The four spellbooks that Anton purchased from the forest elves were Summon Spring, Summon Summer, Summon Autumn, Summon Winter, and Summon Twilight. The five spells were area-of-effect spells that could only be cast by someone who had reached the archmage rank. The spell duration of the said season spells was determined by the wizard who cast them, but the minimum duration was 10 minutes. The spell's covered area was fairly large. The spells could basically cover the whole garden in front of the Rose Manor.
To make the spells somewhat permanent, like the gardens within the forest elves’ kingdom, the spell needed to be tied into an array and anchored into a mana stone. Remonulus told Anton that a single low-level mana stone could maintain the spell for 24 hours to 72 hours, depending on the size of the area the spell was covering.
The fact that the forest elves' kingdom had several gardens enveloped in such spells meant that the expenditure in mana stones was extremely high. The spell would only rest once the actual season was compatible with the specific garden covered by the specific Season spells. Remonulus told Anton that all the information that he had been saying was included in the array.
Anton was excited to receive the five Season spellbooks and two Array books. He stored them immediately in his inventory. After that, Remonulus said they would choose the Alien film franchise first, then it would be Anton’s responsibility to select which movies he would give to the elves next. The old elven wizard asked how many Alien movies there were.
At first, Anton had a thought of just showing Alien and Aliens, which was Alien 2, and then telling everyone that that was it, since the other Alien films had mixed reviews. He did not know for sure since he had not watched them before.
After a couple of minutes of thinking, Anton decided to be truthful and told the elf that there were seven Alien films. He did not include the other alien movies that had the Predator in them because, according to a quick internet search, only the seven films were canon.
He also told the old elf wizard about the mixed reviews of each of the Alien films. Because of that, their discussion lasted for another two hours, since aside from the reviews, Anton also had to give a synopsis of each of the films. He just read the synopsis aloud from searching the internet, since Anton had no idea what the rest of the Alien films were all about.
Thankfully, Remonulus seemed not to care that not all Alien movies were beloved. The old elf told Anton that at their stage of inexperience when it came to watching movies, probably all movies would be great. The forest elves were not jaded like the Earth’s Netizens when it came to films.
Anton then offered the next franchise that he could think of, which was the Star Wars films, and told Remonulus that there were nine films in the franchise.
The old elf told him that he would not decide on the Star Wars films yet, not until they had seen a movie from that franchise, and Anton just agreed.
After that, the bargaining was done, and both parties were satisfied. Anton left the old elf home happily, thinking about the five spellbooks that he had received. Once he was outside, he thought about reading the Array books until it was time to go to the cinema hall so they could all watch Aliens, but he decided to go to the Arena to check how his summons were doing. He hoped none of the forest elves died.
When he got near the Arena, Anton heard the sounds of battle. The elf who was guarding the gates allowed him to enter. He saw that a battle was going on between his Valkyrie and an extremely powerful elven wizard. He saw Captain Mendrolil sitting in the audience seat, so he went to the captain and sat beside him.
“So how are my summons, and who is that battling my Valkyrie?” Anton asked the elven Captain, whose eyes were still trained on the battle.
“The elf battling your summon is a Supreme Rank wizard. The battle just started, but everyone is amazed at your summons’s power,” The captain said.
Anton’s Valkyrie was using the Amazon skills to attack the elven wizard. He knew all the skills of his Valkyrie, so he knew what his Valkyrie was capable of. He watched the battle together with the elven captain. At first, Anton expected his summon to lose since ultimately, his Valkyrie was just a summon, and it was facing a Supreme Rank wizard, but after ten minutes, the battle was declared over by the referee, and the elf wizard lost.
The elf seated in the audience cheered after the battle ended. Anton noticed that there were several elven healers around who immediately rushed toward the elf wizard who was sporting several arrows in his body.
“Your summons are all extremely powerful! We’re learning a lot,” Captain Mendrolil finally faced Anton.
“Well, I’m glad I’m able to help. Just be very careful. What you’ve said is correct. My summons are powerful,” Anton told the elven captain.
“I’m guessing that since you’re not around, the abilities that we’ve seen from your summons are not at their peak, right?” Mendrolil asked, and Anton just nodded.
Every experienced combatant knew that a summoner had spells that would buff their summons in battle. The fact that Anton was not present, that meant that his summons were without those buffs.
“Your summons confused a lot of the young ones. They just stayed in the room that we asked them to stay in, not moving, not eating, basically not doing anything, until we called them for battle. It was fine when it was just the ravens, the wolves, and the bear, but the two humanoid summons were the same.”
“I did inform you that they’re not living beings but some sort of mana construct, so you can battle with them until they’re destroyed.”
Mendrolil just shook his head, then told Anton he needed to speak with the elven wizards who had just fought the Valkyrie, and also needed to prepare for the next training combat. Anton just nodded and left.
He decided to return to the guest house and start memorizing the Season spells. Then he would start reading the Array books. While walking, he thought about the Supreme Rank who lost to his summon. He thought that more than likely, the elven wizard was just recently promoted to that rank, and inexperience in battle, since the elf was weak. He truly thought that his Valkyrie would not win against a Supreme Rank wizard. He now understood Mendrolil’s need to train his men.
Once he had arrived at the guest house, Anton started memorizing the Season spells and managed to memorize all five spells in an hour. He started reading the Basic Array book and focused on it until Leldorin arrived to invite him for dinner, then to the cinema hall.
Anton was excited about the second Alien movie, simply titled Aliens. He had read great things about the film. The movies started at exactly seven in the evening.
He felt thrilled while watching the film. The scary feeling of knowing that monsters were coming made Anton grateful that he had magic powers. The same situation could actually happen in real life. Anton actually cried when the main lead did not hesitate to go back to where the Aliens were to rescue a little girl, and he had seen that some of the other elves also cried.
