My Infinite Cultivation System-Chapter 94: Inside the ocean
The moment they exited the atmosphere above the Celestus estate, their paths diverged.
Alex did not slow down or look back.
While Noah and Arthur angled themselves toward the vast stretches of land where planetary monsters roamed across forests, mountains, and ruined cities, Alex tilted his body downward and accelerated toward the distant horizon where the ocean began.
There was no need for discussion. The decision had already been made in his mind.
Efficiency demanded separation.
Three hunters covering three domains would yield the highest return.
"Maintain communication," Alex said calmly through the link. "Try to kill the monsters using different combat style."
Noah’s voice came through, steady and eager. "Got it. Try not to have all the fun down there."
Arthur added, "We will focus on high-density regions. Do not overextend alone."
Alex responded simply. "I will be fine."
Then he cut the connection.
His speed increased.
The continent beneath him blurred into insignificance as the deep blue of the ocean expanded across his vision. From above, it looked calm, almost peaceful, but Alex’s sensors told a different story.
The ocean was alive.
It was the single largest concentration of planetary-level monsters on the planet.
Which meant it was the most efficient hunting ground.
He descended without hesitation.
The moment his body pierced the surface, the ocean exploded upward. A massive column of water rose into the air as he entered at extreme velocity, the force of his impact sending shockwaves in every direction.
Then silence swallowed him.
The light from above faded quickly as he descended deeper. The suit adjusted instantly, compensating for pressure, temperature, and visibility. His surroundings transformed into a vast, dark expanse illuminated only by faint natural glows and the steady blue light of his armor.
His sensors activated fully.
Targets appeared.
Dozens at first.
Then hundreds.
Then thousands.
Alex did not hesitate.
He moved.
A burst of energy formed in his palm and fired forward in a compressed beam. It tore through the water and struck a massive creature shaped like a serpent, its body stretching across dozens of meters.
The beam pierced through its skull.
The creature died instantly.
Alex was already moving before the corpse began to sink.
He retrieved the core with mechanical precision and redirected his trajectory toward the next cluster of signatures.
No wasted motion.
No unnecessary force.
Every action was calculated.
Another monster lunged from the darkness, its jaws wide and lined with jagged teeth. Alex sidestepped with minimal movement, his body shifting just enough to avoid the attack. His hand extended, and a focused pulse of energy detonated inside the creature’s body.
It ruptured from within.
Core secured.
He continued. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
The ocean responded.
The scent of blood spread quickly through the water, drawing more creatures toward him. Large shadows moved through the darkness, converging from every direction.
Alex welcomed it.
"This is optimal," he murmured.
His suit displayed synchronization levels in real time.
Forty five percent.
Forty six percent.
The increase was steady.
Each kill refined the connection between his mind and the armor. The delay between thought and action decreased further, approaching absolute precision.
He accelerated.
His movements became sharper, more efficient. To the creatures around him, he was no longer a single target.
He was everywhere.
He appeared beside one monster, destroyed it instantly, then vanished before its body could fall. He reappeared behind another, his strike precise and lethal. Energy pulses, blades, and bursts flowed seamlessly from his movements, each one optimized for maximum damage with minimal expenditure.
The ocean began to churn.
Waves formed at the surface far above, disturbed by the chaos unfolding below.
Still, Alex continued deeper.
The density of monsters increased as he descended. The creatures grew larger, their energy signatures stronger, their movements more deliberate.
These were not mindless beasts.
They were predators too.
And now they had found something worth hunting.
A massive shape moved through the darkness ahead of him. Its body was thick and armored, its presence dominating the surrounding space. It turned slowly, sensing him.
Alex did not slow down.
He closed the distance instantly.
His hand formed a concentrated sphere of energy, compressed to its limit. The moment he reached striking range, he drove it forward.
The attack detonated on impact.
The creature’s armor cracked, but did not break completely.
Alex adjusted.
"Durability higher than average," he noted.
The creature retaliated.
Its tail lashed out with immense force, displacing water in a violent surge. Alex moved upward, avoiding the strike by a narrow margin. The shockwave still brushed against him, but the suit absorbed the impact.
He countered immediately.
Multiple energy pulses fired in rapid succession, targeting the same weakened point. The armor fractured further.
Then shattered.
Alex drove forward and extracted the core directly.
The creature’s body went limp.
He released it and moved on.
Time lost meaning.
Minutes blended together as he continued his assault. The number of cores stored within his system increased steadily, each one a step closer to his larger objective.
Above the ocean, far across the land, Noah and Arthur were engaged in their own battles.
Noah moved like a storm across the battlefield.
Wherever he went, destruction followed.
Entire groups of monsters fell under his overwhelming attacks. His fighting style was direct, powerful, and relentless. The star suit amplified his already immense strength, turning each strike into something catastrophic.
He laughed as he fought.
"Now this is what I call training."
Arthur operated differently.
He chose his targets carefully, prioritizing efficiency over volume. His movements were precise, his attacks calculated. He studied the behavior of each monster before engaging, ensuring that every action served a purpose.
Between them, the land was being cleared at an alarming rate.
Back in the ocean, Alex slowed slightly.
Not out of fatigue.
Out of awareness.
Something had changed.
The water around him felt heavier.
The movement of smaller creatures had ceased entirely.
They had fled.
That meant only one thing.
A superior presence had entered the area.
Alex’s sensors confirmed it.
A massive energy signature appeared below him, far larger than anything he had encountered so far. It was not moving quickly, but its presence distorted the surrounding environment.
Alex’s expression remained calm.
"This is acceptable," he said quietly.
He descended.
The darkness deepened as he moved closer. The pressure increased, but the suit compensated without issue.
Then he saw it.
A colossal entity rested near the ocean floor. Its body was immense, partially embedded in the terrain, its surface covered in layered armor that pulsed faintly with energy. Its shape was irregular, almost shifting, as if it did not fully belong to this world.
Its eyes opened slowly.
The ocean trembled.
A wave of pressure spread outward, carrying with it an oppressive force that would have crushed any normal being instantly.
Alex remained still for a fraction of a second.
Analyzing.
Calculating.
Then he moved.
The creature reacted immediately.
Its body surged upward with impossible speed, its massive limb cutting through the water as it struck toward him. The force behind the attack distorted the surrounding space.
Alex intercepted.
His arm rose, the suit reinforcing the point of contact. The impact pushed him back, but did not break his stance.
"High output confirmed," he said.
He adjusted his position.
Energy gathered around his body, the suit channeling power into his next action.
