Chapter 111: Primordial Mountain Lion

The air still trembled from the aftermath of the battle when Alex folded his wings and left.

The shattered battlefield behind him remained silent for several seconds, as though reality itself needed time to recover from what had just occurred. The ground was fractured in long jagged lines, entire ridges had been flattened, and the lingering shockwaves continued to ripple faintly through the terrain. Dust clouds drifted slowly through the air, illuminated by fading fragments of energy.

Then the murmurs began.

"He defeated Xylo."

"Rank ten... he defeated rank ten."

"No. That was not defeat. That was domination."

The spectators who had gathered around the battlefield stared in the direction Alex had vanished. None of them spoke loudly. Even the strongest among them felt an unfamiliar pressure settle in their minds. They had all arrived expecting to witness a brutal but predictable clash. Xylo was rank ten. His martial soul was above primordial grade. Even among top ranked geniuses, he was considered extremely dangerous.

Yet Alex had ended the fight with a single controlled strike.

More importantly, he had done it casually.

Some of the observers slowly retreated. Others remained where they were, silently reevaluating everything they knew.

One of them exhaled slowly. "We thought he was just a bounty target."

Another replied, "That assumption just died. He has gained something invincible from a ruin. What kind of Luck is this. His bounty is going to rise tremendously from here on out."

The battlefield that had once been considered a hunting ground suddenly felt dangerous. The prey had turned into something far more threatening than the hunters.

News spread quickly.

Participants who had not even witnessed the battle began hearing fragments of information. Rank ten defeated. Martial soul activated. Single strike. Instant knockout. No visible injury to Alex. No loss of control.

Each retelling made the situation more alarming.

Those who had been preparing to hunt Alex began reconsidering. Some quietly removed him from their target list. Others became more interested instead. But even they no longer viewed him as prey. He had become a rival.

A problem.

A variable.

Someone who could disrupt the entire ranking structure.

Meanwhile, far from the battlefield, twelve figures stood together on a high plateau overlooking a broken valley. Their clothing and aura were distinct from the others. They did not belong to the same universe as most participants.

They belonged to Alex’s universe.

They had been watching from a distance, sensing the fluctuations even before the battle ended. None of them spoke immediately. The silence between them carried weight. They had all seen powerful geniuses before. They themselves were among the best their universe could produce.

But what they had just witnessed was different.

Jaros was the first to break the silence.

"He is growing too fast."

One of the others crossed his arms. "He was already strong when he entered. But this... this is beyond expectation."

Another spoke slowly. "Xylo used a primordial martial soul. Alex did not even use his full abilities."

They exchanged glances.

The implication was obvious.

Jaros looked toward the distant horizon where Alex had vanished. His expression remained calm, but his eyes carried unmistakable certainty.

"He is someone whose destiny is beyond our imagination."

The others remained quiet.

Jaros continued, "I think he can really bring our universe’s name to the peak."

One by one, they nodded.

They were not easily impressed. Most of them were arrogant by nature. They had grown in environments where they were treated as prodigies. Yet Alex’s growth trajectory forced them to reconsider their own limits.

If he continued like this, he would not only climb the rankings. He would change the balance between universes.

Far away from them, another battlefield unfolded.

A massive behemoth creature roared as it collapsed. Its body resembled a fusion of wood and flesh, towering dozens of meters tall, with thick armor plating covering its limbs. The ground beneath it cratered as it fell, sending dust outward in heavy waves.

Standing atop its shattered skull was Valerias.

His blade was embedded deep inside the monster’s head. Dark energy still flickered along its edge. He pulled it free calmly, shaking off fragments of bone and tissue.

The behemoth stopped moving.

Valerias stepped down from the corpse. His expression remained composed. There was no sign of effort in his breathing. To him, the fight had been routine.

A subordinate approached quickly from behind, kneeling slightly.

"Lord Valerias."

Valerias did not turn. "Speak."

"News from the eastern battlefield. The target... Alex... he defeated rank ten."

Valerias paused.

"Xylo?"

"Yes."

"Martial soul?"

"Activated."

Valerias wiped a trace of blood from his cheek with his thumb. His lips curved slightly.

