Chapter 76: Chapter 76: The Real Culprit

"Wu Chong, Zhang Xiaoduo once saw you as her everything. She considered you the most cherished love of her life, but you betrayed her. You actually sent her into the lion’s den, letting her suffer such humiliation that she ultimately took her own life in bitterness!

"And you, Zhang Xiaoduo’s so-called best friends. Heh, what were you just saying? That Zhang Xiaoduo deserved to die? That she should have dedicated her life to making you happy? You’re not even human.

"I gave all of you a chance before, didn’t I? I told you to come to Zhang Xiaoduo’s grave and repent. Unfortunately, it seems not a single one of you bothered to show up. Did you think my words were just a fart?"

"I was wrong! I was truly wrong! I’ll repent now! I’ll repent for three days and three nights!" Wu Chong groveled as he crawled over, desperate for Yang Qi’s forgiveness.

However, Yang Qi’s eyes held only indifference. Sometimes, once an opportunity is missed, it’s gone forever. But these people didn’t understand that.

Zhang Junwang also dropped to his knees, crying in terror, "I was wrong! We were all wrong! I’m willing to atone for my sins, willing to give up everything I have!"

Zhang Peng also began kowtowing repeatedly.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

Everyone was terrified. The sound of their foreheads hitting the ground was deafening, one thud after another, until they started drawing blood.

"Are you really willing to give up everything?" Yang Qi chuckled.

"Yes, we’re willing! As long as you spare our lives, we’ll give up everything!" Zhang Junwang wailed.

"Xiong Ba, go get the contracts. Have them sign and press their fingerprints," Yang Qi said nonchalantly. "If you hand over all your assets, I can consider letting you live."

"We’ll sign! We’ll sign!"

No amount of money could ever compare to one’s life, after all. As long as they could survive, they were willing to surrender everything.

Xiong Ba brought the contracts.

Zhang Junwang and Zhang Peng signed. The Zhang Family’s entire portfolio of assets was transferred to the Qifei Group and Yang Qi.

Wu Chong and Zhang Xiaoduo’s two ’best friends’ also signed. Their money and their companies now belonged to Yang Qi and the Qifei Group as well. The same vicious means they had used to acquire it all was now how they lost it.

"Hm, very good." Yang Qi smiled and nodded, handing the stack of contracts to Ye Fei.

The Zhang Family was utterly finished. In an instant, they went from being a first-rate family in Kang City to having nothing. Everything they had was stripped away.

However, this was only the beginning.

Yang Qi turned to Lei Tingjun. "Commander Lei, I’ve already handed their criminal evidence to the relevant departments. The rest is up to you. Sentence them for whatever crimes they have committed."

"NO—!" Zhang Junwang screamed. He would rather die than go to prison. He had sent many people there himself; if he went in, penniless no less, he would surely be beaten to death.

"I don’t want to go! No!" Zhang Peng cried. "We gave you everything, you can’t do this!"

"Heh," Yang Qi scoffed. "Did you really think that after murdering Zhang Xiaoduo and nearly destroying me, you could settle things with just a bit of money? I only said I wouldn’t kill you. I never said I’d let you get away with it!"

"Take them all away!" Lei Tingjun gave the order.

Every member of the Zhang Family, along with Wu Chong and the others—even Bai Xingjian and Master Jiu—were taken away.

Yang Qi then looked at the seventy-two wolves. "Do you choose to die, or do you choose to submit to me?"

"We are willing to follow Mr. Yang!" the Wolf King replied after a moment’s thought, kneeling directly on the ground. The power Yang Qi had displayed was simply too terrifying. He had destroyed the entire Zhang Family with a mere wave of his hand. If they followed a man like that, their future would surely be much brighter.

"Very good. You will be proud of your choice," Yang Qi nodded. "Come with me. I’m going to reclaim something else that’s mine."

With the Zhang Family dealt with, it was time to send the Li Family packing.

"Huang Borren, Xiong Ba, you two go with Ye Fei to the Zhang Family estate and take possession of all their assets," Yang Qi said to the three of them.

"Understood!"

Ye Fei felt like he was in a dream. Everything had happened so bizarrely, so incredibly. In the blink of an eye, the entire fortune of the Zhang Family now belonged to the Qifei Group and Yang Qi?

"Mr. Yang, it’s too lonely here. I suggest we move Miss Zhang Xiaoduo’s grave to a proper cemetery," Ye Lingyue spoke up. "We’ll cover all the expenses, so you don’t need to worry. I’ll let you know once it’s done."

"Thank you. I appreciate it," Yang Qi said. He too didn’t want Zhang Xiaoduo to be alone out here.

"MEOW!"

Just then, a cat darted out from behind the grave mound. It was a pure white cat, which was quite rare. It was just like Zhang Xiaoduo, who usually liked to wear white clothes. The cat leaped directly onto Yang Qi’s shoulder and began meowing insistently.

"Strange, isn’t this the cat Zhang Xiaoduo kept? Why is it here?" Ye Fei said, stunned.

"Since you were Xiaoduo’s cat, I’ll call you Xiaoduo from now on. I’ll take care of you," Yang Qi said with a gentle smile, stroking the white cat’s head.

"What an adorable cat! Let me pet her too," Lin Qingxuan said, smiling as she walked over. Sometime during the commotion, Uncle Jian and his men had already departed, as mysteriously as they had arrived.

"MEOW!"

The moment Lin Qingxuan reached out to pet the small cat, it suddenly bristled its fur, seeming very reluctant.

"Easy, Xiaoduo," Yang Qi said softly. "This lady is my best friend. Let her take you home for now. I have some business to attend to."

As if it understood him, the cat, Xiaoduo, obediently allowed Lin Qingxuan to pet it. It still seemed unwilling to leave his side, though.

"Alright then, I’ll take you with me. Qingxuan, you all head home first," Yang Qi said.

"Let me come along and watch the fun!" Lin Qingxuan replied with a grin. She knew what he was about to do.

"Fine."

After they descended the mountain, they were surprised to find Lei Tingjun and Zhang Junwang still waiting there.

"Is there something you need?" Yang Qi asked, knowing Zhang Junwang must have stayed behind for a reason.

"You don’t actually think our Zhang Family could have destroyed your company all on our own, do you?" Zhang Junwang countered.

Yang Qi paused.

Upon reflection, the Zhang Family only had assets worth a few billion. It wouldn’t have been that easy for them to destroy his company. Moreover, bribing so many people was definitely beyond their capabilities. Someone else must have been pulling the strings or helping from behind the scenes.

"Looks like you’ve figured it out," Zhang Junwang said with a smirk. "You think you’ve won just by destroying the Zhang Family? Your troubles have only just begun! I’ll tell you the truth: the Qin Family was behind us! To be precise, it was Qin Tian!

"Qin Tian orchestrated everything. Most of your company’s technology has fallen into the Qin Family’s hands. Oh, and that woman of yours, Li Qiutong? She’s Qin Tian’s woman now. Surprised? That woman is very resourceful when it comes to things like that."

"The Qin Family!" Yang Qi took a deep breath. If what Zhang Junwang said was true, then Qin Tian was the true culprit behind it all.
