This was the interface that welcomed Hal, tapping on the quest window as he relaxed on his dormitory suite’s plush sofa.

’Oh, right...’

[An additional quest slot has been added!]

This was one of the notifications when he upgraded the system.

’Well, let’s see both, then...’

Hal first expanded the [Quest I] option:

’Hmm...the same arcanist questline, huh?’ he mused.

Hal had somewhat already expected it, though. He tapped the minimize option for [Quest I] before expanding [Quest II]:

Quest Title: The Fell’s Adversary

Act 1: Felling the Fell

Hunt Fellkin - 1/2

Reward: 1x Permanent durability, [Epic]-tier spell card voucher

’Oh?’

Hal was surprised to find that his previous kill was counted, but what petrified him momentarily was the rewards.

A permanent durability, [Epic]-tier spell card!

Who wouldn’t want such a boon?

However, Hal could only sigh.

Perhaps Fellkin warriors are aplenty on the frontlines, but with his current strength and status, meeting them could only happen through chance.

This quest would have to wait for a while.

And so, Hal focused on the first questline instead.

’Five hundred Uncommon-tier artifacts of superior grade and above, huh?’ he pondered. ’I’ll need a lot of materials for that...’

The problem was that hunting E-ranked monsters and beasts, while easy, no longer earned him any Chaos Points, so gathering materials without help would be an utter chore.

’Aihh... I’ll think of a solution tomorrow...’ Hal sighed, heading to the bathroom for a nice, warm half-bath before lying down on his bed.

He was spent after a good workout session, and dreamland was calling to him.

He would sleep for now and think things through with a clear mind tomorrow.

The ebony skies gradually made way for a mix of blue, yellow, orange, and vermilion hues as the sun began its majestic ascent, heralding the start of another day.

As the kingly celestial body’s warm rays caressed Hal’s eyelids through his dormitory window, he inevitably woke.

Hal stretched for a good while before hopping out of bed, yawning as he prepared a nice breakfast for both him and Loki.

There was no need, and, quite frankly, it was useless for him to attend wizardry lessons.

So, his agenda for today was to take on a few quests from the Mission Hall to inch his way toward a higher wizard rank and hunt for appropriate crafting materials, all while thinking of a solution to gather the materials for five hundred Uncommon-tier artifacts as quickly as possible. ƒrēenovelkiss.com

Done with his first meal of the day, Hal headed to the bathroom to take a quick bath, dried himself, applied deodorant, and donned a fresh set of the Grand Magic Academy uniform: a white long-sleeve shirt, a chaleco vest top, and black pants.

’Ahh... my uniform is still for one-star students...’ Hal noticed for a moment, then shrugged indifferently and donned his dark-blue capelet with the Grand Magic Academy’s insignia on it.

’Handsome as usual!’ he praised himself before striding out the door, this time without a sack bag.

The dormitory staff greeted him, and naturally, Hal happily reciprocated.

’Damn, this dormitory is like a hotel, no?’

Soon, he arrived at the gates and exchanged pleasantries with the talkative guard, Olson, before exiting the freshman five-star dormitory area.

It was then that someone suddenly called out to him:

"Oh? There you are! Good morning, Boss Hal!"

Inevitably, he turned to look, his brows rising in surprise at the sight of a tall, lean young man with gray hair tied into a ponytail and a black diamond earring in his left ear.

"Vyse?" Hal responded as he walked closer to the renowned sophomore. "What? Do you need something from me?"

"Aihh, that hurts my feelings, Boss Hal. Wasn’t it you who wanted me to be your underling? You won our bet, so here I am, honoring my word." Vyse lamented jokingly.

Hal’s brows rose further at the sophomore’s words.

Who would’ve expected the solution to his problem to be waiting for him right outside his dormitory gates?

"Right..." Hal’s eyes narrowed, a subtle grin forming on his face. "So... do you think we could form a union together? With our combined fame in the academy, plenty of students would join, no?"

Vyse fell silent, though his slight, confident smile never left his face.

The sophomore had long since learned that the freshman in front of him wasn’t someone who acted without a goal.

Someone who had won the Arcana Primis Cup wouldn’t be such a person.

"Of course," Vyse affirmed. "With our combined fame, along with the modest bit my subordinates can contribute, we could form a student union, and many would probably join. However, the length of their stay and the speed of our rise will depend on how well you can lead everyone. No one’s willing to operate at a loss, after all. A solid reward system and truly exciting, beneficial incentives will be the deciding factor in whether the members would be willing to work hard for the union or not.

How confident are you, Boss Hal?"

This time, it was Hal who fell silent.

They had fame on their side, and he was confident in his ability to lead, but he wasn’t rich...

’Rewards...Rewards...what can I offer...’ he pondered.

Vyse merely observed him patiently, seemingly testing his competence.

Only a few moments later did Hal finally lock eyes with the sophomore again, having already thought of a few ideas:

"What about high-tier spell books and arcane artifacts from a rising young arcanist? Would that be enough to send them on missions to collect E-ranked cores and materials from E-ranked beasts?"

Vyse’s brows rose.

"How high of a spellbook tier are we talking here, Boss? Also, which rising young arcanist?" the sophomore asked.

"Around rare-tier, for starters. I’ll also throw in a few uncommon-tier ones for variety. As for the artifacts, they’d be from Joker."

Vyse choked on his saliva at what he heard.

"J-Joker? You know that guy?"
