My Goalkeeping System-Chapter 278 Great Day!
Emma was still busy working on her laptop in the living room when she heard someone knock on the door.
She didn't respond immediately and typed a few more words before she got up and made her way to the door which she opened to find Dave standing there.
"You're back." She said, sounding a bit surprised. "That was fast."
"Yeah, there was no reason to take time." He said before walking into the house.
As soon as he was inside the house, Emma slowly closed the door before turning his gaze to her.
"So, what did they need you for?" She asked.
"He wasn't exactly the one who wanted to see me." The goalkeeper said as he made his way to the couch.
"Then who was it then?" She asked as she slowly followed him to the couch. "Your father?"
"No, it wasn't him." He replied.
"Then, who was it?"
"The media team." He said.
"The media team
"The media team? Why?"
"Well, they want to do this some kind of show where we get asked questions related to Bilbeth and the club, it's for publicity and a source of revenue you know." The goalkeeper explained.
"Of course I know, I'm a sports journalist have you forgotten?" Her voice sounded a bit fierce but there was nothing else to it.
"Oh, yeah." He said before placing his right hand on the back of his head with a nervous smile on his face.
Emma had a few other things to ask him, so she let out a sigh before continuing.
"You said 'we,' so who are the rest?" She asked.
"I am one of three players, they picked the three most popular players in the team currently." He said.
"I guess you're one of them since you got picked, who are the other two?" She asked.
"Isn't it obvious?" The goalkeeper asked.
"Okay, fine, I know Mateo is on the list." She said before rolling her eyes. "Who's the last person?"
"You're right, Mateo's there and the last person is Merino." He said.
"I was expecting to hear someone like Ferran, but I guess he's quite popular too," Emma said.
"Yeah, his recent performances on the pitch have gained him some attention and popularity."
"Yeah, I guess you have something fun to do tomorrow. " She said before turning her gaze back to her laptop's screen.
"Yeah, I guess," Dave said before getting up from the couch. "I can see that you're still busy, so I'll leave you alone."
He was about to start heading toward the staircase when he was suddenly pulled down by her.
"No, stay, let's talk more, I'm almost done, adding a few touches is all that's left." She said.
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah." She said before she quickly closed up her laptop and turned her gaze to him.
"Okay, so what do you want to talk about?" He asked.
"Umm…."
She was about to say something but suddenly paused before quickly getting up from the couch.
"I need to go remove this skimpy skirt." She said before pulling the skirt down. "I'll be back down soon, I just need to change into something more comfortable for lying down."
"Okay," Dave said as he watched her make her way upstairs.
<Now, you're the one stuck down here>
'Keep quiet, she'll be down soon.' The goalkeeper replied subconsciously before relaxing his head on the couch.
The two spent quite a nice time together and since none of them had the strength to cook, they decided to order something for dinner.
"So, what are we going to order, I mean something that you would like to eat?"
"You want to eat what I want to eat?" Dave said with a surprised expression on his face. "Are you sure you don't want cake and candies?"
"Cake and candies?" She pouted. "Don't talk to me like I'm a four-year-old."
"Okay, fine, how about pizza?"
<She asked you what you wanted for dinner and now you've reversed the question to her, how considerate>
"Pizza?" She said with a confused expression on her face. "I thought you were on a diet?"
"Yeah, but it's been three months since I started that, I just want to take a little break today and try some pizza."
<I hope it's just as you put it>
'Don't worry, Cat, I wasn't even used to consuming too much junk food before that quest.'
"Okay, then pizza it is." She said,
"Yeah."
After eating dinner and spending some more time together, the two went to bed together and as always, Emma was the first to fall asleep.
The time being displayed on the wall clock downstairs was 9:45 PM as Dave was lying on the bed awake and staring at the ceiling.
'You know, today was great, Cat.' He said subconsciously. 'I finally found a way to make focus useful in a match and I got to spend a nice time without her lashing out at me, which rarely happens these days.'
<That's because she's slowly starting to adapt to the way her body's changing>
'Yeah, that's it.'
<And you're starting to be less annoying toward her>
'Maybe, but nothing's going to stop me from teasing her whenever I want to.'
<Suit yourself>
There was a little moment of silence in the goalkeeper's mind.
He stared at the ceiling for about five minutes before something was able to come to his mind.
'So, Catherine.'
<Yeah>
'Let's say my soon-to-be-born child is a boy even though I want it to be a girl and he chooses to become a midfielder or maybe a striker in the future, will he get the system?'
<The system is only meant for goalkeepers if other players could get it then….>
'Then what?'
<Never mind, I'm just saying that the system is only meant for goalkeepers, that was the position it was built for as you can testify, it's clearly called the goalkeeping system>
'So, if he chooses to become a goalkeeper just like me, will he acquire the system after I must have retired?'
<I am not exactly sure of that, but most likely he will>
'Okay, and what if I have a daughter who wants to be a goalkeeper, will she get the system?' f𝓇𝘦ℯ𝙬𝑒𝐛n𝐨νe𝙡.c𝑜𝗺
<The system was made for males but that isn't entirely out of the question>
'So, it's possible then.'
<Yeah, but the chances are very minimal>
'Okay, I just wanted to know.'
[ Dream control: inactive ]
'I want to activate dream control tonight but I don't want to continue the reflex training.'
<You mean you're giving up the training?>
'No, that's not what I meant?'
<Then what?>
'I just want to try out a match and get the feeling of how it could turn out.' He said subconsciously. 'Of course, it won't feel real unless someone makes the players play the way that they are supposed to play.'
<Okay, but what match are you talking about?>
'Unique FC Vs Dynamo FC.'
<The upcoming match>
'Yeah.'
[ Dream control: Activated ]
'I just want to get the feeling of how things could turn out, they have a strong team after all.'
