My Goalkeeping System-Chapter 251 Conjoined Quest
"Alright, you two, I'm going to head to bed now," Martha said before getting up from the couch where he was sitting together with Dave and Emma.
"Alright, then, goodnight," Dave said.
"Good night, mum," Emma said before resting her head on Dave's thighs.
"You know you have to go to work tomorrow so don't stay up late, Emma."
"Come on, mum, I'm not a little girl anymore." She said before turning her gaze to her mother.
"Yeah, to others you're not a little girl anymore but you'll always be my little girl," Martha said as she made her way toward the staircase. "So, don't stay up too late."
Dave waited until she was off the staircase before he turned his gaze to his wife.
"My little girl." He said with a little chuckle.
"Just, don't." She said with a grumpy voice.
<You better listen>
She ended up falling asleep on his thighs twenty minutes later so he had to carry her upstairs.
After dropping her on the bed, he brought out his phone from his pocket to see that the time was 9:03 PM.
'This isn't late.' He said subconsciously before lying down beside her and covering both of their bodies with the blanket on the bed.
'Um…Catherine.'
<Yeah>
'I think, I'm going to pass on tonight's training.'

<That's okay, one second is going to take you a while to master anyway, so it's best you take it slowly>
'Alright, then, good night.'
<Good night>

With Martha in the house, Dave had a lot more time to do everything he had to do in the morning.
He was able to stretch his running distance to ten kilometers that morning.

"It's sort of hard to get exp without my daily quests but I'm glad that I'm still improving nevertheless." The goalkeeper muttered as he jogged back home.
'I can't wait for the match to start. Supreme United are already at the top of the table after beating Spree City five goals to one. I knew they were going to beat Spree City but I didn't think they were going to score five against them.'
<That's how football is, what you expect is not what you get most of the time. Do you think you guys can beat Frono?"
'It's going to be a tough match, I know that bit, but I know we can do it.'
The goalkeeper got home, sat down to a nice breakfast, and by noon, he made his way to the stadium where he met up with his teammates and coach.
The match was set to kick off by 3:00 PM so they were all expected to be at Frono by 1:30 PM at least.
They arrived at the airport with the team's bus and before 12:30, they were already on their way to Frono in the team's plane.
Just like he did during almost every away where they would travel by air, Mateo pulled closer to Dave and raised his phone to take a picture of them together so that he could make a post with it on his Instagram.
'First league match of the season. Destination, Frono, Da Best, Frono.' The winger wrote before clicking the post button.
? "So, Emma's going to be at Frono, right?" The winger asked after turning his gaze back to Dave.
"Um…no," Dave said as he shook his head.
"Huh? Why's that?" Mateo asked.
"She said she had other things to deal with but someone else in her department will take her place as the reporter in the match." The goalkeeper explained.
"Okay," He said before turning his gaze back to his phone.
It took about fifty minutes for them to get to Frono and right there at the airport, their ride was already waiting for them.
They got to Frono Da Best stadium by 1:22 PM, there were a lot of fans there and they were really happy to see them.
The players were shown to the locker room and now all they had to do was change into their training outfits and make their way to the pitch.
The stadium was already half-filled with fans from both teams with Frono FC players training on one side of the pitch when they got there.
"This place sure feels lively from the last time we were here," Dave said after looking around the area.
"I guess most of the fans didn't come to watch that game because they thought we were going to lose, there's a lot more of them here already compared to last time," Mateo said.
"Most of them believe in us now," Dave said with a bright smile on his face.
"You got that right, and we're going to make sure that we don't let them down.
"Things could go your way, but it's going to be really tough."
The three quickly turned to see Darwin Shaw standing there while Seth was making his way to them from the tunnel.
"It's not going to be as easy as last time." The striker said.
<This guy still hasn't learned his lesson, I guess arrogance can't just be shaken off>
'I don't think his words seem arrogant in particular, at least that's how I see it.'
"Oh, hey, Darwin," Mateo said.
"Hey, Mateo," Seth said after pulling up beside Darwin.
The Frono FC winger always gets excited every time he sees Mateo.
"Seth." Mateo smiled.
"I saw what you guys did against Supreme United, it was shocking to see you guys hold them down like that," Seth said. "You guys did a great job." 𝑓𝓇𝑒𝑒𝚠e𝘣𝓷𝘰ѵe𝑙.com
"Yeah, that was a great performance but can you guys replicate it in the league? Do you know that there's a team that did superbly well in all their pre-season matches last season but now they're back to division two after ending last season at the very bottom of the table? Yeah, it's Olona FC." Darwin articulated.
"And what are you trying to say?" Minino asked with a grim expression on his face.
"Nothing, I was just trying to remind you guys of what happened last season." The striker said.
<I told you he had arrogant intentions>
'I know and I'm going to put him in his place right now.'
"Yeah, Darwin, but you seem to have forgotten the most important part of everything." The goalkeeper said.
"And what is that?"
"Olona FC started out well last season, they destroyed Lave City in their first match of the season six goals to nothing." The goalkeeper said with a poker face.
He understood Darwin's mockery quite well and used it against him perfectly.
"We'll see about that," Darwin said before he began to make his way to his teammates who were already warming up on the pitch.
Minino didn't even wait for him to go out of earshot before he let out the laughter he was holding in.
"Wow, Dave, I didn't know you had things like this in you." The midfielder said.
<That was nicely done>
"I think you should tell him that mind games like that don't work on us anymore," Mateo said to Seth.

'Conjoined quests? Nice.'
<You wouldn't be saying that if you knew how it worked>
'How does it work then?'
<If you fail one quest, the other quests become invalid and you don't get any reward>
'That is so not cool.'
