My Goalkeeping System-Chapter 262 The Consequences Of Annoying Catherine

When Catherine said that she was going to take over his phone and get him in trouble with it, she wasn't kidding at all.

She had opened his WhatsApp and was typing a horrendous message that she was going to send to Emma once she was done and that message was going to get Dave in trouble and it wasn't going to be a small one.

Dave reached for his phone and tried to clear what she was typing and exit the app but nothing was working, the screen wasn't responding to his touch.

<It's pointless, I've turned off your touch screen features, so you can't access your phone anymore>

Things were starting to get out of hand here and the goalkeeper had to park his car by the roadside as he watched what Catherine was typing.

It was a pretty long text, talking about him getting involved in a serious accident and telling her to quickly rush to the hospital because he was in a critical condition.

That text was bad in a lot of ways and could go wrong in a lot of ways.

Firstly, it wasn't good to break that sort of news to someone like Emma who's pregnant in that manner won't do any good for her, she'll probably collapse out of shock, and given that it never happened, it's just not worth it.

Secondly, she'll have to leave work and rush to the hospital only to find out that nothing happened, she wouldn't feel good about that, a few of her colleagues may find out and it's not going to leave a good test in their mouth about the goalkeeper, 'What type of man pranks his wife like that?' That's going to be their main reaction and Emma might as well go ahead to torture him tonight when she gets home.

There were still a lot of ways that this could go wrong but those two were the main ones.

The only way Dave could save himself was to either get involved in an accident and get rushed to the hospital just like the text or stop Catherine from pushing that send button but he was too late as she had already pushed the button.

"Catherine, no, please don't do that, this won't end well for anybody." The goalkeeper said before quickly grabbing his phone.

He tried to unsend the message but just like earlier when he tried, his screen was still unresponsive.

<Anybody besides me>

"Fine, I admit it, you're not like the google assistant, you are way better now please unsend that message before she sees it." He pleaded as he prayed in his mind for the double tick not to turn blue.

Even after saying all that, there was no response from Catherine.

"Catherine, please!"

<Oh, fine> ƒr𝙚𝙚𝘸e𝚋𝐧૦ѵ𝒆𝒍.𝒄𝒐m

As soon as she said that, the delete option for the message appeared and she chose to delete it for everyone.

"Thank you." The goalkeeper breathed a sigh of relief before crashing down in the seat of his car.

Emma was typing something when Dave's message came but she didn't rush to check it immediately as she wanted to reach a certain point first, and when she reached the point, she quickly reached for her phone to check the message.

'The message was deleted?' She said subconsciously with a confused expression on her face. 'Why would he send me a message and quickly unsend it? Must have been a mistake.'

With just that little thinking, she slowly put her phone down and continued what she was doing.

Meanwhile, back at the spot where Dave parked, the goalkeeper was still slumped in the seat of his car still thinking about how things could have taken a dark turn today.

<None of this could have happened if you had refrained from comparing me to the google assistant when I told you to> 𝘧𝓇𝗲𝑒we𝙗noѵ𝑒l.𝐜o𝘮

'I can't believe you would have seriously turned my day upside down like that just for comparing you to google assistant, you knew I was just joking.'

<No, I didn't>

'You're evil, Catherine, I just hope you don't try to take over my body one day.'

<That is possible>

'Huh?'

<But it's not in my interest to do that as it will go against the context of why I am here and with you>

'You can seriously take over my body?' The goalkeeper said subconsciously as he felt a shiver run down his spine before he swallowed hard.

<Of course, I'm directly connected to your subconscious so it's nothing to be surprised about and it's also nothing to be scared about because I'm never going to try it unless it's necessary that is>

'And by necessary you mean when I refuse to do something that you told me to do, technically going against your orders.'

<No, Dave, don't start reading me wrong because of what just happened, I will not restrict your movement or stop you from doing whatever you want to do, you are an adult and you know what's best for you, the only thing I can do is try to talk you out of doing stupid things. I am only here to guide your career not dictate it>

'If you're really this generous then why did you just try to get me in trouble?'

<I don't like it when someone compares me to other artificial intelligence but Emma was never going to see that message>

'What do you mean?'

<The message was going to delete by itself once she opened it but it won't reflect on your side so you'll still be worried, I was planning to drag the show on for a longer period of time but you apologized earlier than I expected>

'So, all that was just for nothing, you were playing with me all this while?' He couldn't believe it.

<Yeah, I would never send something like that to your wife, shocks lead to miscarriages, and losing the child she's carrying won't be a good thing for the next generation>

"Catherine." The goalkeeper mumbled as he gritted his teeth.

<You can access your phone now>

'Where's that feature to turn you off, I want to use it now?' He said subconsciously as he quickly searched through the tabs in his system but he wasn't able to find anything.

<Oh, you're seriously looking for an option to turn me off>

'Yeah, where is it?'

<There is no option to turn me off, you can't turn me off>

'But you told me that there was an option to turn you off.'

<No, there isn't, I only told you that to make you feel better that day>

Catherine had mentioned a lot of times that she was unable to produce laughter sounds, and that seemed to be through given that he had never heard her laugh before, but the goalkeeper could swear that he could hear her giggling like a little child in his head.

'That was a lie too, huh? Isn't there any other way to turn you off?'

<I'm sorry, I'm stuck with you>

There was nothing the goalkeeper could do about it, he just let out a deep sigh before he sat up in his seat and started the car engine.

"All these headaches for just comparing you to the google voice assistant." He mumbled in a depressed voice before he continued his drive home.
