My Pet Beast is Super Fearsome-Chapter 735 - 102: The Little Fox’s Inner World (Two in One)
Chapter 735: Chapter 102: The Little Fox’s Inner World (Two in One)
"Traitor! A traitor of the Cole family!"
"Chief, kill him, the sins of Cole must be cleansed with fresh blood."
"Kill him!!"
After a brief silence, the warriors suddenly became enraged, their eyes behind masks filled with anger.
Yidan...
No, it should be Kordan’s complexion that looked extremely ugly. He looked around at the warriors who wished they could devour him alive and turned his gaze back to Kadu, his eyes showing a plea, "Chief... Sister Kadu, although I belong to the Cole family, I have never wronged you, or the Fog Whale Clan."
"I was wrong just now, but I’m still young. I can still battle for you, Sister Kadu. Please give me another chance."
Kadu quietly watched Kordan, ultimately her heart softened. She turned around disinterestedly, "Take him to the dungeon, and we will decide later."
"Chief, we can’t let him go!"
"Yes, Chief, the rats of the Cole family are cunning and deceitful..."
Angry voices kept rising; Zifeng didn’t listen any further.
Of course, mainly because he really couldn’t understand what they were arguing about.
Zifeng stroked Katir’s small head and said softly, "I’m going back first, are you coming with me?"
The little girl looked at her sister in the crowd, then at Zifeng, and then held his hand with her cold little hand.
As Zifeng led Katir through the tunnel, all the women and children looked eagerly in their direction.
When they saw that the person was Zifeng, obvious fear flashed in their eyes.
Zifeng felt somewhat helpless; in the heat of the moment, he had burst out with all his might, apparently leaving a deep impression on these ordinary women.
However, he didn’t plan to explain, partly due to the language barrier and also because he was just a passerby, planning to leave once his eyes recovered.
"Zifeng Greg!"
"What is that duck you’re holding, can I touch it!"
"Zifeng Greg’s... fire is so cool, can you fly again!"
"Zifeng Greg, are you hurt?"
Just as Zifeng was about to walk straight through the crowd, a few grubby children broke free from their parents’ arms, excitedly surrounding him and chirping nonstop.
Especially the older boys, who looked at Zifeng with faces full of admiration. In their world, it wasn’t uncommon to see humans with special powers, but fire powers were only spoken of in legendary tales told by the elderly.
Seeing the genuine gazes of those children, a smile of relief suddenly appeared on Zifeng’s face.
He reached out and pinched Iruk’s little face; the cold, slippery, and sticky feeling made him twitch his mouth.
Zifeng casually moved his hand to wipe it on Iruk’s head and then cleared his throat, "Today is a day off, go and play."
The little ones paused briefly then burst into cheers.
"Wowowow!!#¥%@!"
"#¥%@!"
...
After leaving Katir in the square, Zifeng quickly returned to his own room.
He placed the still unconscious little fox on his bed and hurriedly summoned the deer.
As the Space Rift slowly opened, a strange fragrance filled the room; the rotting wooden floor was covered by imaginary flowers and grass, and pale feet walked through the flowers.
Zifeng looked at the deer in girl form, "Deer, please check its wounds."
The deer nodded, its eyes like jade looking towards the weakly breathing little fox.
It bent down, extended its palm lightly onto the little fox, and a burst of soft green light exploded. The wounds on the little fox healed rapidly, leaving only faint traces.
The breathing of the little fox gradually became smoother, and its scrunched face also relaxed.
Watching the little fox’s status bar only showing exhaustion, Shao Zifeng finally felt relieved.
He turned to look at the fawn, but noticed the little one slightly frowning, and the illusory flowers and grass on the floor visibly disintegrated.
Shao Zifeng asked with concern, "Are you alright?"
The fawn gently shook its head, its small antlers on the forehead emitting a faint white glow.
A wave of haziness passed through Shao Zifeng’s vision, and a crisp voice arose from the bottom of his heart.
"I can’t hear the sound of the flowers and grass growing. It feels lonely."
,,Ծ‸Ծ,.
"I don’t like this place."
(..•˘_˘•..)
"Ah, I’ve spoken my heart again. My silly master will be worried, right?"
ᕦ(ò_óˇ)ᕤ
"Actually, being quiet once in a while is nice too~ hehe."
