MY Masochistic CEO-Chapter 94 old feelings
Chapter 94: Chapter 94 old feelings
I ran into a nearby gift shop and bought some tonics. Passing by someone’s doorstep, out of courtesy, it was always polite to pay a visit. It would be embarrassing to go empty-handed.
"Why did you buy so much?" Lucy asked.
"For your mom to nourish her body," I replied.
I smiled, then drove into an alley, turning seven or eight corners to an old building. There was a yard in front of the house, not small. Several large locust trees blocked most of the sun.
It was the dog days of summer, but I felt a hint of coolness; in horror novels, this was the gathering place for all kinds of eerie stories.
Following her up to the third floor, she pushed open the door and shouted, "Mom, I’m back!"
Immediately, a thin young man pushed a wheelchair over. "Sis, you’re back!"
"Come in," she said to me. "This is my brother, Dennis!"
"Sis, who is he?" Dennis asked.
"He’s William Maine, my former classmate."
"Classmate?" Dennis looked at me with unfriendly eyes. "Hey, are you trying to make a move on my sister?"
"Dennis, why are you talking like that?" Lucy glared at him.
"Don’t mind him, he speaks without thinking," Lucy said to me.
I wasn’t angry either, nodded at him, and placed the gifts on the table.
She poured a glass of water for me and said, "You sit first. I’ll go check on my mom."
I nodded, looking around the room.
The room was not large, just over 700 square feet, with three bedrooms, one living room, and one bathroom. The environment was poor; the furniture looked a bit old, and the room exuded a faint smell of decay.
"Hey, do you like my sis?"
Dennis pushed the wheelchair over. "Let me tell you, if you want to pursue my sister, do you know the first condition?"
I was curious. "What is it?"
"Own a car and a house, plus an eight-digit bank balance!"
This requirement was really high.
"The car has to be worth over a million dollars, and the house has to be a four-bedroom, two-living room mansion in the East City."
A four-bedroom, two-living room mansion in the East City cost four to five million, plus a million luxury car and an eight-figure bank account—one needed at least twenty million to pursue his sister!
"Besides that, what other conditions are there?" I asked.
"The car and house must be in my sister’s name, and it must be pre-marital property. In addition, you must prepare a large mansion for me, a million-dollar luxury car, and hire a high-level caregiver for my mom to watch over her twenty-four hours!"
I laughed, "So, I need to spend thirty to forty million to marry your sis?"
Dennis said, "Of course, my sis is so beautiful. The people pursuing her can line up from the east to the north of the city!"
"You seem to be dressed nicely, you should have some wealth. But do you think buying gifts is enough? You lack a bit of insight!"
"Oh? What else do I need to do?" I asked.
He flicked his fingers. "Got it?"
"Oh, so you want a gift for the first meeting!" I pretended to realize. "How much do you want?"
"A grand or two ain’t too small; eighty or a hundred grand ain’t too much. It’s all about how much you’re into my sis!" fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm
I said, "I like her one hundred percent!"
"Don’t just talk; I’ll believe you only when you bring the money."
Just then, Lucy came out. "Dennis, shut up. I’m your sister, not your daughter! My marriage doesn’t need your approval!"
"Sis, I’m doing this for your good; if this guy is a poor guy, it’s better not to waste time." Dennis shamelessly said.
"If I like him, even if he’s a beggar, I’m willing!" Lucy shot back.
She snorted, then gave me a scornful glance, as if to say, "What are you trying to join in on?"
I chuckled.
She said, "Come in; my mom wants to see you."
I nodded and walked over, hearing Dennis muttering behind me. "No manners, didn’t even bring some gift money when meeting lover’s parents for the first time!"
Lucy’s brother was really a weirdo.
Entering the bedroom, a faint scent lingered. I maintained a neutral expression. Lucy’s mother, Brooke, was paralyzed in bed, unable to move for using the bathroom.
On the bed, there was a thin middle-aged woman; from her thin face, you could vaguely see that she was also a beauty in her youth.
Lucy inherited more of her mother’s looks.
I walked to the bedside and greeted, "Hello, Auntie, I’m Lucy’s classmate, William Maine!"
She turned her eyes and said to me, "Welcome to my home as a guest. I have limited mobility, so if there is any lack of hospitality, please forgive me."
"No problem." I smiled.
"I want to thank you for helping my daughter so wholeheartedly. She has never suffered much since she was young; she’s a bit temperamental; please bear with her," Brooke said.
"I understand. Girls all have a bit of a temper. If a big man like me can’t handle this bit of temper, then my heart is too narrow."
Lucy didn’t say a word throughout, sitting there, very quiet, like a well-behaved girl.
Towards the end of the conversation, Brooke said, "William, I can see that you’re a good person. I can rest assured handing Lucy over to you. If she upsets you in any way, come to me."
"Mom... we haven’t reached that stage yet!" Lucy’s face suddenly turned red.
I was a bit puzzled too.
’What does this mean?’
’Handing over the daughter to me? But this is just the first meeting, isn’t this too casual?’
Before I could speak, Dennis rushed in. "No, Mom, I disagree!"
"I absolutely disagree!" Dennis said, "Mom, this is the situation in our family. Relying solely on my sister is very difficult to sustain the expenses. This guy is so stingy, obviously not a wealthy person. With my sister’s good condition, what kind of man can’t she find? Why choose a poor guy?"
