My Kingdom Building Done Right!-Chapter 26: Tribal War Preparation
"Not bad." Leone nodded in satisfaction.
Sure enough, the two old men were veterans. It hadn’t been long since they started practice, yet they could already hit the wooden wall he had erected at the bottom of the path along the cliff in the mountain.
Aside from Swain and Darius, the two women also practiced operating the mounted repeating crossbows. Their learning speed was slower, but they progressed efficiently.
Like the two old men, they also used to be warriors and had simply quit upon marriage.
Leone had installed three repeating crossbows at the clearing Maximus, Castor, and Pollux mined. They were at least nine meters above the cave entrance, giving them higher ground and visibility compared to others.
All in all, Leone planned to install six mounted repeating crossbows to help in the upcoming battle against the Black Wolf Tribe.
Three of them would face the path leading up the cliff, while the other three would be positioned to face the cliff itself.
That way, if the enemy managed to reach the entrance of their base, they could still support their allies from above.
The defense of the base was also becoming more organized. Leone had installed barricades on the path that led to the cliff, which would slow down any invaders who would try to scale it.
He also planned to set up pitfall traps behind the barricades. If the wolves of the Black Wolf Tribe tried to leap over them, they would find a nasty surprise waiting for them when they landed!
"Leone, I’m back," Daedalus said as it flew toward the spot where the three mounted repeating crossbows had been built. "I got the materials needed to build the fourth one."
"Great." Leone nodded. "Then let’s place it in this spot, just as we planned."
"Good." Daedalus activated its Construction Mode, allowing Leone to place the fourth Special Defensive Structure of their base.
And just like magic, the mounted repeating crossbow materialized before the young man could even blink.
As soon as it was installed, he heard the now familiar chime inside his head. Several rows of text appeared in front of him, informing him of the completion of his second mission.

Leone blinked once, then twice.
’This bonus reward is probably the [???] I’m supposed to receive for my second mission,’ Leone mused. ’Still, isn’t this a bit too OP?’
Daedalus hovered beside him, also reading the list of rewards he received.
"Oh! You got very lucky, Leone," Daedalus said excitedly. "If used properly, this can be extremely beneficial to you right now."
Leone understood what the grimoire was trying to say. However, he felt that this reward had come too early.
Right now, he was still showing the Alborin Tribe what he could do. Many of them thought he was some kind of mage because of the miraculous powers he possessed.
But unless Leone managed to win them over completely, he wouldn’t be recruiting another vassal anytime soon.
Even though the young man wasn’t saying anything, Daedalus understood what he was thinking. Because of this, it skipped commenting and simply watched as Leone opened his own Status Page to see his growth.

"I finally got stronger," Leone said before flipping his hair. "Hah... I’m so amazing."
Swain, Darius, and the two women looked at the young man, who was now laughing like a third-rate villain.
They had no idea what he was talking about. But that didn’t change the fact that they now recognized Leone as an important member of their tribe.
Before Leone could truly revel in his own greatness, the rows of text in front of him disappeared, replaced by a new one.

Both Leone and Daedalus turned serious at the sight of their third mission.
"Five days..." Leone said in a solemn tone. "Daedaus, is this what I think it is?"
"Yes," Daedalus replied. "While it is not set in stone, the possibility of the Black Wolf Tribe raiding this place after five days is very high."
The young man took a deep sigh before giving Daedalus an order.
"Sound the bell," Leone ordered. "We need to convene a meeting. Now."
Daedalus didn’t hesitate and followed its master’s command.
A few seconds later, the sound of the bell echoed across the entirety of Grimjaw Mountain.
Ulric and his men, who were currently hunting for food in the forests, looked up at the mountain and ran back to their camp with haste.
The warriors who were chopping trees down in the forest stopped whatever they were doing and returned to their base without a second thought.
The bell didn’t only serve as a warning in case their camp was attacked. It was also there to inform the Alborin Tribe of an emergency that affected them as a whole.
