My Perfect Female CEO-Chapter 1096: The Death of Gu Qiong
Gu Qiong’s residence was quickly surrounded by Hall and his group.
With a sharp gaze, Gu Qiong looked towards the door.
"Bang!" The door was forced open, and Hall’s group streamed in.
Gu Qiong wasn’t alone but with a partner. As an assassin roaming the Underworld for many years, he naturally had a partner. This residence was Gu Qiong and his partner’s secret base.
"Gu Qiong, Bower." Hall looked at Gu Qiong and his partner with a cold smile and said, "The organization has ordered the hunt for Gu Qiong. Bower, if you want to live, you’d better scram, and I’ll spare your life."
Bower’s expression changed; the sudden turn of events and Sky Net’s stance on Gu Qiong left him baffled.
"Hall, you’ve just become the head of the Hunter Team Nine; it’s better to follow the rules. We have had a certain rapport with Sky Net," Bower said solemnly. "I want to know which Elder holds a grudge against Gu Qiong."
"Considering your pitiful state, I can tell you," Hall said patiently, "The other Elders proposed, and the Great Elder personally agreed."
"The decision of the Elder Council?!" Bower exclaimed, both surprised and shocked, and he bitterly said, "I predicted this day would come—if we don’t become Sky Net’s lackeys, eventually we’d become targets. I just didn’t expect this day to come so soon."
Bower could say this because he knew Gu Qiong would eventually be targeted by Sky Net. What he didn’t know was that Gu Qiong’s contact with Ye Fan prompted Sky Net to list him as a target sooner.
"Have you thought it through? We have no time to waste here with you. Quickly leave, and at least you can save your life," Hall impatiently stared at Bower.
Bower’s anger surged, furious and tumultuous.
"Bower, don’t get involved in this flood. Take care and leave," Gu Qiong advised, looking at Bower.
Bower, being a non-combat personnel responsible for providing intelligence, was not much of a fighter, aside from being adept with firearms.
He knew if Bower stayed, he would surely die, and he didn’t want Bower to die like this.
Seeing Hall and his men aggressively invading, Gu Qiong knew his situation was dire and didn’t want to witness his long-time partner’s unjust death.
"Take a word of advice, lest you lose your life here. Being able to cling to life is a blessing," Hall degraded without sparing words, showing no kindness to either Bower or Gu Qiong.
"Fine, I’ll go!" Bower took a few deep breaths before making a determined decision to leave.
"Take care, old partner!" Bower gave Gu Qiong a meaningful glance before taking his leave.
"Now that’s sensible. Staying alive is more important than anything." Hall sneered.
As Bower passed by Hall, he pulled a dagger from his waist, using all his strength to stab towards Hall’s chest.
No one understood better than Bower that Gu Qiong faced with Hall and his men wouldn’t escape; thus, he decided to strike Hall unexpectedly. If he could seriously injure Hall, then Gu Qiong might escape from the others and hide away from Sky Net.
This was the only thing he could do for Gu Qiong. At a critical moment of life and death, he couldn’t abandon Gu Qiong to let the detestable Hall succeed.
At the brink of danger, Hall’s brow twitched with surprise; he truly didn’t expect Bower to suddenly make a deadly move.
A chill entered his body, cooling his blood.
In a fluster, he retreated to avoid Bower’s sudden assault.
After all, being a Forbidden Powerhouse, he lacked neither sensitivity nor speed; as long as he had time to react, he could effectively respond.
However, even so, Hall’s skin was grazed by the knife blade, causing a small gash with blood gushing out.
Nevertheless, this minor injury was negligible to Hall.
Bower’s desperate attack did not achieve the desired effect.
"Seeking death!" Two of Hall’s deputies charged forward during Hall’s retreat, both making a move against Bower.
"Leave him alive!" Hall’s voice chilled to the bone.
Their deadly moves turned to capture, and they directly subdued Bower.
"Bastard, I’ll stab you to death." Hall’s brow furrowed, his killing intent intense. He stepped forward, snatched the dagger from Bower, and plunged it into Bower’s abdomen.
"You lapdog born of a whore, you wag your tail and beg in front of Sky Net, barely looking like a dog. Otherwise, a thing like you, worse than a pig or dog, could only await death in prison, never the chance to breathe fresh air." Bower cursed.
"How dare you curse me."
"Seeking misguided death."
"Keep cursing, go on."
"Dare to strike at me, blind fool."
Hall stabbed Bower one knife after another, venting his dissatisfaction verbally, his face full of savage smiles and murderous intent.
After seven or eight stabs, Bower was dead.
Hall, still furious, stabbed a few more times before stopping, kicking Bower’s body aside.
Gu Qiong trembled all over, his face pale, anger and killing intent intertwined, rushing to his head.
Bower’s actions had been unexpected for him; Bower’s fate left him deeply saddened, his heart aching.
Rescue was impossible; he could only watch his old partner die in front of him.
"Why did you have to do this? Wouldn’t it be better to endure the humiliation and live?" Gu Qiong looked at Bower’s body, overwhelmed with sorrow.
"Gu Qiong, it’s your turn to die." Hall’s killing intent erupted, looking at Gu Qiong; the people around him were brimming with momentum, like enraged lions, overflowing with killing intent.
"Die!" Gu Qiong roared, launching a mad attack towards Hall and his men.
Gu Qiong and Hall were equally matched in strength; if they fought one-on-one, depending on combat skills or desperate moves, they could kill each other, though the survivor would have paid a heavy price. But now, with several strong fighters aiding Hall, Gu Qiong’s desperate move was destined to be the final battle—a life-and-death fight.
Gu Qiong traded his injuries for the price of taking his opponents’ lives.
One after another, the powerhouses by Hall’s side died, while Gu Qiong was also heavily injured.
As the battle progressed, Gu Qiong found it increasingly difficult to hold on.
From the initial unmatched might, now he was in grave danger.
A quarter of an hour later, Gu Qiong was unable to fight, his body bloody and severely injured.
"Gu Qiong, go to hell. After costing us so much, you should be proud," Hall roared.
Finally, Gu Qiong was defeated by Hall’s fists.
