"I don't care what anyone thinks, I know Unique FC are for the title race this season, their team has been completely refined and best of all, Dave Richards is now a formidable rock covering the goalpost every time he steps on the middle of the line."

Dave was watching the sports segment with a smile on his face but he was also feeling a bit uneasy.

"I just hope we can meet your expectations, it will be cruel to disappoint after putting so much faith in us." He muttered.

He brought his phone up to his view to see that the time was 7:00 PM.

'She's supposed to be back by now.'

Just as that thought left her mind, he heard three knocks come from the door.

He slowly got up from the couch and made his way to the door and after getting there, he opened the door to find Emma standing there.

"Hey." She said with a smile on her face.

"Hey," Dave said.

She tried taking a step forward but she happened to have misplaced her foot in the process and almost crashed to the floor in the process, but Dave was there to catch her before that happened.

"Hey, take it easy." He said. 𝒇𝑟𝐞𝐞w𝐞𝑏𝙣𝑜vℯl.co𝑚

"What is wrong with me? The feeling was there last week but it wasn't this intense." She said,

"What are you talking about?" Dave asked.

"Remember when I told you I was feeling nauseous and a bit tired when I wasn't supposed to be?" She said before getting up on her feet.

"Yeah." He replied with a nod.

"Well, this was what I was talking about, it was really embarrassing dozing off every minute and having Matthew wake me up all day." She expressed.

She was about to start making her way toward the stairs when she felt a strong wave of nausea sweep through her body, she quickly made her way out of the house and fell on her knees before letting out everything the nauseous feeling had stirred up from her stomach.

"It's okay," Dave said as he slowly rubbed her back.

'She's clearly not okay.'

<I guess I was right after all>

'I wouldn't have let her leave for work if I knew that it was like this.'

After letting out everything the nauseous feeling had stirred up, she cleaned her mouth with the back of her hands before she was slowly helped up by Dave who took her inside and straight to the couch.

"You're definitely down with some kind of illness but I hope it isn't the flu-like last time." He said.

Emma stared at him for a while before slowly sitting up on the couch.

"Hey, what are you doing? Don't try to get up." The goalkeeper said.

"Don't worry, I just feel nauseous and tired, it's not like I'm completely overwhelmed by fever or anything, I don't need to be lying around in one place." She said before getting up from the couch.

"Okay, just be careful so that you don't fall on the stairs."

"Don't worry, I won't." She said before she began to make her way toward the staircase.

'I should go make sure she doesn't fall on the staircase, I won't be able to forgive myself if that happens.'

Just as he took a step forward, she slowly turned her gaze to him.

"Hey, Dave, is there anything that I can eat now, I'm hungry?" She asked.

"Um...not really." He said, shaking his head.

"Oh, so you were waiting for me to get home and do it myself."

The tone of her voice suddenly went from soft to cranky, something that took Dave by surprise.

"It hadn't been long since I got back, you always do it yourself after getting back from work so I thought you would do it this time too." He said.

"Do it this time, in my condition? I thought you were a caring man."

"Fine, I'll just order something then." The goalkeeper said before picking up his phone from where it was sitting beside him.

<I haven't seen her like this before>

'Me too, I just hope she didn't get into an argument with someone at her workplace.'

"You better do." She said before she began to make her way upstairs.

He followed her with his eyes until she got to the other floor.

The night was quite hectic for the goalkeeper up until the point where she ate the food he ordered and then fell asleep later in his arms.

"I'm sorry." She mumbled before slowly closing her eyes.

"It's okay." He said before placing his hand on her head.

The two stayed like that for a while until he began to feel sleepy and decided to carry her upstairs.

He carried her upstairs and dropped her on the bed slowly before changing into more comfortable clothes for sleeping.

After that, he slowly made his way to the bed and lay down beside her.

He stayed at the ceiling for a while before turning his gaze to her, her breathing was so peaceful unlike what she had shown him tonight.

"I just hope whatever that's bothering you goes away tomorrow." He muttered.

<Trust me, it will most likely get worse tomorrow>

'What are you talking about?'

<Looks like the seed is finally starting to grow>

'What are you talking about, Catherine?'

<If you had taken Biology seriously you would know by now>

'Biology?'

<Yeah>

'So you know what's wrong with her.'

<Yeah, but don't think I'm going to spare you the research or thinking, you'll have to find things out on your own, I think she has an idea of what's going on with her body, she just wants to be sure it's really it>

'You know you shouldn't have said anything about it if you're not ready to explain.'

<Maybe, but now you know where to start looking thanks to me>

"Where to start looking." The goalkeeper muttered.

He turned his gaze to the ceiling and kept his gaze there for a while before certain thoughts began to run through his mind.

'Tiredness which results in her dozing off most of the time, nausea leading to her vomiting, she's already done that twice tonight, and then she was way too cranky for her level tonight.' He thought. 'Those are symptoms, right?'

<I'm not helping you out>

'Of course, they're symptoms, they're clearly symptoms.'

He ran through a lot of other things in his mind before he picked up his phone.

He slowly typed what he had managed to scramble from his mind and just before clicking the search button, he turned his gaze to his wife.

"Are you sure it's not anything bad, Catherine?'

<No, it's nothing bad>

'Okay.' He said subconsciously before clicking the search button.

The google search bar quickly loaded and in the next second, he had his answer right in front of him.

After reading the contents of the first result, a shocked expression appeared on his face.

<You see, it's quite the opposite>
