My husband Can Cultivate-Chapter 58: The Fake Master Chen!
"I’ll spare you the death penalty, but you won’t escape punishment. Let them slap their own faces. Fifty times each."
Yang Qi couldn’t be bothered with such petty individuals and walked straight inside.
"Mr. Yang is merciful. I’ll let you off this time," Xiong Ba roared, also following him in. "Otherwise, I would have gouged your eyes out! Now start slapping!"
The security captain let out a sigh of relief. Slapping their own faces, while painful, was far better than being blinded. I’ve narrowly escaped disaster.
Xiong Ba led Yang Qi to a private room and motioned for him to sit down.
"Alright, tell me what’s going on," Yang Qi said, glancing at his phone. He was on a tight schedule, as time was incredibly precious to him.
"Actually, it’s nothing major," Xiong Ba began to explain. "Mr. Yang, as you know, I carry some weight in Kang City. I own several clubs and security companies, and most people give me some face, calling me Brother Ba. But I’ve offended quite a few people along the way. Last time, in the urban village, I helped you take care of those scoundrels, but I didn’t expect to provoke the Zhang Family. That Zhang Peng has a master who is extremely formidable. Rumor has it he’s already an Innate master."
"I had already heard from Zhang Peng that his master was returning. I was wondering just how formidable he could be. So he’s an Innate master. No wonder Zhang Peng was so confident!" Yang Qi sneered.
An Innate master was a level that approached a true Master. Truly extraordinary. However, he wasn’t the least bit intimidated. In his eyes, Martial Arts was just brute force. How could it compare to the profundity of Immortal Cultivation?
"Mr. Yang, if you can help me take care of that guy, you’ll also be saving yourself from future trouble. After it’s all over, I’ll give you five million!" Xiong Ba offered.
"Are you treating me like a beggar?" Yang Qi said coolly. "If you want my help, it’s simple. Become my subordinate and work for me. From now on, half of everything you earn is mine!"
"Quite an appetite!"
Before Xiong Ba could respond, a voice boomed from outside. Immediately after, two people entered the room: one old, one young. The older man appeared to be in his fifties or sixties. With his hands clasped behind his back, he wore a traditional kung fu suit. His bulging temples were a clear sign that he was a powerful expert.
"Master Chen!" Xiong Ba exclaimed, hurriedly standing up to greet him with a reverence that far exceeded what he had shown Yang Qi.
Clearly, this was the helper Xiong Ba truly trusted. Yang Qi was just here to make up the numbers.
"Young man, even I wouldn’t dare make such an exorbitant demand. Who do you think you are?" Master Chen walked in and looked at Yang Qi coldly, his face a mask of arrogance. He completely disregarded him. "I’m telling you, Xiong Ba, why did you invite someone like this? If that fellow shows up, this kid will be nothing but cannon fodder. You’re offering him five million? I’d say even fifty thousand is too much."
Yang Qi simply smiled and said nothing. Skill isn’t demonstrated with words; it has to be shown.
Seeing Yang Qi’s silence, Master Chen couldn’t be bothered with him either. He turned to Xiong Ba. "Don’t worry. He may be an Innate master, but so am I. With me here, you have nothing to fear!"
"Then I’ll be counting on you, Master Chen! After this is over, you’ll receive every bit of the reward I promised!" Xiong Ba said with a wide smile.
"You’re too kind!" Master Chen replied, squinting as if calculating the profits from this deal.
"Kid, what are you still doing here? Get lost! You’re not needed today!" the young man who arrived with Master Chen barked at Yang Qi.
"No, no, no! We’re all friends here! This is a perfect opportunity for Mr. Yang to witness Master Chen’s prowess!" Xiong Ba interjected hastily. The man clearly intended to use Master Chen to put Yang Qi in his place and force him to become his subordinate.
But his plans were destined to fail.
BOOM!
At that moment, the door to the private room was violently kicked open. A man in his forties or fifties, dressed in a long robe and possessing a robust physique, strode in.
"Xiong Ba, long time no see!" the newcomer said, a cold smile spreading across his face.
"Bai Mu!" Xiong Ba’s expression changed instantly.
Bai Mu hadn’t even made a move, yet his terrifying aura was enough to make Xiong Ba tremble. At the end of the day, Xiong Ba was just an ordinary man whose fighting ability had earned him his current status. He lived a comfortable life with a Postnatal master as a bodyguard. Against an Innate master like Bai Mu, however, that meant nothing.
Yang Qi also turned his gaze to Bai Mu. It was obvious that Bai Mu was far more formidable than Master Chen. Though both were Innate masters, the strength of their internal energy was worlds apart.
This Master Chen is no good!
"Bai Mu, do you really have to kill me?" Xiong Ba asked with a frown.
"What a stupid question. Did you think you could just forget our past grudge? If it weren’t for you, I never would have suffered a cultivation deviation and nearly died!" Bai Mu retorted coldly.
"It wasn’t on purpose!" Xiong Ba forced a bitter smile. "Back then, I just accidentally wandered into your cultivation grounds."
"Enough talk. Prepare to die!" Bai Mu suddenly lunged at Xiong Ba.
Xiong Ba’s bodyguard immediately rushed forward to intercept him.
BANG!
With a single move, the bodyguard was sent flying. He slammed against the wall, blood pouring from his wounds as he collapsed, unable to move.
"How audacious! Do you think I’m not here?" Master Chen stood up, his voice filled with anger.
"And who are you? Why should I care if you’re here?" Bai Mu shot him an indifferent, disdainful glance.
"You’re courting death!"
Before Master Chen could act, his impatient disciple charged out first. This disciple was not weak—also an Innate master—but he was far weaker than Bai Mu, and weaker even than Master Chen himself.
"A mere entry-level Innate master dares to act so presumptuously before me? Get lost!"
Bai Mu threw a punch. He struck second but landed first, smashing it into the disciple’s chest.
CRACK!
The distinct sound of breaking bones echoed through the room as the disciple was sent flying, screaming in agony.
Witnessing this, Xiong Ba sucked in a cold breath. He’s too strong. I had heard Bai Mu was formidable, but I never imagined he’d become this powerful. They’re both Innate masters, yet the gap between them is immense.
"Master Chen!" he cried out, turning to his last hope for help.
"Don’t worry. The moment I make my move, he is certain to lose," Master Chen declared as he stood up. He stared coldly at Bai Mu. "Kid, I advise you to leave now. Otherwise, you will surely die."
"Enough of your nonsense. Make your move," Bai Mu replied, his voice still ice-cold.
Master Chen snorted and attacked. In a single exchange, however, Bai Mu caught his wrist and snapped it instantly before stomping him to the ground.
"You’re just trash who reached the Innate Realm by relying on elixirs. Your foundation is completely unstable. Get lost!"
Bai Mu kicked Master Chen away as easily as if he were kicking a dead dog.
Xiong Ba panicked. It’s over! I’m completely doomed!
