windows to see that the villa outside was surrounded by reporters, which made her frown.
She left the room.
"Feiyu, what happened? Why are there so many reporters?" Her voice was calm.
Feiyu’s face was grave. He hesitated for a moment before finally speaking, "Things don’t look good. These reporters are here for an interview with you because ZA Company has filed a lawsuit claiming your thesis involves plagiarism. And now that FSD Company has won, they are accusing Tian Kun and FSD Company of rigging the bidding process behind closed doors!"
