My Fusion System: Fusing Weak Soldiers with Direwolves at the Start-Chapter 31: Colossal Uru
Chapter 31: Colossal Uru
"System, fuse ten sheep."
[5 FP deducted.]
Ten sheep grazing at the edge of the herd jerked suddenly, flung toward each other by an invisible force. Blue flames, soft as a breeze yet brimming with unseen power, engulfed them in a swirl of light. The other sheep bleated and shifted, but the flames remained harmless, a controlled transformation.
Within seconds, where ten ordinary Bighorns once stood, a single creature now pawed at the grass. Roughly four feet tall, it had thicker, more spiraled horns that gleamed faintly like polished bronze. Along its back were stubby, diamond-shaped bone protrusions running down its spine, like natural armor forming rows. Its presence was calm but sturdier than its kin.
[You have successfully created the Mountain Uru, a rare sheep species that produces better-tasting milk and twice as much wool as a normal sheep.]
Kaelor narrowed his eyes. It was impressive, but not enough. Not yet.
"System... fuse one hundred."

This time, the power crackled like thunder in the distance. A massive gust swept across the hill as a hundred sheep were lifted, then hurled toward a central point, merging into a vortex of white wool, black hooves, and azure flame. The fire swelled, a bonfire bright enough to turn heads and hush even the noisiest lamb.
When the flames vanished, what stood before them was a beast of legend.
A colossus. Towering at six feet at the shoulder, it stood with majestic calm. Its hooves were obsidian black, so smooth and heavy they left faint cracks in the earth with each step. Two great horns curved outward and upward from its head, massive enough to resemble the blades of a war axe.
But what truly captured their attention, was the gem.
Embedded in its forehead, nestled between the horns, was a shimmering teardrop-shaped gem, pale azure in hue. Beneath its surface, tiny runes glided like fish in a crystal lake, a mystery sealed in glass. A subtle glow pulsed from the stone, as if it had a heartbeat of its own.
Vi stepped forward, lips parting in awe. "That... that’s a Focus Crystal..."
At the same time, Kaelor received his notification.
[You have successfully created a Colossal Uru.]
[A species long thought extinct due to their ability to generate Focus Crystals from their foreheads. Colossal Urus produce five times the wool and milk of a Mountain Uru. Consumption of their milk or flesh increases vitality and heightens awareness toward mana.]
Kaelor’s heart thundered in his chest.
This was no ordinary livestock.
This was a game-changer.
A source of nourishment, trade, and magic. The key to recruiting Acranists, empowering soldiers, and perhaps even expanding one’s magical perception.
He looked up at the massive sheep, its gentle eyes meeting his with quiet dignity. Behind it, the herd watched, now less fearful, as if recognizing it as one of their own.
"Whatever gift you have... it’s monstrous," Vi breathed, her voice filled with awe as her eyes remained fixed on the massive sheep before them. "If I’m not mistaken, that is a Colossal Uru, a magical beast thought extinct for over a thousand years. They vanished with the fall of the empire."
Her angelic face, always composed, was now lit with astonishment. "Apart from these beasts, the only way Focus Crystals can be obtained is by scouring the deepest parts of the oceans and sacred lakes. And even then, they’re rare. Hundreds, maybe thousands, of gold coins are growing on the head of that sheep."
She gasped softly, unable to process the absurd truth of what she was seeing.
"System," Kaelor said calmly, "give me 100 Mountain Urus... and nine more Colossal Urus."
[950 FP deducted.]
The flames erupted like a storm of miracles. The grassy plains were lit with blue fire, swallowing sheep by the hundreds. From one thousand Bighorns, one hundred Mountain Urus emerged, broader, stronger, with a more majestic air. Another thousand merged into nine new Colossal Urus, each one towering, each one bearing that same mystical gemstone upon their foreheads.
Only around five hundred normal Bighorn sheep remained.
And yet, the field was silent, not from fear, but from reverence. Even the mighty Colossal Urus lowered their heads before Kan and Lan.
Kaelor stood in stunned silence.
A peaceful man, a humble shepherd who despised bloodshed... now stood as the unquestioned lord of a herd that could flatten a small city.
And he was Kaelor’s loyal vassal.
Vi was frozen, lips parted slightly, her chest rising and falling as if she were struggling to breathe. "Are you..." she blinked, "Are you the same Kaelor Dravion? The drunkard whose name echoed even in the taverns of Winter?" ƒrēenovelkiss.com
Kaelor coughed, rubbing the back of his neck with an awkward grin. "Let the past stay buried," he muttered.
The memories of the old Kaelor’s escapades, brothels, debts, disgrace, made his stomach twist. If those lines he once drunkenly spat at women were ever repeated, he might curl up and die from the cringe.
Suddenly, a soft rustle. He looked down, and there it was again.
The lamb.
The same curious, persistent little creature stared up at him once more, its round eyes wide and innocent.
Kaelor followed its gaze, one of the Colossal Urus, a titan of wool and horn, had turned its head protectively. That was its mother.
He scooped the lamb and gently tossed it back. It landed on its feet with a surprised bleat and ran straight into its mother’s legs.
"Remind me to build a fence around Bighorn Field," Kaelor muttered.
"Yes, My Lord," Hound replied, already moving to begin surveying the terrain.
With the herd pacified and the Colossal Urus calmly grazing, Vi walked to Kaelor’s side, her tone now curious instead of stunned.
"I never thought I’d find a man with a gift stranger, and possibly stronger, than the Human Emperor’s... here, in the Devil Forest of all places."
Kaelor arched an eyebrow, glancing at her sideways. "Stronger than the Human Emperor? That’s saying a lot."
She gave a soft nod. "You know he’s more than just a name on a coin, right?"
He shrugged. "All I really know is that he unified humanity and founded the Glory Empire."
’The old Kaelor never bothered with books.’
Vi smiled faintly. "Then let me tell you."
She stepped closer, looking into the horizon like she could see the past unfold across the fields.
"He was the first of our kind to fly, without magic. His gift gave him lightning-tendrils in place of wings. He healed hundreds with a gesture. Over time, as his power matured, he could heal thousands. Not even the greatest Acranist has ever achieved such a feat."
She looked at Kaelor now, her eyes shimmering with something more than awe, belief.
"But that wasn’t the most terrifying part," she continued. "When he sat upon his throne, every man and woman within the walls of the capital... was said to become immortal."
Kaelor blinked slowly, his gaze drifting to the Colossal Uru still calmly grazing near the basin’s edge.
"...That’s..." he started, but trailed off. What word could describe it?
He didn’t have one.
But then again, who would’ve believed his gift just a week ago?
