Yan Bo had made all the arrangements, but he still needed endorsers. He already had one person in mind: Elder Chen Guo. Elder Chen Guo held significant influence in Jingnan Prefecture and had an excellent reputation. With his endorsement, the Qifei Group would undoubtedly do very well. But Elder Chen Guo alone wasn't enough. Yan Bo also needed a celebrity endorser for broader promotion. For this role, he had chosen Bai Yumei, one of the country's top-tier actresses.

Bai Yumei had originally come to Yang Qi for a psychological issue. After he treated her, she hadn't immediately left Kang City, choosing to stay and recuperate instead. He gave Bai Yumei a call.

"I'm in Dawang Village!" she said.

Yang Qi was stunned. What is a big star like her doing in Dawang Village?

He drove over anyway. At the village entrance, he met Bai Yumei, who then led him to a house. It was a newly renovated brick house and looked quite nice. In the courtyard stood a man in his thirties who bore a striking resemblance to Bai Yumei.

"This is my brother, Bai Chuan," she admitted openly.

Yang Qi was stunned. Bai Yumei has a brother from the countryside? No one knew about this. The media had certainly never reported it.

Bai Yumei continued, "My brother killed someone for my sake. It was an accident, but he ended up spending ten years in prison. Now, even though I'm wealthy, I can't change the course of his life. He was released, but people are still looking for trouble with him. They say they want revenge. My brother can't even return to his original home, so he's hiding out here." She sighed heavily.

Yang Qi glanced at the man. He was just sitting there, his eyes lifeless, as if he had no hope for the future.

Just then, Yang Qi's gaze shifted to the gate, a cold smirk touching his lips. "You two, hide in the back in a moment."

No sooner had he spoken than the courtyard gate was kicked open. A dozen burly men charged in.

"Go! Get out of here!" Bai Chuan suddenly shouted. "We don't know each other, and we never will. Hurry up and go!"

A hint of relief flickered in his eyes. Perhaps this is just my fate. As long as my sister, the famous star, can live a good life, that's enough for me.

"Bai Yumei, go inside. Don't let anyone see you," Yang Qi said calmly.

"No, this is our family's problem. It has nothing to do with you," Bai Yumei replied, shaking her head. "You saved my life, so I can't let you get hurt. You should be the one to leave!"

The intruders stormed into the courtyard. "No one is leaving today!" one of them yelled. Their leader was a man with a crew cut and bulging muscles. He looks tough, but he's just an ordinary person. Not even on the same level as Xiong Ba.

"Bai Chuan, oh, Bai Chuan, you really made me look for you!" the crew-cut man sneered viciously. "You killed my little brother, and you only got ten years in prison for it. Did you think that was the end of it? Today, I'm taking your life to avenge my brother!"

"Your brother made the first move! He tried to assault my sister!" Bai Chuan roared back. "I was acting in self-defense! If you hadn't bribed people, I wouldn't have gotten such a harsh sentence! Aren't you satisfied yet?"

"Satisfied? Satisfied my ass!" the crew-cut man laughed coldly. "Today, I'll finish what my brother started. You lot, hold this dog down! I'm going to defile his sister right in front of him and see what he can do about it!"

"If you dare touch my sister, I'll fight you to the death!" Bai Chuan snarled, grabbing an iron shovel from the yard. "I've killed a man before! Worst case, I'll just kill again. My life is already ruined, so it doesn't matter!" 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚

"Heh, you've got guts," the crew-cut man sneered. "But do you really think you can take on all of us by yourself?"

"There are still laws in this country," Yang Qi suddenly spoke up, "but if you choose to disrespect them, then other methods become permissible."

"And who the hell are you, kid? Daring to meddle in our business?" The crew-cut man hadn't paid Yang Qi any mind, figuring he'd just deal with him later. He was surprised the kid had the guts to speak up—a rare sight indeed.

Yang Qi calmly unwrapped a piece of chewing gum and popped it into his mouth. After chewing for a moment, he said coolly, "I'm making this my business today. Are you all going to scram now, or would you rather stay here and die?"

The crew-cut man and his cronies were stunned, as were Bai Chuan and Bai Yumei. He actually dared to provoke this guy? Isn't he courting death?

"Kid, don't be a fool," Bai Chuan whispered to Yang Qi. "That's Flower Bear, a famous hatchet man in Kang City. He's a real killer. When the fighting starts, you need to run."

Yang Qi ignored him and continued to chew his gum. "A bear? You mean these dogs?" he said dismissively. "The only 'Bear' I know in Kang City is Xiong Ba. Who the hell is Flower Bear?"

Flower Bear's face darkened. In his heyday, he was known alongside Xiong Ba as one of the Twin Bears of Kang City. Now, some little brat was looking down on him. He's courting death.

"Kid, I don't care who you are," Flower Bear said coldly, his voice dripping with menace. "Meddle in my business, and you'll leave your life behind. Of course, if you get on your knees and kowtow a few times, I might spare you. I'll just take your tongue." He wasn't a true martial artist, but he had trained in Sanda. A fight was definitely not a problem for him.

PTUI!

Yang Qi suddenly spat out his chewing gum. It flew through the air and struck Flower Bear squarely on the forehead. While it was delivered without much force and caused no real harm, the humiliation was immense.

Flower Bear exploded with rage. "You scum! How dare you! I'll deal with you first!"

He charged at Yang Qi like an actual bear, his massive fist hurtling toward Yang Qi's head. Yang Qi remained seated, only moving at the last possible second. With a light flick of his right hand, a cold glint of light shot out, piercing straight through Flower Bear's fist. Blood sprayed across Flower Bear's own face. He stood stunned for a moment before letting out a pig-like squeal of agony.

In the next instant, Yang Qi had him pinned to the ground with a foot stamped on his head.

"AAARGH!" Flower Bear roared in a mix of fury and pain. "I'll kill you! I'll kill you!" He struggled frantically to get up, but Yang Qi's foot felt like a great cauldron, pressing down so hard he could barely breathe.

"Still resisting?" Yang Qi sneered. From his right hand, two streaks of golden light—his Alchemy Blades—shot out. They pierced both of Flower Bear's arms, pinning them to the ground. Flower Bear grimaced, but he couldn't even scream. His mouth was full of dirt.

"What are you all standing there for? Kill him for me!" Flower Bear managed to roar.

Yang Qi's gaze swept over the other men, his eyes so icy that they were frozen in place, too terrified to move.

"Anyone who takes a step forward dies," he stated calmly.

A shiver ran through everyone present, including Bai Chuan and Bai Yumei.
