Chapter 715

Anton thought that showing the trailer for Avatar: The Way of Water to Terun and his family was a mistake. Instead of pacifying their persistence in knowing something about the second movie, Terun, his wife, and his two kids became more excited. Even Terun and Glenda behaved like children and could not settle down. They kept babbling about the fact that they could not wait until the next day to watch the second film.

Anton did regret a little that the version of Avatar he had shown them was the regular one, not the Imax version. He thought that the 3d version was ten times better than the regular version. Nevertheless, the movie was an epic one that titillated the imagination of every brownie folk, from kids to the very old.

Inside his room, Anton continued leveling up his Diablo characters until he got tired enough to sleep. Early the next day, he was flabbergasted to learn that Terun and his family only slept for a couple of hours. Terun and Glenda admitted that everyone was just too excited. They could not even wait until after lunch and tried to persuade Anton to show them the movie after breakfast.

He learned that some of the elders met with Terun to try to ask Anton if they could watch the second film in the morning and the third film after lunch. Their reasoning was simple. Because the village was buried in snow, they could not do regular work or chores anyway, so why not spend it watching films?

Anton just sighed and agreed to let the brownies watch the film early. Avatar: The Way of Water would be shown starting around nine in the morning, then everyone would go to lunch. Then, around two in the afternoon, the third film, which was Avatar: Fire and Ash, would be shown. Anton was a little surprised that the brownies planned to have a party after the movie.

Terun admitted to him that parties, from simple to extravagant, were a regular thing for the folks, especially during winter when they had nothing to do. The brownie’s excuse was that since they worked hard during the other season to accumulate the resources they could use during winter, then it was just right to consume them in a happy environment.

“Are you not worried that your resources would run out before the winter ends?” Anton asked.

He then learned that because of the magic that the brownie wielded, they had resources in abundance that a lot of other communities inside the forest traded with them in the middle of winter. Even the forest elves.

“Why is that? I assumed that the forest elves would have the same magic as you?” Anton asked.

“Well, they’re not focus in gathering food. They specialized in combat or the arts, so the majority of time was spent elevating the things they were interested in,” Glenda answered for Terun.

After breakfast, everyone went to the village hall. Anton was still surprised at how large their hall was. It was built against the largest tree in the village, which was located at the very center of the village. It was warm inside since apparently, some of the folks made sure that the fire was kept going, since they knew that the movie watching would be held that day.

The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement.

Anton asked Terun if they were not worried about the fireplace consuming a large amount of wood, and Terun said that only a small part of the fuel was wood. The rest was mana stone, and only very little of it was consumed for the fire. Most communities inside the forest did the same thing. Instead of using the trees for fires, they use mana stone.

“So some of the forest folks go to Ormunda to delve into dungeons for mana stone?” Anton asked.

“No. The forest is extremely large, Anton. It has its own dungeons. Not to mention that wild dungeon that sprang up now and again,” Terun said. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎

“What are wild dungeons?”

“Because of the forest’s magic, dungeons would be born, and since those dungeons are young, they would have one to two floors. Once someone conquers it and takes the dungeon core, then the wild dungeon will collapse,” Terun said.

Terun’s statement opened Anton's eyes to many things he did not know about. Specifically about dungeons. He had to admit that ever since he started delving into dungeons, Anton had not made an effort to know more about them. He did not know about dungeon cores and that once they were taken, the dungeon would disappear. Based on that information alone, he knew that the dungeon cores of the dungeons in Ormunda were probably protected by the Ormundans.

“What’s the use of dungeon cores?” Anton asked Terun.

“Depending on the age of the dungeon, it’s basically a more powerful mana stone, but even the very young dungeon’s dungeon cores are probably worth a thousand high-level mana stones. That’s why any adventurer lucky enough to stumble into a wild dungeon would become instantly rich.”

Terun expanded that the probability of some unknown adventurer stumbling into a wild dungeon was extremely rare. Anton thought that it was comparable to winning the lottery.

Once the hall was ready, Anton did not delay any longer and started the next film in the Avatar franchise, which was Avatar: The Way of Water. Since he had recently seen the film, Anton decided to place himself at the back and level up his Diablo characters while everyone else was watching the movie.

Because his attention was with his Diablo System, Anton did not see that the brownie folks were fascinated by the underwater scenes.

When the movie ended, the brownies cheered again. Everyone returned home for lunch, including Terun and his family. Anton followed them home and ate with them, then, without any delay, they returned to the village hall.

Anton was not surprised that everyone was there already. He just sighed when he realized that instead of seeing the day-to-day lives of the brownies, they looked the same as anyone who was excited watching movies, like the Ormundans and his other friends who became cinephiles. Terun did tell Anton that their elder mentioned that the snow would subside the next day. That meant that the brownies' lives would return to normal, but it was still going to be limited since it was still the middle of winter. Anton decided that he would not delay his journey anymore and would resume his travel the day after tomorrow.

Everyone was already waiting for Anton to show them the third film in the Avatar franchise. He did not delay anymore and started the movie. After the film, everyone was in a celebratory mood, so the party started soon after.

Anton was surprised that a lot of food was prepared already, and Anton and Glenda admitted that the brownies prepared for them last night, since everyone was too excited about watching the movies, so they did not sleep.

During the party, some brownies who traveled the forest for different reasons, like visiting relatives or trading. They were regaled with stories about the films, and all of them had expressions of deep regret that they had not arrived early enough to have seen the films.

Anton was surprised that there were some forest elf visitors who came with the newly arrived brownie folks, and he learned that they were there for trade. Terun told Anton that their elder wanted to speak with him.

They returned home first to rest, and soon, the elder arrived with some of his delegation to Terun’s home.
