My Life is a literal「Life」stream!-Chapter 20: Hoax
"Ah... " The higher ranked police uncle sighed and rubbed his forehead. "Ol’ Bai!"
Ol’ Bai, the moustached police uncle heard his call and came in to the office. "Eh? Did you call me?"
"Yes, yes." The higher ranked police uncle lit a cigarette and sucked on it. "Release the kid, there had been a mistake."
Earlier, when they had received the report on a suspected terrorist attack using poison gas, they had immediately sprung into action. They used three police cars and lot’s of manpower to sweep every nook and cranny of the entire University town.
After all, if they were to successfully catch him and foil his plans, was a promotion not waiting for them?
Not just a promotion, even. A medal might be given for their hard work, bravery and service to the nation!
But it had all been a hoax.
"..." Ol’ Bai twitched the corners of his lips.
All that manpower wasted for nothing?
"The kid has been proven innocent?"
"Nah. There was no poison gas to even begin with!" The higher ranked police uncle rubber his forehead and spat out a mouthful of smoke.

"This kid... brazenly sleeping in the police station!" A police aunty smacked her lips in disdain as she looked at him.
She really wanted to go up and teach him a good lesson!
This was because, when she was a rookie a few years back, her superior had caught her sleeping on the job. She was severely scolded and given the punishment of having to clean all the toilets and wash the patrol cars every day.
To a cute girl, was he not way too harsh?!
So, it annoyed her whenever people did something "wrong" and went unpunished.
Like this kid before her!
"Aiyah... Someone wake that kid up." Ol’ Bai shook his head as he came out of the higher ranked police uncle’s office.
"I’ll do it! I’ll do it!" The young police aunty raised her hand in joy.
Punishing those who should be punished was the greatest joy of a police officer~
She widened her hand and readied to give him two good slaps...
"Gently, of course. We arrested him unjustly. It’s unfair to wake him up like a criminal." Ol’ Bai continued.
"....." The young police aunty had her eye twitch.
Ol’ Bai, why do you have to take away my joy?!
Why!
Begrudgingly, she lowered her palm and lightly shook Xiao Shen.
"Hey, wake up!"
"Ah, hmm?" Xiao Shen sat up and wiped the drool at the corner of his lips. "Is it morning already?"
Morning?
Morning, your sister!
I really, really want to smack you to death!
The young police officer aunty had her right eye twitch as she looked up at Ol’ Bai.
"Kid, we’re sorry. We made a mistake and arrested you unjustly." Ol’ Bai stroked his moustache profoundly.
Xiao Shen nodded his head. "Right."
There was silence for a few seconds, before he pursed his lips and cocked his head. "Sooo...."
"Yeah, you’re free to go. Sorry for the inconvenience." Ol’ Bai nodded his head. He seemed rather experienced at apologizing for wrong arrests...
"Ah, don’t worry. I had a good nap..." Xiao Shen chuckled lightly, then he felt a terrifying gaze land on his body.
It felt like the time his grandfather’s puppy tried to maul him! A terrifying gaze that made his hair almost stand on end.
He shuddered and coughed lightly, directly changing the topic. "I wasn’t here for long anyways. So, what caused the fainting spell?"
"We are still currently unaware. We’ll reach out to you if we find anything." Ol’ Bai nodded again.
"Fair." Xiao Shen nodded his head.
"Ming Hua, walk him back." Ol’ Bai shifted his gaze over to the young police aunty and instructed her to escort him. If he returned by himself, then surely he would be harassed and suspected.
She was to quell off any suspicions left on him.
"...." The police officer aunty called Ming Hua had the corners of her lips twitch.
Surely she could not slap him on the way, right?
Xiao Shen forced a smile and bowed slightly at her. "I’ll have to be impolite, then."
Meanwhile, the bullet chat that had previously been silent was bubbling with comments:
[Little officer dares disdain Anchor!]
[Anchor, teach her a lesson! Do not let people look down on you!]
[Officer lady, draw your gun and kill this stupid mortal!]
Xiao Shen was speechless.
At the same time, Ming Hua was annoyed on the inside.
Impolite?
Impolite your sister!
Ming Hua had her little palms tightly curled up into fists.
Why the f*ck couldn’t he he polite this time and kindly refuse?! 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

The police station was very close to the university building and was only a twenty or so minutes walk. However, Ming Hua still took a squad patrol car. She let the sirens blair loudly as she drove in, directly attracting the attention of the surrounding people.
The sirens stopped and she rolled down the window. Meanwhile, Xiao Shen opened the door and came out. He then cupped his fists and forced a smile.
"Thank you for the ride, Elder sister Hua."
"Tsk. It’s alright. After all. It was OUR MISTAKE, that caused you to get UNJUSTLY ARRESTED in the FIRST PLACE."
She forced a smile back as she spoke a little bit more louder than usual, putting emphasis on the fact that he was unjustly arrested due to the mistakes of the police department.
"Ah! It was a mistake!"
"They said it was a mistake..."
"Student Shen is a nice guy..."
"There is no way the charges could have been true..."
"She said it was a mistake..."
Countless whispers exploded from the spectating crowds as they muttered their thoughts to themselves as well as each other.
Xiao Shen was taken aback.
Her idea had really worked!
