My Fiancé's Scandals Never End, So I Married His Uncle Instead-Chapter 118: Silas Norwood is Getting Married
Next to Quinn Sinclair, Second Young Master Sinclair’s face darkened. "What infatuation? Don’t be ridiculous. That was ages ago!"
Back in the day, Second Young Master Sinclair had been one of Celia Sterling’s many suitors. Kian Sterling had dug up a dozen or so of his ex-girlfriends and current girlfriends all at once, causing a massive scandal that ruined Second Young Master Sinclair’s reputation to this day. Quinn Sinclair had once told Celia this story as a joke, but he was her brother, after all, so she didn’t tease him endlessly. She just broached the subject lightly before moving on.
"Oh, come on. I know you’re scared of Kian Sterling—all bark and no bite. We’re all in the same circle; we’re bound to see each other sooner or later. Since we’re already here, let’s just go say hi and share a table!"
While Second Young Master Sinclair was still hesitating, his sister had already dragged him over to Celia Sterling’s table.
Celia was still watching Silas Norwood with great interest.
Silas Norwood had a tall, straight posture and an exceptional presence that made him stand out even in a crowd.
Celia watched his elegant back as he walked to the milk tea shop and got in the long line. His captivating charm and undeniable charisma caused a subtle stir in the crowd around him. As if sensing the attention, he discreetly shifted to a more shadowed spot.
Even so, six or seven girls approached him one after another, eagerly holding out their phones to offer their contact info. He refused them with silence, never taking out his own phone. After a standoff that lasted several minutes, the girls walked away, looking quite resentful.
The next moment, two people suddenly appeared at her table.
"Celia Sterling, how dare you sneak off to this place to feast all by yourself!" Quinn Sinclair’s cheerful voice rang out as she enveloped Celia in a fragrant hug. "It’s been so long! Did you miss me?"
Celia pulled her gaze away from the distant milk tea shop and looked in surprise at Quinn and the silent man standing beside her. "You’re here too?" 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮
"I heard the stall owner came up with a new sesame sauce, so I absolutely had to come try it." Quinn sat down next to her, then paused and gestured toward Second Young Master Sinclair. "This is my second brother. I’ve told you about him."
Celia wasn’t very familiar with Second Young Master Sinclair. She was actually closer to Quinn’s eldest brother, the Sinclair Family’s Crown Prince. After all, he was one of the people Kian Sterling would summon to ZONE Club to keep Celia entertained, so they would hang out from time to time.
But after Quinn’s story about how her second brother had tried to ask for her hand in marriage, only to be spectacularly shut down by Kian Sterling, Celia had definitely formed an impression of him.
She offered a polite greeting. "Hello, Second Brother Sinclair."
"Hello, Miss Sterling." Second Young Master Sinclair sat down as far from Celia as possible. After his one-line response, he picked up the menu to order, as if to hide his awkwardness.
"You don’t have to order for me; I’ve already put my order in." Seeing Second Young Master Sinclair checking off a long list of items, Celia gave him a reminder before turning to speak with Quinn. "You haven’t messaged me lately."
"It’s not that I didn’t want to. After your brother caught us at Sterling Manor, my family has been keeping a really tight leash on me." Quinn lowered her voice. "Also, not long after that, the ’Moonlight’ and ’Cinnabar’ documents were completely destroyed. Now all those crazy women are targeting me. Ugh, they’re driving me crazy with their pestering."
Celia didn’t have to think twice to know that destroying the files was the work of either Kian Sterling or Silas Norwood.
She cleared her throat. "Well, it wasn’t exactly wholesome content. If it’s destroyed, it’s destroyed."
"Not wholesome?" Quinn gritted her teeth. "If it wasn’t wholesome, then why were you reading it with me day and night, staying up so late you got dark circles under your eyes..."
Celia mumbled, trying to change the subject, "I’m a respectable person now."
"Respectable person, hah!" Quinn clicked her tongue and glanced around. "Coming out to a remote place like this... your dear brother didn’t follow you? Or send a couple of bodyguards?"
"Oh, I came with my boyfriend."
"Boyfriend? You mean your ethereal, otherworldly one?" Quinn was instantly excited. "Where is he? Quick, quick, introduce us! I’ve been curious about him for ages. Hiding him away for so long... aren’t you afraid he’ll get moldy?"
"He went to get milk tea." ’The official announcement is just a day or two away anyway,’ Celia thought, ’so there’s no reason to hide it.’ "You’ll see him in a bit."
"I can’t wait!" Quinn kicked Second Young Master Sinclair, who was sitting beside her. "Second Brother, go get me a milk tea, too."
Second Young Master Sinclair was already feeling awkward, so he quickly stood up, found a random milk tea shop, and went to get in line.
With the third wheel gone, Quinn nudged Celia. "Silas Norwood is getting married. Did you see his Weibo post a while back? All the socialites in The Capital Circle are going absolutely ballistic over it!"
"Getting married is perfectly normal. What’s there to go ballistic about? There’s only one Silas Norwood; he can’t be split among all of them," Celia said dismissively.
"Well, they’ve been chasing him for so many years. It’s understandable they’d feel some lingering resentment." Quinn sighed again. "It’s a good thing it’s not your brother getting married. If it were, none of them would know a moment’s peace."
"My brother?" Celia didn’t understand, so she asked, "What do you mean, ’a good thing it’s not my brother’? He’s going to get married sooner or later. What business is that of theirs?"
"Kian Sterling and Silas Norwood are different." As an onlooker, Quinn saw things clearly and began to seriously educate Celia. "You just have to look at the seven or eight hundred thousand words of ’Cinnabar’ and the two hundred thousand words of ’Moonlight’ to see it. A guy with your brother’s looks, body, and personality can make women fantasize about him in a hundred different positions. He’s just too alluring..."
"Don’t be ridiculous. My brother is a respectable man, too."
"It has nothing to do with being respectable. He just has the kind of face that gets women hot and bothered. It can’t be helped." With Kian Sterling nowhere in sight, Quinn’s words were completely unfiltered. "But Silas Norwood is different. He’s so cold and bland. Everyone is gossiping behind his back that his future wife is probably in for a miserable time."
"Miserable?" Celia fell silent for a few seconds before asking with feigned humility, "Do tell. How so?"
Quinn glanced around. No one was eavesdropping. Only then did she lower her voice, concisely summarizing the latest gossip from their circle to share with her best friend:
"A lot of people are spreading rumors that he’s... probably not very good in bed."
Celia: "..."
At the milk tea shop.
Silas Norwood had no idea that uninvited guests had crashed his secret date with his girlfriend.
And that those uninvited guests were bad-mouthing him behind his back.
He waited in line with a calm expression, occasionally asking the guy in front of him in a low voice about the shop’s signature drinks. But the names of the milk teas were so varied and confusing, it was more exhausting than reading his conglomerate’s annual report.
When it was finally his turn, the milk tea shop employee’s eyes lit up as she stared at him, her tone softening considerably. "Hello, what can I get for you?"
Silas Norwood’s gaze swept over the vast menu of milk tea options. He pondered for a moment. "Two of the shop’s signature milk teas, please."
He paused. Looking at the low-quality milk and tea containers on the counter, he ultimately didn’t dare let Celia try the standard, mass-market version served outside. He added:
"No milk, no tea, and no toppings."
