My Five Bigshot Seniors: I am The Most Coddled Junior!-Chapter 70 - 22: Talisman Performance
Although Yi Ao was already on guard, Si Lin’s sword attack was too fast. He could only step half a pace forward with his left foot, attempting to block the attack, but found that the Sword Qi seemed to have eyes, bypassing him and striking towards Yier behind him.
Yier was already fat and hadn’t realized the formidable nature of the other party, hiding behind Yi Ao and feeling sorrowful about the injury on his face, glaring at Gu Qingqing with wide eyes. When Si Lin attacked again, he couldn’t react in time and got an ear cut off directly.
"This is a lesson for him!" Si Lin said coldly, meeting the murderous gazes of Yi Ao and Yier.
Nobody on Gu Qingqing’s side felt any sympathy for Yier’s outcome. Him mocking them for being rustic was nothing, but he should never have mocked Gu Qingqing for being mute. To know that Gu Qingqing couldn’t speak had always been a source of concern for Si Lin and his group, fearing someone might mock Gu Qingqing. Yier mocking Gu Qingqing in front of them was simply courting death!
It was already nearing noon, and Si Lin and his group were still thinking about letting Gu Qingqing eat. After speaking, they didn’t care about Yier and his group’s reaction and turned to leave.
"Stop!" Yi Ao, who was comforting Yier, noticed Si Lin and his group’s actions and immediately shouted to stop them.
Unfortunately, Si Lin and his group didn’t regard them at all, walking straight ahead.
Yi Ao turned his head and waved to the guards who came with him, and a group of guards immediately stepped forward, blocking Si Lin and his group’s path.
Stopping their steps, Si Lin and his group looked at the guards in front of them, their expressions turning cold. Yi Ao had Yier’s servants take care of him and came in front of Si Lin and his group himself.
"You hurt my brother, don’t think you’ll leave today!" After saying that, he waved his hand, and the guards next to him immediately rushed towards Si Lin and his group.
The onlookers and nearby merchants had already retreated far away when Yi Ao’s guards surrounded Si Lin and his group, so they didn’t have to worry about harming innocent people.
"Just you people, dare to stop me?" Rong Ye glanced at the guards rushing over, sneering as he took a step forward, indicating he’d handle the matter.
Si Lin and his group understood his intent and retreated slightly.
"I’ll let you see my talismans." These guards had a cultivation level of around the fourth stage, which might work against ordinary people, but against Rong Ye, he didn’t even need to use the Heavenly Awakening Record.
More than twenty talismans appeared in his right hand, and when the first guard rushed over, he pulled out one of them, "This is the Thunder Bomb Talisman!"
As soon as he finished speaking, the talisman in his hand instantly ignited. Immediately after, a lightning bolt struck the rushing guard directly, causing the guard’s movement to pause, his body twitching before turning charred, foaming at the mouth as he fell to the ground.
The next guard came in front of Rong Ye, and he pulled out another talisman, "This one seems like an Ice Talisman?" he said uncertainly, glancing at the rune on the talisman.
The talisman fell on the guard’s body, instantly disappearing, replaced by the guard being frozen in ice, turning directly into an ice sculpture!
Next, Rong Ye let those beside him witness a talisman show, including the "Tornado Talisman" that blew people into the sky, the "Earth Concealment Talisman" that buried people underground, the "Cold Poison Talisman" that poisoned people, and the "Thunder Bomb Talisman" that exploded...
Yi Ao had brought more than twenty guards, all defeated by Rong Ye’s talismans, each talisman having different functions, making people exclaim in amazement!
"So, how about it? Still planning to make us stay?" Rong Ye asked with a flamboyant smile, looking at Yi Ao’s livid face, while more than ten talismans appeared in his hand.
Glancing at the talismans in Rong Ye’s hand, then at his guards, nearly all of whom were incapacitated, Yi Ao’s face shifted.
He knew he had misjudged this time, hitting a hard wall, but Yier was his full-blooded brother, unlike his half-brothers at home. Just letting these people leave like this, he felt very unwilling!
"From the look of it, you’re still somewhat unwilling," Rong Ye saw Yi Ao’s silence, his smile growing even more pronounced, "Well then, let’s continue!"
With that, he shook the talismans in his hand, his other hand brushing over them, seemingly contemplating which talisman to use.
This obviously threatening gesture made Yi Ao’s face twitch. Though unwilling, he still stepped aside, making way. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦
"If you’d done this earlier, I wouldn’t have wasted so many talismans!" Rong Ye remarked regretfully as he put away the talismans, not forgetting to complain.
Yi Ao nearly spit blood from anger, having no choice but to clench his fists tightly at his sides, watching Gu Qingqing and the others leave.
Seeing no more spectacle to watch, people around quickly dispersed, and the street soon returned to normal, except for Yi Ao’s guards, left in various forms by the talismans in the streets.
When they reached the dining place, Hua Shiyu, who had been wanting to speak, finally did.
"Seeing how Yier looked, the forces behind them shouldn’t be small. Aren’t you afraid of being retaliated against for doing that just now?" Hua Shiyu curiously asked, seeing Si Lin and the others seemingly unaffected.
"Do we look like we’re afraid of their retaliation? Or can they actually retaliate against us?" Having just vented for Gu Qingqing, Rong Ye was in a fairly good mood and, hearing Hua Shiyu’s words, did not get angry but instead replied with a half-smile.
Hua Shiyu fell silent, recalling the strength Si Lin and the others demonstrated the night the demon beasts attacked the city.
The cuisine of the Great Tang Dynasty differs somewhat from that of the Great Zhou Dynasty. The place Gu Qingqing and the others found was one of the larger restaurants in Bi Qiu City, with some food infused with Spiritual Power specifically for cultivators. In a private room on the second floor, people were discussing the events that had just transpired on the street.
"Second brother, did you hear? That guy Yier just had an ear cut off on the street, and his face got scratched. Yi Ao wanted to keep the people, but it seems the other party had many powerful talismans, flattening all of Yi Ao’s guards. It’s really hilarious!" said an eleven or twelve-year-old girl in a red riding outfit, ponytail tied, her face full of mirth as she spoke.
"Hey, is it that funny? Look at how happy you are laughing?" The young man sitting next to her, around twenty years old and wearing a white riding outfit, his deep features handsome with a doting smile, wiped the snack crumbs off the girl’s face as he asked.
"Of course, you know how annoying that Yier is. Fat and ugly, yet he wants to marry me, what a dream!" Nali wrinkled her nose, huffing as she spoke, not forgetting to swing her little fist, as if wanting to punch Yier.
