Chapter 275: *I can’t predict if I’m going to die or not*

Lucas had followed him when he had decided to leave, and it was at that moment that he had presented himself to them. When a God disappeared, the Creator would psychically send him a list of candidates to replace him, and it was up to him to make the final choice. This time, he hadn’t hesitated for a second to choose Mykael.

It had taken him months of patience to convince him to become the God of Destruction, and he had to take them both to worlds that were on the verge of destroying themselves, thus destroying the other worlds around them, before Mykael finally accepted his offer.

It was the first time that a human had resisted him so much; usually, they were all eager to become a God, but not him. It was also for that reason that he had persisted, because he was sure that Mykael was the perfect man to become, in some way, the Guardian of worlds.

He was the most upright, loyal, and dedicated man he had ever known, and since he had become the God of Destruction, he hadn’t only reset the worlds and saved the cycle of reincarnation in those worlds, but he had also made sure to safeguard the knowledge that legendary creatures could pass down from generation to generation, which would have been lost after a reset.

He had never regretted his choice, not even when Mykael had tried to oppose him for Kevin’s world, because he was the one who had taught him not to let himself be influenced by other Gods; the consequences if this world exploded despite their interventions would be too disastrous.

His only conditions for accepting to become the new God of Destruction had been that he wanted to be free to choose his own men and that he wanted him to personally train him and his men to ensure they could carry out this mission.

He had accepted, thinking that it would be nice to maintain a good relationship for once with a God and also because he had observed Mykael for a very long time and knew that he had a gift for surrounding himself with people with unusual talents.

As he had expected, after Lucas—who was the only man he knew who could spot the energy signatures of any living being—all the people he had introduced to him had unique talents without exception.

Training them had always been a pleasure and that was why he and Mykael had always been on very good terms, and why his men knew him very well.

The fact that Kevin shared the mark of the Union with Mykael’s son was perhaps not just a coincidence, but the Creator’s will to consolidate their alliance; everything was possible with him.

While he was still immersed in his thoughts, Miguel appeared in front of him and said, leaning nonchalantly on the wall next to him, "Still troubled by your visions? You look tired."

Elias shook his head and told him honestly, "I was thinking about Mykael. I just realized how powerful he has become, and believe me, I’m glad we can count on him and his men."

Miguel raised an eyebrow and Elias answered his silent question on his own, "If I look tired, it’s because I had to use my golden flames to pass through his aura and destroy a seal that prevented him from fully using his powers."

Miguel smiled then and said to him, "I see. It’s because his aura tried to kill you that you finally realized that he had never used his full strength during our training sessions."

Elias just nodded, and Miguel asked him again, "What about your visions?"

He told him, "I’m afraid the war with the Titans is inevitable, and if it’s inevitable, then let’s use the time we have left to prepare as best we can and make sure that when they break the peace, this war will be the shortest in history."

Miguel chuckled and said to him, "You’re right. The harder their defeat, the longer it will take them to recover. Hopefully, this time they will learn their lessons."

Elias nodded, and as he was about to step out of the shadows to continue his briefing with his men, Miguel stopped him and pushed him against the wall, holding him in place, "Are you sure you’re not hiding anything from me?"

As Elias continued to stare at him stubbornly without saying anything, he clarified his question, "Damn, just tell me that Kevin’s birth didn’t change the balance in our universe and that he wasn’t born to replace you."

Elias smiled and grabbed his waist to press his body against his, "I already told you, Miguel, I don’t know. My visions are limited, and I can’t predict if I’m going to die or not. I don’t know if the fact that a second Stage 3 Warrior Spirit has appeared means that I might die or if he appeared just to help us protect the peace, but either way, Kevin is innocent, and he didn’t ask for this."

He added, trying to soothe him, "So whatever happens, never forget that it’s not Kevin’s fault, and protect him like you protected me—at least until the conflict is over. He will probably need you."

Miguel shook his head and told him, "You already taught Kevin everything he needed to know, and trust me, he doesn’t need me. This kid is even smarter than you, so don’t worry; he will be fine."

Miguel then added while caressing his face, "I won’t live another second in this universe if you’re gone, so I don’t know what deal you made with the Creator because you never wanted to tell me, but I hope at the time you really thought it through."

Elias then put his hand behind Miguel’s neck and kissed him passionately. He tightened his embrace and said to him, while still brushing his lips against his, "Believe me, Miguel, I already promised you back then that we would never be separated again. Those two hundred years without you seemed longer than all those millennia spent with you, so of course, I got guarantees. No matter what happens, we won’t be separated this time."

And while Elias wanted to enjoy this moment with Miguel a little more, he felt that two of his men had just gone to Stage 2. So he swore and said to Miguel, "You should take care of calming them down because I’m not sure I will be able to hold my punches."

Miguel then winked at him and disappeared to reappear in front of his men.