"Is that so?"

There was no concern in his tone. No tension. Only interest.

The subordinate waited.

Valerias looked toward the distant horizon, as though he could already sense Alex’s direction.

"Then increase the bounty. Ten thousand points."

The subordinate stiffened slightly. "Ten thousand... understood. But he has a tresure which can increase speed."

"Then make it 15000 but the treasure will be mine. If anyone dares to take that, I’ll hunt him down my self.", Valerias said coldly.

" As you wish."

He left immediately.

Valerias remained standing beside the fallen behemoth. The wind carried the scent of dust and blood across the terrain. He licked his lips slowly, as though savoring an invisible taste.

"You have caught the eyes of Sofia the demoness. If she likes your soul, then it must be special." he murmured quietly. "I would like to devour your soul."

His gaze shifted again, searching for his next prey.

Then he moved.

Meanwhile, Alex traveled toward the mountain range.

The terrain gradually changed as he moved farther from the shattered battlefield. The land became uneven, rising into jagged formations that stretched toward the sky. The air grew colder. Vegetation disappeared. Even the wind seemed muted.

From above, the mountain range resembled a vast cluster of dark stone rising from the earth. The peaks were irregular, forming overlapping ridges that created deep shadows between them. No movement could be seen. No animals. No insects.

It was unnaturally quiet.

Alex slowed and hovered briefly above the outer ridge. His wings folded behind him. He observed the area carefully.

"I hope he has some good talent," he muttered.

Then he descended.

His boots touched the ground softly. Dust shifted beneath his weight. The silence pressed inward immediately, amplifying even the faintest sound. He began walking forward at a steady pace.

Five minutes passed.

He crossed into the inner region of the mountain range.

Instantly, a deep chill ran through his body.

Something was watching him.

Alex stopped.

His perception expanded outward as he stretched his mental domain. Invisible waves spread across the terrain, scanning every surface, every crevice, every fluctuation.

Then he saw it.

Cold sweat ran down his spine.

The entire mountain range pulsed.

It was subtle at first. A slow rhythmic contraction, like breathing. The rock formations were not static. They expanded and contracted by microscopic degrees. The ground beneath him vibrated faintly.

It was alive.

Information surfaced in his mind.

[Name: Primordial Mountain Lion

Talent: Soul Destruction (Genesis)

Rank: Planetary Level 9

Genetic Strength: 30x

Note: Combat Power approximately 300000 planets.

Note: It possesses a manifested decoy form. The main body is the entire mountain range.

It can destroy targets through gaze-based soul annihilation if their talent grade is lower.]

"Holy shit," Alex muttered.

He looked around again.

This entire mountain range was the lion.

Not one hundred thousand planets.

Three hundred thousand.

And that talent.

Soul Destruction at Genesis grade.

No wonder the other geniuses avoided this region.

Its base strength alone approached star-level beings. Its total combat output surpassed almost everything in the planetary category. And the gaze-based ability meant even approaching it was dangerous.

"Thank god I have telekinesis," Alex muttered quietly.

He would not be instantly killed due to his own genesis-level talent, but this creature was far too dangerous. Even a minor miscalculation could end the fight immediately.

"Rafael, what should I do?"

He waited.

Rafael responded calmly.

[You should leave for now and use Sofia’s talent to strengthen your soul before upgrading it to the planetary level. After that, you can merge your talents safely.]

Alex considered it.

It was logical advice.

But he evaluated the variables again.

The creature had immense power. However, its speed was not necessarily comparable. If he used his full acceleration, he could strike first. With five times light speed and controlled output, he might overwhelm the decoy and locate the core.

His calculations leaned toward victory.

"I am going for the hunt," he decided.

Crimson void wings unfolded behind him.

Boom.

The world slowed.

Dust froze in midair. The shifting terrain became predictable. Even the faint pulsation of the mountains appeared measurable. Alex accelerated instantly, crossing distance in a flash.

He appeared beside a vertical cliff face.

He drew back his arm to strike.

Then two eyes opened in the stone.

They formed instantly.

And they locked onto him.

Even at his full speed.

Alex felt a deeper chill than before.

"Shit."
