My Goalkeeping System-Chapter 203 Very Much Sealed
The second half was about to kick off now and just like Norman said, Dave was on the bench now and Alexander was standing between the sticks.
"Norman has decided to give Alexander a chance and it looks like it was the only change he made," Jim said.
"This would have been a great change if they had been able to get a strong grip on the game in the first half but I guess he just wants to give the youngster a chance to participate, he didn't do that bad when he started against Benfica, so Unique FC may still be able to hold on to the lead." Steve articulated.
"I guess my job in this match is done." The goalkeeper said before taking his seat beside Mateo.
"You did great, now it's Alexander's time to show us what he can do," Mateo said.
"Did great? I didn't even get to do anything, the closest they got to testing was from that goal which doesn't count at all because it was offside." The goalkeeper said.
"I think it sounds better to say that we're defending pretty well which is a good thing, I've never seen our team maintain such stable defense for so long, they haven't been able to fire a single shot at our goalpost." The winger expressed.
"Yeah, the defense has been pretty solid, I just hope they can maintain that defense in this half and secure the win," Dave said before turning his gaze back to the pitch where the match had already kicked off.
'I'm just glad I got to play in the first half and keep my quest intact. '
<Yeah, just hope that he doesn't ditch you on any of the match days remaining like he is about to do to some of the players sitting on the bench now, but I doubt they'll be upset about it, this match is pretty boring>
'Don't worry, I have a plan to make sure that doesn't happen and for the match being boring, you're right.'
He paused for a while to observe the movements on the pitch.
'Yeah, you're right. '
It didn't take long before Unique FC dispossessed them off the ball after the kick-off and the Bilbeth Premier League side were still with the ball closing up on their box with their smooth string of passes while looking for the slightest defensive leaks.
Minino received the ball from Frankie and just before the player aggressively chasing the ball could get to him, he passed the ball to Henry.
Henry got to the ball before it could get to him and with a single touch, he sent the ball flying to Fredinho.
Fredinho got a neat touch on the ball and quickly turned with it to move the player marking him out for a while, and during that time that the player was out of the way, he sent the ball flying into the box.
"He's sent it into the box," Jim commented.
The ball was quickly cleared by one of the defenders in the box but it was sent toward Henry who quickly cut past the player heading toward him before he pulled his right leg back and sent the ball flying toward the goalpost.
"Henry!"
Unfortunately, the ball ended up hitting the right side of the crossbar before flying off for a goal-kick, the goalkeeper had dived toward it but it was no use as he wouldn't have gotten his hand to it if the ball's elevation had been a bit lower, the ball would have ended up hitting the back of the net with great force.
"Oh, that was so close," Jim said
"Really close."
The match had entered the seventieth minute now and the scoreboard was still showing Unique FC one, Young Boys nil.
Ferran had come on to replace Henry now and Frankie had been swapped out for Harry Norman, Jonas had to make way for Roland too but there was no change in the attack which was the main area where the fans expected Norman to pull out players but for some reason, he just wanted to leave them there.
The match had gone this far and Young Boys still had not been able to get a single shot on target although they had managed to fire two shots at their opponent's goalpost.
The first shot was from about thirty yards out and added up flying over the bar but it ended up flying over the bar but it was really close to hitting the crossbar.
The second one came from a shot from the right winger after wriggling his way past Roland but the ball ended up hitting the post and the rebound was quickly cleared by Pirlo.
Unique five had also gotten their chances, three chances that were saved by the goalkeeper and one which was sent flying wide.
The first chance was a wonderful volley from Fredinho after receiving a cross from Minino. 𝑓𝓇𝑒𝑒𝚠e𝘣𝓷𝘰ѵe𝑙.com
The ball was sent flying toward the top right hand of the goalpost with the volley but the goalkeeper was quick enough to dive toward the ball and tip it over the bar with the tip of his gloves.
"Oh, that was so close," Jim commented. "It looks like Fredinho is starting to get his shooting boots straight from that wing.
The second chance came from the corner kick was sent flying in by Frankie, Fredinho managed to get his head to it and sent it low toward the right side, but the goalkeeper was right there to fumble it.
The third chance came from a counter-attack and Minino really should have scored there, but the ball ended up hitting the goalkeeper's legs which he had stretched out right on time, and the rebound from the block was quickly cleared by the center-back there.
"Oh, that should have been in the back of the net," Jim said.
"I have to say, Freya is really turning up clutch to make sure their opponents don't go two goals up in this second half," Steve said.
The chance which had been blasted over the bar came from Ferran, it would have been great if he had worked on his elevation a little.
Right now, Unique FC were still with the ball and pushing forward, they wanted a second goal, and now they were starting to press high, something they don't do quite often.
Ferran raced down the middle with the ball and just before he could get to the players waiting to stop him, he sent the ball flying to Minino.
Minino stopped the ball with his chest and used the momentum of the ball falling down from his chest to quickly get past the left back in his way and once he was in the box, he sent the ball to Fredinho who was closing up toward him.
"This doesn't look good for Young Boys," Jim commented.
All Fredinho needed to get on the ball was a single touch to send it rolling toward the bottom right side.
The goalkeeper seemed confused and wasn't even able to dive toward the ball as it rolled past the line and toward the net.
"It's in! They've finally gotten the second!" Jim exclaimed.
Minino quickly rushed toward Minino and the two met right in front of the goalpost with a hug while their teammates clapped along with the fans.
"What a calm finish from the Brazilian, he has been looking for that goal since the start of this half, and he's finally found it," Steve said. "The match is very much sealed now."
'I told you you were in for more surprises, Cat.'
<That was a nice goal but this match isn't pushing you guys in any way, if Norman uses this squad against strong teams, he'll lose>
'I'm pretty sure he knows that, but it is still nice to see players contribute to the team's victory while playing off position.'
<They are the main reason for the victory>
