Chapter 85: Chapter 85: A Man’s Desire to Conquer

Jack Yates left, and Old Mr. Yates was helped back to his room by the nanny.

The only ones left in the living room were Russell Yates and his wife, along with Sean Yates, Wallace Yates, and Hank Yates.

Hank Yates sat next to Chloe Bell, holding her arm affectionately, "Auntie, you always have a way." He then smiled and asked, "But how did you know the third brother would agree?"

Chloe Bell glanced at Russell Yates with a smile and said gently, "Men are driven by a conquest mentality; what they can’t have is the best."

After saying this, Chloe Bell gracefully and calmly walked out.

Russell Yates’ face turned grim, and he remained silent.

Because Chloe Bell’s words seemed to speak about Jack Yates, but they were actually directed at Russell Yates.

Sean Yates and Wallace Yates each had their own awkward reactions; one touched his nose, the other rubbed his eyebrow.

"Auntie." Hank Yates followed her out.

Although Hank was also born to Russell Yates’ first wife and was Sean’s full sibling, she didn’t have much affection for her biological mother.

Because shortly after she was born, Russell Yates was transferred to work in a southern county town. The couple had only been married for a year and were newlyweds, so they left her in the care of the Yates family matriarch.

Two years later, they had Sean Yates. By then, the honeymoon phase was over, and since he was a son, they couldn’t bear to separate from him and personally raised him.

Hank never lived with her biological mother until her parents’ divorce when she was seven, so she wasn’t very close to her mother.

Later, at thirteen, she went abroad to study alone, effectively cutting ties with her mother.

At twenty-seven, Hank returned to the country, worked as the project manager at Chloe Bell’s company, and over time, grew close to her stepmother, Chloe Bell.

Meanwhile, after leaving the Yates family, her biological mother remarried shortly after, having new children and living in a harmonious and fulfilled family setting.

Chloe Bell walked out of the living room slowly, knowing Hank would follow.

"Auntie." Hank caught up to her, affectionately holding her arm again, "Auntie, let me handle this matter."

Chloe Bell gently patted Hank’s hand with a warm smile: "You’re the most suitable. Last time, Rina was rebellious; it’s not appropriate for me to meet that girl again."

Hank: "Don’t worry, Auntie, I know what to do."

Chloe Bell sighed helplessly: "Sigh, actually, neither your dad nor I are stubbornly traditional, especially your dad, who always supports the freedom to love in relationships. We don’t necessarily want him to marry a socialite. If he truly loves that girl, it’s not impossible. But..."

At this point, Chloe Bell paused.

"But that girl is still young, hasn’t even graduated from college, unstable in nature, and may not truly love the third brother. Besides, the third brother, though precocious, is blank in matters of the heart. Before meeting that girl, he never had any interactions with other girls. If the third brother is just momentarily infatuated and ruins his future over it, he would eventually blame us as parents for not reminding him in time."

"Just like a child who refuses to study and only indulges in video games. As parents, should we just spoil him? Certainly not, that would be harming him."

Hank felt there was logic in what she heard but sensed something was off. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚

"Auntie, the third brother always has his own ideas, he should know what he’s doing."

Chloe Bell smiled warmly: "No matter how many ideas he has, he’s still a man, and men in this area are prone to confusion."

Hank: "Okay, I’ll give it a try. To be honest, I also don’t want the third brother to be with a female student. Given the third brother’s qualities and abilities, if he marries a wife who can aid him, he’ll only have smoother sailing ahead. As for that female student, regardless of whether the third brother eventually marries her, even if not, she’ll still become a blemish on the third brother."

Chloe Bell patted Hank’s hand: "The third brother is more sensitive to soft approaches than hard ones. When you meet that girl, be more gentle to avoid making the third brother angry again."