(ฅ´ω`ฅ)
Right after, the fawn abruptly cut off the connection, leaving Shao Zifeng dazed for a moment. He glared at it with a dark face, "You’re the silly one!"
The fawn glanced at him expressionlessly, as though suggesting he was being childish.
Shao Zifeng choked with anger, "Pretending to be serious. If you really don’t like it here, then go back first."
The fawn nodded and then returned to the pet space.
The illusory flowers and grass instantly disappeared. The room darkened once more. Shao Zifeng leaned on the head of the bed, quietly watching the sleeping little fox.
The little fox was only about thirty centimeters long, its closed eyes slightly upturned as if lined with eyeliner. In the dim light, its fur shimmered with a crystalline luster and its fluffy tail looked very soft.
In any case, from every aspect, this little fellow grew according to his aesthetic, the kind he grew more fond of as he looked more.
Eventually, Shao Zifeng could no longer restrain his desire and reached out to grab the little fox’s tail.
Hiss~
So soft!
Suddenly, Shao Zifeng felt the little fox’s body move, and he quickly let go, pretending as if nothing had happened.
"Woo~"
The little fox let out a pained whimper, then its body convulsed violently, its legs kicking the blankets on the bed as if running.
Shao Zifeng was startled by its reaction and quickly held it in his embrace, "Little fox, wake up."
"Woo woo!"
The little fox struggled more vigorously, its cries becoming more piercing.
"No choice." Seeing this, Shao Zifeng placed his hand on its small head and then closed his eyes.
...
Shao Zifeng opened his eyes. Within the illusory perception, the outline of the little fox slowly emerged as it desperately ran.
"Little fox!"
Shao Zifeng reached out to grab it. Just as his hand was about to touch it, the spirit form of the little fox shattered like a phantom.
This tightened Shao Zifeng’s heart, as it was his first time witnessing a spirit form shatter.
The next moment, flowing lines reformed into the little fox’s shape as it continued to run in the same direction, looking back nervously as it ran.
As Shao Zifeng approached, the running spirit form dissolved again, reappearing shortly after still running ahead of him.
This cycle of running and chasing continued. Shao Zifeng gradually felt something was wrong because the urgency shown by the little fox each time it appeared seemed to be decreasing.
It seems...
It wasn’t fleeing for its life, but leading the enemy away.
Shao Zifeng’s mind lit up with understanding as he recalled the little fox’s actions when they first met; he still turned around and walked in the opposite direction of the little fox.
He didn’t know how long he had walked when a mist gradually appeared within his fantastical sense of vision.
The swirling mist had no sooner formed than an image of the little fox appeared out of thin air in the void, its teeth bared and claws flailing as it lunged at him.
Boom!
The phantom of the little fox shattered.
This place, after all, was Shao Zifeng’s sensory realm; such attacks were ineffectual against him.
Looking at the mist in front of him, Shao Zifeng extended a hand.
Before he could make contact, the little fox condensed again, only this time there was a marked change in both its aura and contour, its body surrounded by a dark mist, and its blood-red eyes captivating.
"Roar!!"
All of its fur stood on end like that of a hedgehog, and it swiped its sharp claws toward Shao Zifeng, leaving several distorted claw marks in the void.
Shao Zifeng shuddered internally and instinctively raised his hand to block.
Bang!
The frenzied state of the little fox shattered once again.
Shao Zifeng’s expression fluctuated as he looked down at his right arm, outlined by lines, which now bore several clear scratch marks.
His own spirit body had been injured!
Fortunately, his sensory world had been enhanced by the Empress, and in the blink of an eye, the scratch marks vanished without trace.
Looking at the mist before him, Shao Zifeng was somewhat puzzled; neither in terms of strength nor talent was the Extreme Ice Fox particularly outstanding, yet what exactly had caused it to transform into this state.
To unravel it all, Shao Zifeng took another step forward.
His foot fell onto the void, causing ripples to spread out, and suddenly his entire sensory world trembled.
"Roar!"
Shao Zifeng instinctively raised his head, only to see behind the mist in his sensory world, thunder and lightning surged, with purple-red lightning continually meandering through the void, and dark mist rising, sketching a massive fox silhouette.
Its body hidden in the dark mist, its crimson eyes fixated intently on Shao Zifeng.
"Get away..."
"Human... guard... close... kill!!"
The grand voice resounded like rolling thunder, briefly blurring Shao Zifeng’s spirit.
