Chapter 225: Chapter 225 Gu Master

Liang Ergeng chuckled. "For years, many of the Kang City Business Alliance’s medicines have only passed inspection thanks to him. It would’ve been a huge hassle otherwise. This time, it’s sure to be fine!"

"Hahaha! That’s great! Ergeng, getting you bailed out was the right call! You may not have a talent for martial arts, but you’re cunning and have a lot of connections. This time, we have to make the Qifei Group suffer!" Liang Jin burst out laughing.

「...」

Yang Qi was unaware of the Liang family’s conspiracy. At that moment, he was sitting in his clinic, wondering how he could get in touch with the president of the Elixir Medicine Association. This was a precaution, as he had been worried the Kang City Business Alliance would try to interfere with the medication inspections.

Unexpectedly, Ye Fei had called that morning to report they had caught a mole. This person had met with Liang Ergeng previously. It was unknown what they had discussed, but he might have leaked company secrets.

Fortunately, he was just a regular employee, so there wasn’t much he could have leaked. Still, this development made Yang Qi even more worried. He absolutely had to contact the president of the Elixir Medicine Association.

He had just finished seeing his last patient for the day and was planning to personally visit the home of the Elixir Medicine Association’s president when a woman burst into his clinic.

"Save my son, save my son, please! I beg you, Master!"

Yang Qi was about to refuse, but he couldn’t bear to see how distraught she was. He simply nodded and followed the woman out of the clinic.

He got into the woman’s car, and they headed to her home. On the way, she tried to explain the situation. Her words were a jumbled mess, completely incoherent from anxiety, but Yang Qi managed to piece some things together. Her child had suddenly begun acting as if he were possessed.

"Don’t worry, I’ll help you. Just try to stay calm."

The car stopped in front of a townhouse. Yang Qi was stunned. "Is your husband Yao Ran, the president of the Elixir Medicine Association?"

"Yes, he is. Divine Doctor, you know him?" the woman asked.

"Heh, what a coincidence," Yang Qi chuckled. He had only come along out of compassion, not expecting to end up at Yao Ran’s home.

The two of them entered the house. In a bedroom on the second floor, a boy of about seven or eight lay unconscious on the bed. A middle-aged man stood beside him, his expression awful. He clutched the child’s hand, his face etched with worry, pain, and distress. Another person, who appeared to be a doctor based on his attire, stood nearby.

The moment Yang Qi stepped into the room, he saw swirling black air. The dense Yin Evil Qi was deeply unsettling.

"Honey, I’ve brought the Divine Doctor!" Madam Yao said. "This is Divine Doctor Yang. He’s become very famous recently for curing all sorts of difficult and unusual illnesses!"

Yao Ran glanced at Yang Qi, his expression skeptical. "Even Master Chen Guo couldn’t cure this illness. What’s the use of bringing a kid like him here!"

Yang Qi chuckled. "Every expert has their specialty. Master Chen may be skilled, but in certain areas, he truly can’t compare to me. Since I’m already here, what’s the harm in letting me take a look?"

Yao Ran frowned, but he nodded anyway. "Alright." His son was in so much pain; he was willing to try anything to alleviate his suffering.

Yang Qi walked over to the bed. Looking at the child, he sighed. "This child’s symptoms must have been present for some time. You’re lucky you found me when you did. Otherwise, he never would have woken up!"

Yang Qi shook his head. The poor child was as skinny as a rake, his body shrouded in an aura of death. If any more time had passed, he would have surely died.

"Hmph. Mystical nonsense. You haven’t even examined him, yet you’re making such bold claims. You’re nothing but a charlatan!" the doctor in the white coat sneered. He wore glasses and had a refined look, but his words were sharp.

Yang Qi ignored him and turned to Yao Ran. "Time is of the essence, so I’ll be blunt. Your child isn’t sick. He has been harmed. Moreover, the one who harmed him is someone who is in frequent contact with him!"

"What nonsense! Are you trying to frame me?" the doctor suddenly roared. "President Yao, you be the judge! If it weren’t for my dedicated care, would this child have even survived this long?"

"I didn’t say it was you. Why are you so defensive?" A hint of sarcasm flashed in Yang Qi’s eyes. "We’ll find out soon enough if you’re the culprit."

With that, Yang Qi suddenly flicked his hand, summoning the Nine Dragons Divine Needle. The needles shot out, piercing the child’s acupoints.

A piercing shriek echoed, and a black liquid began to ooze from where the Silver Needles were inserted.

Yao Ran had been about to scold Yang Qi for his recklessness, but he snapped his mouth shut upon seeing this. Even Master Chen Guo didn’t possess such skill with the Silver Needle.

"Well, since the child is alright, I should be going. I haven’t rested in days," the doctor said with a smile.

"Of course, Doctor Bai. Thank you so much for everything," Yao Ran and Madam Yao replied, filled with gratitude.

"You’re being duped and still thanking the swindler," Yang Qi said coldly. "He’s not going anywhere."

"What do you mean?" Yao Ran and Madam Yao were both stunned.

"From the moment I entered this room, I’ve felt an indescribable malevolent aura from him. He is the one who harmed your child!" Yang Qi stated coldly. "I don’t care what grudge you hold against this family, but attacking an innocent child is despicable. So, tell us. What is this all about? What is the source of your hatred?"

Doctor Bai smiled. "I don’t know what you’re talking about. Though your medical skills are impressive, that doesn’t give you the right to spout nonsense." Despite his words, his hand subconsciously slid into his pocket.

"Divine Doctor, are you mistaken?" Yao Ran asked. "Doctor Bai has been devoted to caring for our child, unwaveringly!"

Yang Qi shook his head. "That was just a facade. Think carefully. Didn’t your son’s condition only get worse after he started ’caring’ for him? He’s no ordinary doctor. He’s far more than he appears."

Yao Ran and Madam Yao thought back and realized it seemed to be true. Still, they couldn’t believe it. Doctor Bai was such a kind person; how could he do something like this?

Yang Qi knew that words alone were useless. He suddenly lunged with his palm toward Doctor Bai.

The next moment, Doctor Bai counterattacked. His right hand shot out from his pocket, releasing two streams of black energy toward Yang Qi, but they were blocked by a burst of flame from Yang Qi’s palm. Looking closer, one could see they were two black insects.

"So it is the Gu Technique from the Southern Border," Yang Qi said coldly. "This is the first time I’ve seen a living Gu Master."

Yao Ran and Madam Yao were terrified. The scene playing out before them was like something from a movie. They initially had their doubts about Yang Qi’s words, but now they believed him completely.

"They deserve to die! They all deserve to die!" Doctor Bai suddenly roared. "Yao Ran, you remember, don’t you? Eight years ago, our wives were pregnant at the same time! They both had complications during childbirth! But because you were the vice president of the Elixir Medicine Association, those damn doctors chose to save your wife and ignore mine! In the end, my wife and my child died tragically on that delivery table!"
