Chapter 722

“It took you a while to return home,” Anders commented the moment Anton’s father saw him.

“We should adjust the expectations of my return from every three to four days to about every seven to eight days. I stayed with the Brownie folks the past few days. They’re a community of small magical forest folks inside the Northern Forest. They’re only as big as goblins, but they looked like regular farming village folks. It would be more convenient for me to stay longer, especially in places that I don’t want anyone to detect my portal,” Anton told his family.

He then joined the family for dinner. Alfred asked for a new television show since they had already completed Avatar: The Last Airbender.

While eating, Anton thought of what show he would share with Alfred. At first, he thought about giving them Legend of Korra, but if he was being honest, he did not like the show much. He thought that it was probably time for Alfred to be introduced to the best art form an otaku could have. Anime.

Anton then thought of the big three and decided that it should be one of them. Upon further reflection, he decided to start Alfred with Naruto. He laughed at the thought of the Otaku culture spreading to this world, starting from Alfred.

While they were eating, the family members talked about the status of the family businesses, but only in passing. They knew Anton was not interested in the details of the businesses. They knew that the most important thing to him was that the businesses would be capable of enriching the family’s wealth. Even Anders’s mercenary teams were bringing the family a huge amount of gold coins since the members of his mercenary teams started becoming powerful due primarily to Anders bringing the members with him into the high-level dungeon, and the help of the Insight Runeword weapons, which allowed party members to have increased experience gain.

From what Anton had heard, his father’s teams were satisfied with the current setup they had. Of course, a few left, but if they did, they would need to leave the high-level items that Anders lent them. Some even wanted to return, especially when they realized that when they were with Anton’s father inside a dungeon, the rate of their growth was startlingly fast; they knew they had made a mistake in leaving. Anders did not accept those who left since they had already proven that they did not have loyalty towards Anders and the team.

After dinner, he gave Alfred ten episodes of Naruto and advised the kid to copy them immediately using a magic item recorder. Anton, his father, and his sister went to Anders’s office to talk for a bit, but he told them that he was inside the kingdom of the forest elves and would need to return immediately, so their talk was brief. He told them that once he left the forest elves' kingdom, he would stay longer to show them the videos that he had recorded of the Brownie folks and the Forest Elves and their kingdom.

“They were okay with you recording them?” Anders asked.

“They didn’t know. Good thing about the spell I’m using to record, it’s basically undetectable, and any magic it emitted could be thought of as part of my aura of being a powerful wizard,” Anton giggled.

Anna giggled as well and told Anton that he was a villain. Anders just smilingly shook his head regarding Anton and Anna’s behavior. After about an hour of talking with his father and sister, Anton returned to his room to travel back to the forest elves’ kingdom. He hoped that his portal was not detected by the elves, but the moment he arrived, he heard knocking on his door. He knew then that the elves had detected his portal. He immediately dispelled it and answered his door.

“We detected a powerful spell inside. We need to know what you are doing,” One of the elves who knocked on his door haughtily said.

“Lendoril must have told you that I have a spell that allows me to open a window to another dimension. I’m preparing the movie that I will be showing tomorrow night,” Anton told the elven mage.

They still requested to inspect his home, and since Anton had nothing to hide, he moved out of the way and allowed the elves to inspect every nook and cranny of the house that was assigned to him. After a few minutes of not finding anything, the elves frowned at him, showing him that, for some reason, they were displeased with him, and then they all left.

Anton did not like the disrespect and thought of leaving. But he really wanted the forest elves artisans to build him a customized tiny house, and he could only do that if he formed a closer relationship with them. He knew that he could do so through the films, so he stayed. Anton planned to order a lot more things from the forest elves, not just the tiny traveling house. He wanted a complete set of furniture and some artwork. His goal was to fill the Rose Manor with the things that he could acquire from the forest elves.

Since he was not sleepy yet, he spent the majority of the evening leveling up his Diablo characters. That night, he reached the maximum level of his ladder Necromancer and created a new ladder Druid that reached level 7. His Diablo Immortal Wizard reached Paragon level 210. The fact was, he still did not know much about the mobile game, simply because he spent only a couple of hours each day on it, and still spent the majority of his time inside his system, leveling up ladder characters. There was a time limit on ladder season, and he wanted to make sure that he would level up all of the Diablo II characters that season to the maximum level. After the ladder season ended, he would then shift his attention to Diablo Immortal.

Anton slept when he got tired, but he was not worried that he would lack rest simply because of his Pearl of the Ocean magic item. Even though he slept at around three in the morning, he woke up at around seven. He was feeling hungry and thought of eating some of the food that he stored in his inventory, but after a few minutes, Enoril arrived to invite him for breakfast.

They went to a building that hosts a buffet-style breakfast. Enoril told him that the food was prepared for the soldiers and guards who did not have time to prepare food in their homes, but anyone could come and eat. Thankfully, the forest elves were not some kind of vegans and had also prepared meat dishes, although the majority of the dishes were still vegetables and fruits. Enoril told him that it was simply because they were inside the forest, and those types of food were plentiful in that location.

Still, Anton was extremely impressed when he tasted the dishes. Every one of them was superb, and he then remembered that the forest elves were a long-lived race. That meant that they had time to perfect all of their art, including their cooking.

Enoril told him that the plan to show the first Avatar film tonight was a go-ahead, but Lendoril and the others were still campaigning for the majority of the elves to attend the movie-watching.

“Why campaign? Just let those who wanted to see the film see it, and those who did not want to, just let them be,” Anton said.

“They were not actually campaigning, but were just basically sharing more information about the movie. I know my people, Anton. Since they knew that it was sort of a brand new form of art, all of them would watch it. I’m excited too, even though I’ve seen it already, simply because of the new 3d mode that you planned to show us. We’ve already made the 3d glasses and made sure that there would be enough for everyone and more,” Enoril told Anton.