Looking at the massive fox silhouette, Shao Zifeng shouted, "Little fox, it’s me!"
"Get away... kill... guard!!"
"Human... close..."
The little fox seemed not to hear his voice, continuously repeating the indistinct words.
Seeing that communication was futile, Shao Zifeng’s gaze fell on the mist before him; it seemed that to understand the thoughts deep within it, he had to make an attempt.
Thinking this, he slightly bent his body and lunged toward the mist.
"Roar!"
The massive fox, as if provoked, raised its huge claw and swiped at him, causing the sensory world to tremble incessantly.
Just as its huge claw was about to hit, a crystalline tear formed in the void, hanging directly above Shao Zifeng.
The outline of the massive claw met the tear drop, and like snow melting in the fire, the massive fox roared as it dissolved into nothing, leaving only the sparkling tear slowly spinning, eventually reintegrating into the sensory world. (Note: Sensory world enhanced, refer to the first few Chapters when Emperor Wah first appeared.)
Meanwhile, Shao Zifeng successfully entered the mist, where he encountered a scene much like the depths of Yaya’s inner heart.
The little fox curled up in the center, surrounded by countless swirling images.
Shao Zifeng extended his hand in a gesture, and an image from in front of him hovered before him.
In the snow-covered mountain valleys, two adult white foxes ran along the steep cliffs with three little ones, stopping from time to time, gazing back at the three clumsy youngsters with affectionate eyes.
"Parents, happy."
The image seemed to carry the little fox’s joy, and a tender voice arose by his ear.
Shao Zifeng waved his hand, changing the image.
The three little ones were growing up robustly under the watch of two adult white foxes, following their parents to practice hunting and gathering under the star-filled sky at night.
Shao Zifeng continued browsed through images, the stages of the little ones’ growth displayed one by one before him.
Suddenly, Shao Zifeng’s hand trembled, the image before his eyes radiating with intense sadness.
The peaceful silence of the snow mountains was shattered by noisy footsteps, countless birds and mutant creatures were running wildly in the mountains, as the naive little fox followed behind its anxious parents. Curiously looking back, it saw limitless humans wantonly slaughtering the mutant creatures.
As it looked back, a man in the crowd also noticed him, then lifted his bow and arrow. The little fox seemed frozen, stunned in place.
Thump!
The twang of the bowstring snapped him out of it; his eyes widened as the arrow shot towards him seemed to fill the world.
In that moment, a familiar figure shielded him; the crystalline blood filled his entire field of vision.
Thud!
The adult fox rolled and smashed into the ground, turning its head to look at the little fox with a face full of love.
"Grrr."
The sorrowful cry of the fox rang by the little fox’s ear as the other adult fox carried the three little ones in its mouth, not looking back as it rushed toward the end of the mountains.
The little fox’s vision shook continually; it saw its father being picked up by a spear, the harsh laughter around piercing its heart.
At that moment, the mother suddenly set them down on the ground, gazing at her three children reluctantly, gently licking their fur with her tongue.
Then she charged towards the crowd without hesitation.
From that day forward, only the three of them relied on each other for survival.
Looking at the two little trembling ones before him, the little fox’s gaze gradually became resolute.
"Humans are detestable... protect them."
Shao Zifeng silently observed each scene, probably understanding the expressions of the little fox in the sensory world, whether leading him away or the final madness, all were subconscious efforts to protect the beauty in its heart.
Next, Shao Zifeng saw his own figure in the images.
He saw the night they spent in the cave, saw the little fox secretly bringing him things; this memory seemed to slightly change its hostility towards humans.
"He is... a good person."
Hearing the little fox’s inner assessment of him, Shao Zifeng’s lips slightly curled into a smile.
Swiping past the image about himself, Shao Zifeng clicked open the next one.
The little fox’s gaze frequently drifted into the distance, seemingly longing for Shao Zifeng, finally getting the other two little foxes settled before preparing to sneak out and bring him something again.
In another small human settlement, the little fox skillfully weaved through the buildings, seemingly not its first visit.
Upon opening a door, the little fox’s eyes suddenly widened.
Inside, a man lay on the ground while another with shriveled skin was frantically gnawing at his body.
Shao Zifeng’s pupils contracted, watching the grotesque monster.
It was strikingly identical to those that had appeared on Earth.
