Chapter 206: Chapter 136: Taking a Beating! Becoming an Armored Bone Warrior

"Well..." Xue Fei looked troubled. "Judge Jiang has already issued the order, but if you insist..."

"Jiang Shu Mo?" Wei Yufan’s expression hardened. He shook his head. "Since the Chief Judge himself gave the order, we should just follow procedure."

Xue Fei’s expression stiffened. After a moment of silence, he forced a laugh. "Right."

’Coward!’

Both of them cursed inwardly. Wei Yufan changed the subject. "The Jade Concealment Elixir I asked for..."

"Oh, right..." Xue Fei opened the terminal on his desk to check. A moment later, he shook his head. "Tough luck. The stock for the last two months has already been claimed. You’ll probably have to wait..."

"The Resource Library’s next fixed quota is allocated to the Security Department. If you don’t want to wait, your only option is to buy it yourself."

Wei Yufan frowned in disappointment. "I see."

...

’Is that old fox investigating me because of what happened last time?’ Su Chen wondered as he left Jiang Shu Mo’s office.

’Is he only investigating me, or all the Core Seeds?’

’Cliff Mountain City...’ He thought hard, but his body’s previous owner truly had no memories of it. ’This place can’t be simple. Otherwise, Jiang Shu Mo wouldn’t have gone out of his way to test me.’

’Looks like I’ll have to keep a low profile for a while.’ Su Chen wasn’t too worried, though.

He had nothing to hide, so he had nothing to fear. As long as no one saw him transform into Priest Black Tuo and kill him on the spot, he would be fine.

It was only around eight or nine in the evening when he got back to his place. Su Chen went straight into the Gravity Training Chamber and began his workout.

To meet the requirements for the [Reverser] profession, Su Chen trained to the point of utter exhaustion. He didn’t leave the Gravity Chamber until the next morning, having already consumed three doses of various potions.

HUFF... HUFF... HUFF...

Su Chen lay flat on his back in the Gravity Chamber, gasping for air. He didn’t even want to lift a finger. He was dizzy, his vision blurry—he had pushed himself to his absolute limit.

He glanced at his panel. The second requirement for [Reverser]—to completely exhaust his Physical Strength and Spiritual Power—had progressed by 1%.

’So this is what it takes to be considered completely exhausted...’ Su Chen didn’t want to move an inch, but he wasn’t finished yet.

A short while later, there was a faint knock on the door, followed by the sound of it opening. A low murmur of voices came and went, then silence returned.

After waiting a bit longer, the knocking came again. Soon, the door to the Gravity Chamber swung open. Bu Siqi, standing in the doorway, jumped in surprise when he saw Su Chen lying on the floor.

"Junior Brother... are you okay?"

The color drained from his face as he rushed over.

He breathed a sigh of relief when he realized Su Chen was just exhausted. He was speechless. "Are you insane? Why would you train yourself to this point?"

"Attack me," Su Chen said, his voice barely a whisper.

"Huh?" Bu Siqi was taken aback. Once he understood, he didn’t think Su Chen was crazy anymore. Instead, he grew thoughtful. "Is this for some kind of profession requirement? No wonder there were medical staff outside."

"How much power should I use?" he asked.

"A normal Tier Three attack will do... Just don’t make it too strong," Su Chen said with his eyes closed.

"Alright..." Bu Siqi grinned. "Brace yourself, Junior Brother."

Bu Siqi raised his hand. Viscous, blood-red particles of light materialized from the void, gradually coalescing into the vague outline of a fist. Once it reached a certain density, the entire blood fist abruptly contracted and hardened, then plummeted downwards with a shriek that tore through the air.

BANG!

Su Chen’s body shuddered with a muffled thud. The impact bounced his entire body off the floor before it slammed down again.

"Tsk. Junior Brother, your physical fortitude is incredible," Bu Siqi said, surprised, as he looked at the slight indentation on Su Chen’s chest. "You didn’t use any active defense, and that’s all the damage I did."

"*Cough, cough...*" Su Chen gave a dry cough, speechless. "Continue..."

This was the method Su Chen had devised: first, he would train himself to his absolute limit to complete the requirement for [Reverser], then he would have someone attack him to complete the requirement for [Armored Bone Warrior].

Since he wasn’t allowed to defend himself anyway, his state of utter exhaustion was perfect for this.

Now, he needed to determine the precise severity of injury that would allow his wounds to heal at roughly the same rate as his Physical Strength recovered.

Bu Siqi landed a few more heavy blows on other parts of Su Chen’s body, but he hadn’t had his fill of fun yet.

The medical team came in. They first poured two mouthfuls of a green potion down Su Chen’s throat, then brought out various instruments to assess his injuries.

"With an Advanced Recovery Potion, these injuries should heal in about three hours."

The head of the medical team estimated, "As for recovering from a state of exhaustion back to your peak, about four hours should do it. One Advanced Recovery Potion will be enough."

"I see," Su Chen said thoughtfully. "Senior Brother, hit me a couple more times."

Bu Siqi was happy to oblige and hammered Su Chen hard two more times.

’This way, the recovery times for my injuries and my Physical Strength will be balanced. I can probably take a little over twenty hits a day, which means I can complete the requirement in just over a month,’ Su Chen calculated.

However, his Potion expenses were about to go up another tier.

Advanced Recovery Potions weren’t cheap, costing over 500,000 gold each. Plus, having a medical team on standby was also a hefty expense.

Su Chen rested on the floor while Bu Siqi sighed.

"...Sigh. I don’t know what’s happening over at the Judgment Department. Old Teng won’t say if they’re letting him go or taking further action..."

"Even if they confirm he’s not a problem, the Judgment Department won’t let him go easily. The impact of his little ’test’ was too severe..." Su Chen said, having regained some of his strength.

Even Su Chen didn’t want to see Tier Five Professionals and Director Level individuals feeling they could test him whenever they pleased.

"Yeah..." Bu Siqi understood that as well. "I guess he’ll have to wait until the fallout from this completely blows over."

The two chatted for a while longer and scheduled the next session before Bu Siqi left.
