Chapter 44 -41: Scarlet Web (Please Keep Reading, Monthly Tickets)

“Damn, we’ve been spotted!”

Seeing the approaching Terrifying Hyena Swarm, Benjamin Chenlake’s face changed, and he quickly exclaimed:

“Although these guys only possess High-Ranking Servant power, their bodies have already decayed, changing their fatal weaknesses.

They can survive briefly even if their skulls are shattered — shattering their hearts is the only way to kill them.”

“Roger that!”

“No problem!”

Benjamin Howard and Diana Moon swiftly retorted, as complex summoning formations materialized around them, calling forth their Pet Beasts.

Benjamin Howard’s Pet Beast was a Peak Servant Level Burst Fire Bull, standing two meters tall, with a robust figure.

It had a coat of red hair, and sparks flew out during each breath.

It had a racial skill, Flame Armor, which could conjure a flaming armor.

Diana Moon’s Pet Beast was a Healing Jellyfish, a blue creature wrapped in a water stream.

Its racial skill, Hydro Healing, was capable of releasing healing water streams to treat teammates’ wounds.

As for Benjamin Chenlake, he had a half-meter-long Phantom Leaf Tailed Gecko, which had a silver-gray body that could hide its figure in the shadows.

Its racial skill was Shadow Stepper; all entities who had their shadows stepped on by it would briefly freeze.

At this moment, numerous Mad Blood Hyenas had already raced over, opening their vast mouths.

Their tentacles were wriggling in excitement, preparing for a feast.

Chenlake adjusted his glasses and yelled:

“Benjamin Howard!

Step up!”

“Easy peasy!”

Benjamin Howard smirked, as the Burst Fire Bull initiated a charge, smashing into the Hyena group like a small truck.

Crack!

Accompanied by the sound of splintering bones, an oncoming Mad Blood Hyena was sent flying.

Almost all of its ribs were broken, and it let out a painful howl while lying on the ground.

However, the Burst Fire Bull didn’t stop; it lifted its front hoof towards a close Hyena and suddenly smashed downwards like a massive executioner’s stone.

Boom!

Amidst the trembling earth and jumping stones, when the Burst Fire Bull’s hoof hit the ground, it left a spiderweb-like crack on the ground which slightly depresses.

The Hyena inside was smashed beyond recognition, and its heart was crushed, leaking a hefty amount of sticky fluid, causing its death.

Seeing this, Benjamin Howard scoffed:

“Haha!

This is too easy!”

“Woo…”

Seeing the fate of their companions, the remaining Hyenas hesitated, letting out an uncertain low growl, obviously somewhat fearful.

Thump!

Thump!

Thump!

But the next moment, their heartbeats abruptly quickened as copious amounts of Mad Blood circulated through their bodies.

The eyes of all Mad Blood Hyenas turned red as they fell into a frenzy, fearlessly pouncing on the Burst Fire Bull.

The tentacles on their bodies began to ferociously whip the Burst Fire Bull, leaving trail after trail of bloody marks with blood seeping out.

Just like real Hyenas, they didn’t adhere to any rules and chose to surround it.

Also, they didn’t mindlessly charge forward; some attacked from the front, some were in charge of distracting from the sides, and others attacked vulnerable parts like the anus.

The rest lurked and planned their actions like strategic hunters, hunting a colossal prey.

Any regular large beast facing an attack from multiple directions would eventually succumb and perish in the end.

However, the three were well-prepared for this and had discussed their strategies beforehand.

Benjamin Howard roared:

“Burst Fire Bull, activate Flame Armor!”

“Moo!”

The Burst Fire Bull roared towards the sky, uttering a deep growl.

Sparks spread across its hair and quickly condensed, forming a burning flame armor.

The scorching high temperature even distorted the surrounding space.

Two Mad Blood Hyenas that had pounced were unable to react.

They were ignited by the flames which quickly spread across their bodies, causing them to roll on the ground in pain.

Meanwhile, the Burst Fire Bull capitalized and stomped on their hearts.

Seeing this scene, the remaining Hyenas attempted to escape, but a silver-gray figure appeared behind them, stepping on their shadows.

“Hiss, hiss!”

The Phantom Leaf Tailed Gecko had, unknowingly, crept behind them, perfectly stepping on the shadows of four Mad Blood Hyenas, causing them to freeze in place.

“Roar!”

The Burst Fire Bull seized this opportunity and harvested.

In the process, the Mad Blood Hyenas fought back desperately; their blood-colored tentacles burst out like arrows, enduring the searing pain to exchange blows with the Burst Fire Bull.

However, the wound was swiftly healed by the water stream of the Healing Jellyfish.

Although not fully recovered, it only amounted to a slight injury.

Through this rotation of tank, control, and healer, the three rapidly slaughtered eleven Mad Blood Hyenas.

Seeing the grand scheme, the rest turned tail and fled.

“Hahaha, what a bunch of cowards.

Today, I’m going to exchange your hyena teeth for my villa!”

Benjamin Howard was high from the killings; watching the fleeing Hyenas, he immediately mounted the Burst Fire Bull toward them, with an air of dominance.

Even Diana Moon was flush with excitement, laughing as she said, “A one-and-a-half-star mission is nothing much!”

