Chapter 812: Chapter 812: It Wasn’t Intentional

"You tired, huh? You’re practically falling apart." Third Young Master Jun said with a pitiful expression.

Ye Lu glared at him annoyed by his shifty behavior, but she noticed his complexion indeed paled, and there was a faint cold sweat on his forehead, so she said no more.

Soon, the Old Madam Jun and the others arrived. The moment they stepped through the door, Third Young Master Jun immediately sat straight up, lounging against the sofa with his legs crossed, as if he hadn’t a care in the world.

On his handsome face was a lazy and unrestrained expression, nowhere near that of a sick person.

Ye Lu was slightly taken aback, facing a family where even the relatives had to engage in such underhanded scheming—didn’t they find it exhausting?

"Jun Huang, are you okay? I heard you were injured," the Old Madam said with concern as soon as she arrived, looking worriedly at Third Young Master Jun.

Jun Shi and Gu Yan, on the other hand, had intense gazes, watching Third Young Master Jun unblinkingly, sizing him up.

Not letting slip any signs of discrepancy, they saw no indication that Third Young Master Jun was seriously injured. Jun Shi couldn’t help but frown secretly—could they have been wrong?

"Your grandmother comes to see you, and you just sit there. That’s hardly polite. Where are your manners?" Jun Shi immediately reprimanded.

"That’s enough," the Old Madam interceded at once.

Third Young Master Jun shrugged, "Grandma, I’m fine. I was just skiing in South America and twisted my ankle a bit, so it’s inconvenient to stand up."

Only then did the Old Madam relax, a twisted ankle was but a minor injury after all.

Jun Shi’s brow furrowed tighter, looking at him with disdain: "All you know is to gallivant abroad, indulging in pleasure and debauchery. Aside from playing, can you have a sense of responsibility? You still have the Tian Kun project to handle, yet now you haven’t been to work for several days. How do you expect the directors to take you seriously?"

Third Young Master Jun’s face immediately turned unsightly as he looked stonily at Jun Shi.

"Even if I haven’t been to the office, that doesn’t mean I’ve abandoned the company’s affairs. I’ve attended to every task from home without neglect," he replied.

"I’m not trying to single you out," Jun Shi walked over to him, his eyes flashing with insidious intent as he patted Third Young Master Jun’s shoulder with feigned earnestness.

"As my son, I have to hold you to stricter standards," he said, continuing to pat Third Young Master Jun’s shoulder. What seemed like an affectionate gesture was actually done with considerable force; he half-squinted his eyes, carefully observing Third Young Master Jun’s expression.

Third Young Master Jun stared back coldly, his complexion turning a bit pale, yet he bore no hint of pain, maintaining an air of nonchalance as if nothing was the matter, leaving even Jun Shi uncertain.

Meanwhile, Ye Lu cast her eyes down and noticed Third Young Master Jun’s hand, at his waist, clench spasmodically. She felt a shock run through her—could it be that Jun Shi had hit Third Young Master Jun’s injury?

Her eyes grew cold, and without hesitation, she picked up the teacup from the table and walked over to Jun Shi.

"Dad, have some tea—ah..." With a startled cry, she pretended to twist her ankle, flinging her arm and knocking his hand away, and the entirety of the teacup’s contents splashed onto his face.

Instantly, Jun Shi staggered backward several steps, his face drenched with tea, and as the liquid slid down, leaves clung to his face—utterly disheveled.

"You brat, what are you doing?" His face was livid with rage, reaching boiling point. No one had ever dared to show such disrespect to him, dousing him with a face full of tea leaves. He lifted his hand in anger to strike.

Ye Lu trembled, her face a mask of innocence and pitifulness, as she looked at the Old Madam.

"I didn’t mean to do it. I’m pregnant, and sometimes my legs just give way. I’m sorry, I’m so sorry!" she said.

"What are you doing?" the Old Madam snapped, grabbing his hand in annoyance, "She didn’t do it on purpose. Thankfully, she didn’t fall; otherwise, if something happened to my great-grandchild, what would we do?"
