My Five Bigshot Seniors: I am The Most Coddled Junior!-Chapter 462 - 142: [First Update]
"What do we do now? We can’t keep running forever, can we?" Gu Qingqing looked back at the swarming Golden Tooth Ants behind them and asked with a frown.
"We need to find a place to hide first. There are too many Golden Tooth Ants; we can’t handle them," Rong Ye said, frowning as he glanced back at the pursuing ants.
Hearing this, Gu Qingqing continued to run while quickly scanning the surroundings, trying to find a place to hide.
When her eyes fell on a small pond not far away, they lit up.
"There’s a pond ahead; we can hide in it for now," she shouted to Rong Ye and Su Xi.
Rong Ye also noticed the small pond nearby and remembered that one of the weaknesses of the Golden Tooth Ants was their fear of water. His eyes lit up immediately, and he nodded.
Su Xi was initially excited, nodding, but then her face turned a bit sullen.
"I can’t swim!" she said, her face downcast as she looked at Gu Qingqing and Rong Ye.
Gu Qingqing and Rong Ye exchanged a glance, both looking a bit troubled.
"Why don’t you two hide first? Don’t worry about me," Su Xi said, gritting her teeth, to Gu Qingqing and Rong Ye.
"No way!" Gu Qingqing refused without a second thought. She furrowed her brows, deep in thought, when suddenly a light bulb went off in her head. "I’ve got it! I have an elixir that allows you to breathe underwater. Take the elixir, and you can stay in the water."
The elixir was originally purchased to find the Merfolk. At the time, Gu Qingqing thought it was useful and bought a lot. She had used some, but her Qiankun Ring still had a few left, and now they could come in handy.
Luckily, she had the habit of keeping her Qiankun Ring organized, so she quickly found the elixirs. She took out a bottle and tossed it to Su Xi.
"Catch!" she shouted, pitching the bottle with force.
Su Xi caught it carefully, then unscrewed the cap while running, poured out one elixir, and popped it into her mouth without thinking. The elixir quickly melted in her mouth.
By now, they had reached the edge of the pond, and the three of them stopped together.
"Jump!" Gu Qingqing shouted as she glanced back at the approaching swarm of Golden Tooth Ants, then jumped in first.
Rong Ye didn’t hesitate and followed her, and Su Xi, seeing the ants getting closer, clenched her teeth and jumped in too.
The pond wasn’t particularly deep, but it was sufficient for the three of them to stay submerged.
The Golden Tooth Ants chased them to the pond’s edge and then stopped, circling around.
Although the ants were quite large, they were terribly afraid of water. In the water, they couldn’t move and would drown like humans.
Still, they were unwilling to give up on the three, so they kept circling the pond, looking quite agitated.
After entering the water, the three of them stayed submerged for a while. Noticing that the Golden Tooth Ants hadn’t left, they frowned, unable to talk underwater, resorting to hand signals to communicate.
Frowning at the ants on the shore, Gu Qingqing thought that this couldn’t go on.
If the Golden Tooth Ants stayed by the shore, they couldn’t leave the water, and although they had the elixir for breathing underwater, it wasn’t a long-term solution. Plus, staying submerged was uncomfortable, and she disliked it.
After pondering a bit, she realized they could drag the ants into the water since they had the elixir and could fight underwater, whereas the ants could not.
Once she had the idea, her eyes brightened. She turned to the others and signaled her plan.
With their long-standing rapport, Rong Ye quickly grasped Gu Qingqing’s plan. Su Xi didn’t understand but thought it best to follow Gu Qingqing’s lead and nodded.
The three of them surfaced, emerging from the water, suspended above the pond. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
The Golden Tooth Ants grew agitated upon seeing the three, producing a rustling sound. But with Gu Qingqing and the others above the pond, the ants couldn’t reach them and could only watch, frustrated.
Seeing this, Gu Qingqing felt more confident in her plan.
"Go!" she shouted at Su Xi and Rong Ye, taking the lead in action.
The Mixed Immortal Silk flew from her sleeve, wrapping around the forelimb of a Golden Tooth Ant near the shore. With a fierce tug, the ant was pulled into the water unexpectedly.
It flailed desperately but sank deeper, eventually submerging and drowning.
Seeing this, the three of them brightened as they found a method to deal with the ants, rejoicing.
Without needing Gu Qingqing’s prompt, Su Xi and Rong Ye joined in, thinking of ways to yank the ants into the water.
Despite their preparation, the ants closest to the pond’s edge, flustered by the horde behind them, were dragged into the pond by the three and soon drowned.
The remaining ants, witnessing this, retreated fearfully from the pond’s edge.
However, their massive size and tight clustering caused chaos, providing Gu Qingqing and her comrades the chance to seize more ants amidst the confusion.
In just a short while, half of the Golden Tooth Ants were gone, and the rest fled from the pond.
Determined not to let the ants escape after the chase they endured, the three exchanged looks, each wearing a sly smile.
The Heavenly Awakening Record appeared above Rong Ye, its pages flipping rapidly before stopping on one page. Hundreds of talismans flew from the Heavenly Awakening Record, forming a barrier blocking the ants’ path.
Gu Qingqing occasionally lashed out with her Mixed Immortal Silk, binding the ants. The ants’ sharp teeth were no match for her Mixed Immortal Silk, and they ended up being flung into the pond.
Su Xi wielded a sword, unable to toss the ants as Gu Qingqing did, but she could knock them senseless with her sword before tying them with the rope Gu Qingqing provided, tossing them into the pond.
Like dumplings, the ants were flung into the pond, struggling for a while before sinking.