“Haha, it just proves our good teamwork!” Taken over by the elation of victory, Benjamin Chenlake became one with the wind.

After quickly collecting the Hyena teeth, he rushed to catch up with the fleeing Benjamin Howard.

Soon, the trio arrived at an abandoned garbage dump after navigating through narrow lanes.

Under massive rust, heaps of trash piled up like small iron mines.

“Roar!”

Two mad blood hounds stared at them from the base of a small garbage mound.

Their tentacles twitched as they growled menacingly, as if attempting to scare them away.

“Little puppies, stop struggling, you’re already surrounded by us…how is this possible!?”

However, before Benjamin Howard could even make progress, his arrogant smile abruptly froze.

Because…from behind the garbage mounds, more and more mad blood hyenas emerged like dominos falling, one after another.

There were about seventy or eighty of them, frothing at the mouth as they stared at them.

“How can there be so many mad blood hyenas!?”

Benjamin Chenlake’s face turned pale, he had not anticipated that these two mad blood hyenas would be intelligent enough to lure them into a monster’s lair.

Although Benjamin Howard was terrified, he put on a brave face and said, “It’s okay, it’s just a few more hyenas.

As long as we work together, we should be able to safely retreat…”

Rumble rumble!

Before he could finish speaking, the small iron mountain in the center started trembling suddenly.

Countless rust-covered pieces of garbage rolled onto the ground, raising a cloud of reddish-brown dust.

In this cloud of dust, an enormous figure slowly emerged.

It looked similar to the mad blood hyenas, but was three meters tall, and had giant tusks.

Its massive heart, which resembled a tumor, extended numerous blood-colored roots that covered its body.

It looked as if it was donning red battle armor.

Its pair of bright red eyes looked down at the three people on the ground, spreading an aura of brutality, seemingly wishing to paint the world in red.

“This is…a bloodthirsty hyena, the evolved form of a mad blood hyena after overcoming its madness.

It’s a high-level elite.

Damn it!

We’ve been tricked into a monster’s lair!”

Benjamin Chenlake’s teeth chattered, his fear quickly turning into despair.

He quickly made a decision, screaming at the other two who had promptly been scared silly:

“You guys run!”

Once he finished speaking, the Phantom Leaf Tailed Gecko appeared and stepped onto the shadow of the bloodthirsty hyena, attempting to immobilize it and buy them some time to escape.

However, the bloodthirsty hyena simply sneered when it saw this.

It swung one of its blood-colored tentacles like a whip, directly whipping the Phantom Leaf Tailed Gecko into the sky.

The gecko crash-landed into the garbage mound, sending rust-covered dust flying into the air.

“Phantom Gecko!”

The rage in Benjamin Chenlake’s eyes was about to burst.

Although he had considered the significant power disparity, he hadn’t thought it would be this bad.

He couldn’t even disturb the bloodthirsty hyena for one single second.

Benjamin Howard regained his spirits, his body uncontrollably shaking as he roared:

“You damn dog, I’ll fight it out with you, Burst Fire Bull, use Fire Armor and then Charge!”

“Moo!”

The Burst Fire Bull ignited its fire armor and launched a charge, smashing into the bloodthirsty hyena like a flaming chariot.

However, the bloodthirsty hyena simply stretched out a claw to halt the Burst Fire Bull’s attack, effortlessly pressing its head into the ground.

Bang!

With the sound of rocks scattering, the flames were abruptly put out.

The Burst Fire Bull collapsed on the ground, unconscious.

The entire process was as easy as swatting a fly.

This scene drove the three of them into complete despair.

The remaining Healing Jellyfish was not well-suited for combat, and the path behind was blocked by hyenas; there was no way to retreat.

“It’s all my fault!”

Benjamin Chenlake was full of guilt.

If he hadn’t underestimated the situation, they wouldn’t have fallen into the monster’s lair.

“Damn it…” Benjamin Howard roared at the hyena swarm, his face contorted with anger.

However, when you’re weak, even threats are just seen as cute gestures in the eyes of the strong!

“Awooo!”

The Bloodthirsty Hyena waved its paw, and the two mad blood hyenas, along with several other hounds, wailed and charged.

They leapt into the air, ready to pounce and feast on the humans.

“Are we going to die…”

Diana Moon slumped in despair, trembling as she looked at the gnashing, foul-smelling mouths of the hyenas advancing towards her.

Just as she was waiting for the final moment of death in despair, suddenly, the mad blood hyenas hurtling towards her froze mid-air, their vicious faces twisted in fear.

Crack, crack, crack!

The next moment, accompanied by a bizarre sound of flesh ripping, they exploded into countless uniformly cut chunks of flesh that scattered on the ground.

Some of the blood even splashed onto their faces, reflecting their stunned expressions.

“What is this…”

Diana Moon, finally coming back to her senses, looked in front of her where many beads of blood were still floating.

It surprised her at first, but as she looked more closely, her pupils suddenly contracted.

No, that’s not right,

They’re not floating in the air!

In front of them, numerous almost transparent threads were weaved together.

If it weren’t for the numerous drops of blood adhered to them, it would be almost impossible to see with the naked eye.

And these bloody threads were woven into…a hunting
