Chapter 734
Anton started the Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers film without any delay as soon as seven in the evening hit. Everyone who wanted to watch the movie was already inside and prepared to see the film without interruption. There was an excitement in the air, and Anton could understand it. At least, the forest elves did not have to wait a full year before they could see the next film in the franchise, unlike the Earthlings when The Fellowship of the Ring first came out.
All of the forest elves were excited to see how Aragorn, Legolas, and Gimli would save Merry and Pippin. Anton could see the elves' disgust toward Gollum as the creature followed Frodo and Sam.
Anton could feel the forest elves' joy when Gandalf, who became a white wizard after defeating the Balrog, met up with Aragorn, Gimli, and Legolas in the forest of Fangorn. After learning that Merry and Pippin were safe and accompanied by the Ents, the three warriors followed Gandalf to Edoras, Rohan’s capital, to free its king from Saruman’s control.
When Anton saw the scene wherein Eowyn, wearing a white dress, was standing on a balcony in front of the hall of Edoras, he had to admit that the actress playing the part truly portrayed the beauty and vulnerability of a princess burdened by an ailing king and cast-out brother. Anton could hear the forest elves praising the beauty of Eowyn. He could even hear some of the elven girls planning to copy Eowyn’s dress and knew that the Cosplay phenomenon would also occur in the Northern Forest.
Anton could not help but cry again when the scene came wherein even children were being conscripted to fight the enemy so that their kingdom would survive. He could see that some of the elves also cried during that scene.
During the scene wherein everyone was in despair, and the elves from Rivendell arrived, Anton was astonished that a lot of the forest elves cried. The fact that there was a history in the story wherein men and elves fought together, and that now they were fighting together again, brought out a passionate cheer from some of the forest elves.
The battle scenes in the movie were one of the best battle scenes anyone could see in the history of cinema, and Anton saw that the forest elves were affected greatly. Just like the battle scenes in the first Avatar film, they all stood up, as if they wanted to dive headfirst into the screen to assist the armies of men and elves in fighting against the orcs. Everyone was highly amused by Legolas and Gimli’s competition of who could kill the most.
The battle of the Ents against Saruman’s forces was also incredibly thrilling, and Anton saw that the forest elves cheered enthusiastically.
In the scene where Frodo and Sam were captured by Boromir’s brother, Anton was amused that most of the forest elves became angry and kept throwing curses at Faramir. They kept reiterating the phrase “ignorant human.”
When Faramir released Frodo and Sam, Anton was amused to see that the forest elves’ opinion of Faramir took a 180-degree turn and said that Boromir’s brother was a good “human”.
Everyone cheered when the armies of good prevailed against the enemy, but the movie ended ominously when they saw that Gollum planned to betray Frodo and Sam.
When the movie ended, the elves cheered again, and they kept reiterating that they now understood why the Lord of the Rings films were Anton’s favorite films. At first, some of them compared the films to the Avatar franchise, but most disregarded those kinds of opinions since the two were extremely different kinds of stories from each other.
The discussion started, and based on the energy in the hall, the talk would probably last for hours. Darodil went to Anton and told him to come to his shop early the next day so they could talk about which item he wanted added to his order. Apparently, the elven carpenter agreed with Anton that the copies of the Lord of the Rings film were extremely valuable and would allow him to purchase a lot more things.
It was already midnight when Anton arrived at the guest house assigned to him by the elves. Since he was not tired yet, he decided to level up his Diablo II ladder character first. Unlike the previous season, he wanted to reach the maximum level for all seven Diablo II characters, so he decided that he would not play Diablo Immortal for now and would just focus on Diablo II. Once the ladder season ended, he would then focus on Diablo Immortal. Besides, his knowledge of the mobile game was severely lacking. He still did not know a lot of the currencies and a lot of the mechanics of the game. Still, with the items that he had now from the Diablo Immortal game, his power in the main world increased a lot.
Anton could use the spells from Diablo Immortal in the real world, but because of the game’s mechanics that followed him into the real world, like the spells' cooldown, he would probably keep using the Diablo II spells. At that moment, the only advantage Diablo Immortal had given him was the increased stats, power, and defense, but they were still tremendous. He knew that once he focused on the game and learned its mechanics, the advantages would increase.
When he got tired, Anton finally rested, and when he woke up the next day, he headed directly to Darodil’s shop. The two talked for a couple of hours regarding all the items that the carpenter would create for Anton for copies of the three Lord of the Rings films. Thankfully, all of the items would be completed in just two weeks, since a lot of people were assisting the elven carpenter, and of course, magic was also being used. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚
Anton would have preferred the time to be shorter, but considering the number of things that he would receive, he was thankful that the forest elves would only need two weeks, starting the next day, for all of them.
After he was done with his talk with Darodil, Enoril met him outside.
“What movies were you planning to let us watch next?” Enoril asked.
“Hey! The Lord of the Rings is not done yet, and you’re already looking forward to the next films! I planned to give it a rest for two to three days before I decide which movies to let you guys watch next. The movies tied me here. I want to explore the surrounding area for at least two to three days,” Anton told the elf.
Anton could see that Enoril wanted to argue with him, but thankfully, the young elf stopped himself. The elf probably realized that if he pushed Anton, it would sour their relationship. Instead, Enoril suggests letting the six young elves who brought him hunting guide him as he explores the surrounding area.
“Oh, by the way, remember to get your tiny wooden house from Darodil before going outside to explore,” Enoril advised.
The two then went somewhere to eat since Anton had not had breakfast yet. After that, they were joined by the other young elves, and they hung out in one of the many parks that were eternally stuck in spring, summer, or fall. There, they talked about the film, and Anton started talking about the concept of Cosplay. Based on the young elves’ reaction, they were intrigued by the concept, but the sad part was that they had a limited pool of movies they could base their cosplay on.
