My Misfortune Crushed Instances-Chapter 117: Truly Inhuman
Huo Yun and Kong Hua were shocked internally, but there was no time to say anything. They dodged Pang Manjun’s strike and the three of them had to keep moving forward; the road ahead was still long.
Although Li Rui shattered the Barbarian Monarch’s attack head-on, it didn’t mean he could face such a level of opponent head-to-head. After all, it was just a casual strike from them; if they used their full strength, they’d obliterate him in seconds. Perhaps after advancing to level 30, he might manage to hold out a bit longer.
So right now, he didn’t dare let his guard down and just led the two of them to sprint along the edge again.
Apparently, Pang Manjun hadn’t expected that the three ants could actually survive, so he planned to try yet again, not believing they could withstand another assault.
However, while he was paying attention to the edge, Wei Xun also noticed this. He flashed onto the scene, appearing between the Barbarian Monarch and Li Rui’s group, swinging his blade fiercely, with lights and shadows covering the sky.
Even though he didn’t know what Li Rui intended to do, he still planned to cover him as much as possible.
Others might not know, but Wei Xun was very clear. That kid had once fooled Zuo Qiutian, allowing him to have his way might indeed create a miracle!
"Barbarian Monarch, don’t get distracted."
Swoosh!
A giant shadow of a blade ten feet long sliced down from above, making it impossible for Pang Manjun to focus on anything else.
...
The defense area A1 had Secret Realm agents defending it, making its situation slightly better than other spots, though only marginally.
After the Barbarian Monarch appeared, both the quality and quantity of the beast hordes increased drastically, exerting immense pressure on the front lines.
Currently, Hong Lu and his team of four were also fighting fiercely, with barely any time to rest, retreating only to recharge their spiritual power using Spirit Recovery Potions or similar means.
"Huff, huff, huff."
"What’s your contribution rate?" Hong Lu panted and asked.
"Not even one percent, Brother Hong, this is way too slow." The sycophant said, "Do you have any method to increase the efficiency?"
"No way." 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦
He shook his head, "Right now, the issue is surviving, holding our ground; who cares about the contribution rate."
The straightforward guy bluntly stated, "I wonder how those at the A6 section are doing."
"Maybe they’re all dead." Hong Lu mumbled somewhat guiltily.
At this moment, the most unnoticeable transparent member suddenly shouted.
"Look, everyone!"
Everyone followed the direction of his finger, only to see three human figures madly sprinting from the edge of the battlefield where top-tier fighters were clashing, fighting and killing along the way, seeming to want to pass through the battlefield directly.
"They’re crazy!" the sycophant screamed, "What are they trying to do!"
Hong Lu silently shook his head. As a Secret Realm agent who had seen the strategy guides, he naturally knew there was some kind of Teleportation Array deep within the Barbaric Beast camp, the root cause of this siege battle.
So he kind of guessed the trio’s purpose, but was still in disbelief.
Deep inside, he questioned himself, knowing there was no way he could muster the determination, either in strength or courage, to risk crossing that battlefield.
The psychological defense he built from not seeing each other was instantly shattered, just like the Barbaric Beast’s first line pierced by Li Rui’s trio.
"Definitely crazy." He muttered to himself as he watched the slowly disappearing figures on the opposite side, then picked up his weapon to continue fighting, feeling a bit empty inside.
...
Under Wei Xun’s cover, Li Rui and the others crossed the central battlefield, reaching the rear of the Barbaric Beast attack line, where the pressure immediately eased.
Barbaric Beasts, by nature, contained the bloodline of ancient Divine Beasts and had developed intelligence, so they operated with a division of labor and cooperation within their groups.
They would take their wounded back to the rear for treatment and even had rotating attackers in reserve.
However, under no circumstances did these creatures expect that three audacious humans would dare to come to such a place.
So, when they saw Li Rui’s trio, they were initially stunned, and not until the vajra umbrella began a ruthless onslaught did they finally wake up to the reality that the enemies had indeed arrived!
Amidst a terrifying howl, the Barbaric Beast camp came into action instantly, not to face the enemy, but to flee.
After all, many of the beasts were resting, healing injuries, or nestled comfortably when suddenly someone shouted: The enemy is coming! The first reaction? Obviously, self-preservation!
The Barbaric Beasts lacking offensive capabilities, who only knew how to heal their kin, wouldn’t dare deal with these "ruthless" humans. Some even abandoned their injured companions and ran for it.
However, Li Rui and the others didn’t understand the beast language and only heard roars and saw chaotic figures everywhere, mistakenly thinking the beasts were assembling to attack them.
So the three of them discussed and reached an agreement.
"There’s no time to care about them, find the Teleportation Array first!"
And then they started running too.
Viewed from above, the scene was utterly absurd, with a throng of exhausted, injured Barbaric Beasts in a mad retreat, and three humans withdrawing alongside them, both sides seemingly tense.
This situation continued for roughly as long as it takes to drink a cup of tea before both sides realized something was off.
Why is no one attacking me?
Every beast and human thought this.
Finally, an officer within the beast horde regained their senses and issued a signal, causing the panicked Barbaric Beasts to regain their wits.
"Roar!!!"
With fierce roars coming one after another, Li Rui felt the pressure suddenly intensify.
"Ignore it, focus on finding the Array. I have a plan!"
He commanded, prompting the other two to start running wildly again.
Fortunately, most in the beast camp were weary and injured; as they ran at the forefront, their pursuers couldn’t catch up for the moment.
Li Rui found the scene all too familiar, except without Chongxu on his shoulder.
"Brother Rui, what’s your plan? If we get surrounded, we’ll eventually collapse and die."
Kong Hua glanced back, quickening the frequency of his steps.
He was panicked yet noticed Huo Yun remained calm, as if he believed the issue could be resolved.
Li Rui didn’t respond because he was concentrating on searching for the Teleportation Array’s location. After traversing large stretches of the beast camp, he finally spotted a layer of hazy light behind a felled grove.
"Over there."
Sizzle.
He transformed into a streak of golden light, charging straight toward the array.
The place was quite open, with sturdy stone pillars forming six massive stone gates, arranged in a circle that enclosed the shimmering Shifting Array.
It was evident that the Barbaric Beasts emerged from those six stone gates.
"Let’s quickly destroy the array and run!"
Kong Hua shouted, "I saw it, the array core is in the center."
Li Rui cast him a strange look, "Destroy it? What are you talking about? There’s still so much profit to be squeezed from here."
With that, he pulled four blood mist bombs from his item bar and tossed them under four of the stone gates.
Huo Yun immediately grasped his intention.
The blood mist bombs would engulf the Teleportation Gates. As soon as new beasts emerged, they’d perish instantly, one dead for each coming out, two dead for each pair, stopping reinforcements and farming experience simultaneously.
Such deviousness, truly inhumane!
Huo Yun then took out his own two bombs and threw them at the remaining two gates.
