Chapter 155: Chapter 155: An Indulgent Night’s Talk

With no amateur guests participating, the live stream quickly returned to its normal operation.

That night, a bonfire and barbecue continued the day’s excitement. In a corner, away from the cameras, Director Coleman and the host were drinking tea and privately discussing matters not meant for outsiders.

"The live stream’s comment section is back to normal, but any topics involving Chairman Norwood are still being blocked by the tech department. There’s also a lot of discussion about the Eldest Young Master Norwood," the host said, scrolling through the live stream on his phone. His inner gossip was running wild, and his feelings were complicated. "Luckily, the camera didn’t zoom in on Miss Sterling’s friends list. People haven’t connected ’the nephew’s ex’ and ’the uncle’s current’ to the Norwood family. Otherwise, with the terrifying deductive skills of the netizens, they would have figured out Chairman Norwood’s identity in an instant."

"It’s probably fine. From what I gather, Chairman Norwood doesn’t intend to reveal it intentionally, but he’s not trying to hide it either. We’ll just let things take their course," Director Coleman said. He scrolled through a group chat on his phone and brought up another piece of gossip. "The Station Head and Deputy Station Head are freaking out in the private group chat..."

"Why?" the host asked, curious.

"The Eldest Young Master Norwood was provoked, and now he’s taking it out on his subordinates," Director Coleman said, a troubled look on his face. "All of the Station Head’s plans for next year have been completely thrown into disarray by him. We’re all going to suffer for it down the line. We’re about to get very busy."

But Azure TV wasn’t the worst off. The heads of the four major giants—Celestial Phoenix Entertainment, Apex Entertainment, Leviathan Entertainment, and Dynasty Entertainment—had all been raked over the coals in an online meeting with the Eldest Young Master Norwood an hour ago. The same Eldest Young Master Norwood who groveled before Silas Norwood was an unreasonable, domineering tyrant to everyone else. He had immediately traced Silas Norwood’s audio call to borrow money back to the show’s production team. He didn’t dare openly cause trouble for the show in front of Silas Norwood, so he decided to take it out on the entire entertainment industry instead. He threw a pile of nonsensical proposals at them, making the lives of the various decision-makers miserable beyond words.

The host gave a bitter smile. "How did we end up playing ourselves with a simple ’borrow money’ game?"

"Let’s not worry about that for now. The Station Head and the others are coming to the tea party the day after tomorrow. The investors behind those connected guests will probably show up too. We can’t afford to offend any of them, especially not Chairman Norwood. We’ll have to upgrade the catering we had planned for the tea party." Director Coleman stressed, "Chairman Norwood is the main priority. We have to make sure he’s well taken care of. The other investors will just follow his lead."

According to their contracts, this was the final episode for those ’connected guests’ on the show. Their investors were supposed to come to the set to generate buzz for them, paving the way for their future careers. But now, with the ultimate tycoon Silas Norwood in the picture, the original plan to build hype would likely turn into a business meeting where everyone would be clamoring for his attention...

The host remembered something. "You might not have noticed when we were talking during the day, but I heard Miss Sterling mention that her brother might be coming."

"Miss Sterling’s brother?" Director Coleman stiffened. "Kian Sterling?"

The host gave a silent nod.

"Holy shit!" Director Coleman felt a surge of panic, as if a tidal wave of attention was coming that he couldn’t possibly handle. "I remember Kian Sterling has eighty million fans, right? On par with the biggest superstars in the entertainment industry?"

"He broke ninety million the day Chairman Norwood and Chairman Sterling had that dream collaboration on Weibo." The host patted Director Coleman’s shoulder. "Don’t panic. It’s not like we haven’t seen our share of major events. When the traffic comes, we have to handle it, no matter what it takes."

"Don’t mention this to anyone yet. His schedule isn’t confirmed, after all. Chairman Sterling is a very busy man; he might not have time to come." Director Coleman took a deep breath. His heart was pounding, but his mind was already picturing the magnificent sight of Silas Norwood and Kian Sterling in the same frame.

「Late that night.」

In a warm bedroom at Imperial Harmony Garden, the frenzy subsided into calm.

Silas Norwood, thoroughly satisfied, leaned back against the bed with a lazy air, his adoring eyes fixed on Celia Sterling in his arms.

Music King Scott hadn’t lied to him.

His wife had been proactive and passionate for the first time. For hours, they had both lost themselves completely, so stimulated they lost all track of time.

Things finally quieted down after midnight, but neither of them felt sleepy. Silas Norwood held Celia Sterling’s soft waist, gently stroking her hair. A certain scent lingered in the air. Celia’s breathing hadn’t fully settled, the flush had yet to fade from her face, and the reddened corners of her eyes still held the traces of tears.

Silas Norwood spoke to her, his voice sexy and slightly hoarse. "These past few days since we got our license, there’s one thing I keep regretting."

Celia Sterling looked up. "Hm?"

Silas Norwood gently caressed her smooth back. With her sweet scent in his arms, an uncontrollable physical attraction made the impulse he had just quieted begin to stir again. He sighed softly. "If I had known it would be like this, I would have married you two years earlier."

"Two years earlier?" Celia Sterling gently rolled over on top of him. "That wouldn’t have worked. I was still engaged to Declan Norwood then."

"Then it should have been three years ago," Silas Norwood paused. "Before you started dating Declan Norwood."

"That wouldn’t have worked either. We barely knew each other. We couldn’t even say we were acquainted."

’How could we have barely known each other?’ Silas Norwood thought back to her coming-of-age banquet, to the fitting room under the ambiguous lighting where he slowly zipped up her dress. He remembered the private club where she had pushed him into a chair and lightly bit him, mistaking him for a male model...

He had thought about marrying her and taking her home even back then.

’She was still so young,’ he’d thought. ’There was plenty of time.’

But he never expected Declan Norwood to beat him to it.

Declan Norwood had pursued her relentlessly that year but kept hitting a wall with Kian Sterling, so Silas hadn’t thought much of it. Who would have known that just as he was starting to make a move himself, Kian Sterling would suddenly agree to Declan’s suit.

He had felt a certain degree of resentment over the past few years. Fortunately, the outcome was, for him, a perfect one.

Celia Sterling had no idea that the man before her, who seemed so calm and indifferent, had often been lost in thought these past few years whenever Declan Norwood bragged about his girlfriend in the family group chat. She didn’t know that he had long since memorized her phone number because Declan used her phone to report work to him, or that a secret obsession had taken root in his heart a month ago when Kian Sterling had forcefully broken off the engagement.

She vaguely sensed the man’s body beginning to lose control again as she lingered on top of him. She silently slid off him and lay down properly on the pillow beside him, pulling the covers up to bundle herself tightly.

It was after lunch the next day when Celia Sterling and Silas Norwood arrived at the set once again.

This time, the two weren’t wearing matching work clothes, but were instead dressed in very relaxed, casual outfits. The moment they appeared, the live stream comments were once again put under control, and the cameraman, with great experience, kept the camera off their faces.

Celia Sterling proactively greeted everyone, then, just like yesterday, obediently sat down beside Chloe Chambers.

Silas Norwood sat down next to her, one long leg bent, partially shielding her in his embrace. Only then did he give a casual, polite nod to Music King Scott, who was a short distance away. Perhaps it was just his imagination, but Music King Scott felt that Silas Norwood’s attitude toward him had, for some reason, become a little better overnight.
